I ordered this because they claimed it had improved audio quality compared to previous models. I did not notice any improved audio quality. I’ve had cheap radios with tiny speakers with better sound. In the settings they have an equalizer where you can adjust the treble, midrange, and bass frequencies, but those slides had no noticeable effect, it still had muddy audio quality. In addition, the new chatty version of Alexa is annoying. In the settings you can set it to “brief” which supposedly cuts out some of the faux human banter, but even when you tell it to shut up and stop talking after the question has been answered, it still comes back with more unnecessary responses.
I don’t notice any useful improvements over older models. It supposedly has the ability to monitor temperature, but a half hour after set up it still was “recalibrating”. How long does it take to k ow what the temperature is?
It seems a bit big for something with a small lower quality speaker.
They should really offer the option of a setting where it can just answer the question plainly without a lot of additional fake human unwanted additional and unhelpful banter.
The extra lights are annoying. I wish there was a setting to minimize all that unneeded flashing. I’ll try to find some box to cover it when not in use or start unplugging it. For something this expensive that is primarily a speaker, it is inexcusable that they skimped on audio clarity.

Echo Dot and battery Base ❤️❤️
I’m absolutely gonna love this little gadget. It’s gonna do exactly what I need in my kitchen while I’m having a good time doing it lol it was so easy to hook up. I’m not a techy person and I had it set up in less than five minutes. I also purchased this battery base so if I wanted to take it outside or somewhere else in the house without it being connected to an outlet I can.

Incredible Sound Quality & Functionality
The premium sound quality is outstanding, and I’m amazed at the audio produced from this compact speaker. Music fills my Family Room beautifully, considering the size, which is 20’X22’ and also 18’ high. I’m extremely impressed with the incredible technology and detail that went into producing such a terrific device.

Easy to hook up when you buy from specially, when it’s 50%
Excellent right out the box I could hook up both my TVs and I’m hooking up my iRobot Roomba tomorrow I tell it to turn on YouTube. It turns it on it couldn’t be easier. Thank you for having it 50% off because I wasn’t paying 80 bucks for this I couldn’t believe it was 50% off. Thank you for that 10 stars all the way.

Great Sound, Quality, and Perfect For My Workday!
I’m really happy with this Echo Dot! The sound quality is surprisingly good for such a compact speaker. I especially love listening to music on it while I’m working. It’s nice having music playing in the background throughout my workday, and the sound is clear without taking up much space. Alexa also makes it convenient to set timers, check the weather, ask questions, play music, and handle simple tasks without having to pick up my phone. Setup was easy, and I really like the charcoal color because it looks sleek and blends in nicely with my decor. It’s a great little device for everyday use, and I definitely recommend it!

Me parece súper práctico poder hacer tantas cosas simplemente diciendo “Alexa…”.

The Best Echo Yet
I've owned several generations of Echo devices over the years, and this newest Echo Dot is by far my favorite. It's amazing to see how much they've improved. The sound quality is noticeably better, Alexa responds faster, and it seems like it has an answer or solution for just about everything.
I use it every day to control smart lights, set reminders, check the weather, answer random questions, and manage other smart devices around the house. It's become one of those things I don't even think about anymore because it's just part of my daily routine.
If you've had older Echo devices, you'll definitely notice the improvements. Highly recommended.

Amazing, buy one!!!
I got same day delivery, and I was thoroughly pleased with my purchase. The sound is crisp, you can tell it anything, and is very easy to use and maneuver through the app. I have always wanted an Alexa Echo, and this Dot did not disappoint. For 50 dollars, this is amazing! Would recommend. Very efficient.

Better Sound , But I Miss the Auxiliary Port
The sound quality on this Echo Dot is noticeably better than our older model. Voices are clearer, music sounds fuller, and it has plenty of volume for a bedroom or smaller living space. Setup was quick and easy through the Alexa app, and we had it up and running in just a few minutes.
Our older Echo Dot connected to our surround sound system, but this model doesn't, so we lost that feature. I also prefer the more compact shape of the previous version, as this one feels a little bulkier. Look at the comparison in my photos.
Even with those changes, it's still a great smart speaker for the price. If you don't need an auxiliary port, you'll probably be very happy with the improved sound quality and easy setup.

More than a typical alarm
I bought this mainly to match the esthetic of my daughter’s bedroom which is pink and white. It’s a nice size, sits on her frame of her bed. It hooks up easily with my Alexa app. The only feature I wish it had was a time display. I didn’t realize that when I bought it. But you can ask Alexa for the time. lol! Sound quality is good to make announcements, play music or play an alarm. Or to ask it what is the joke of the day. My daughter created a routine with her alarm, favorite music station and to read off the weather so she knows how to dress for school (shorts vs pants, short sleeves vs sweater, boots vs sneakers, etc) No more “mom what’s the weather?!” It has helped her with organizing her morning routine. I can also drop in on her room to talk to her when I’m downstairs or at work and my daughter is upstairs in her bedroom. The call quality is just like a cell phone. If your child won’t answer their phone or has their door closed you can drop in or make an announcement even if you are not at home. It’s a helpful tool for parents.

Simple smart home device
Easy to use and set up
Durability is good, as my cats and my dogs have all knocked it off the counter and it still works like the day I got it.
Looks inconspicuous and easy to hide out of sight.
I like the color more than my old device, which was light blue and showed alot of dust despite being cleaned. This looks cleaner and wipes off easier than my last one.
Value for money is worth it, I use it for an alarm, in a pinch to turn my TV off when I can't find the remote, to find my phone, as a sound machine at night and for my dogs, amongst a bunch of other things. It works like it should
Other than that, good little alexa

Help I didn’t know I needed
I had never bothered to check out any of the Echo products, but it was Prime Day and too good a deal not to at least check out. I’ve been struggling for far too long without a working alarm clock, as I inevitably slam my phone alarm off without even waking up, so I thought I could maybe use this, which is ultimately why I purchased it, especially seeing that it could be connected to a light (smart lightbulb needed-I purchased the Dot package that came with one).
It’s just a cute little sphere-picture shows it next to 1L water bottle for comparison. Setup took minutes. I just downloaded the app and it took care of everything. I then went to making an alarm that could actually wake me. I set the time, chose a premade sound (because who isn’t in a better mood getting woken up by The Grand Tour guys?), set the light to turn on at 30% brightness and added ten minutes of Spotify. And-it works! I still fumble groggily around for a bit, but I’m awake. I can’t slap off the Dot and my brain can’t comprehend how to talk to Alexa, so I’m stuck with light and sound, but pro compared to some generic alarm clock, I at least get to hear my music and not a horrible beeping, and the volume is set to gradually get louder, so it allows me to wake up a little more gently. For anyone else who struggles with waking, highly, highly recommend this.
I’ve only experimented nominally with the “what else” of the Dot, but it’s a pleasant surprise. I added a weather report to my mornings. I found I can set “focus time” blocks with study music. I set a reminder to make a phone call Monday morning that I would surely forget by the end of this weekend. And there’s still more to explore.
Highly recommend adding in the smart light component-it’s just fun to play with the colors, but I can finally use my overhead light without being blinded since I can set % brightness.
As far as the Echo itself-I’m sensitive to light at night but I appreciate that the light ring is too dim to bother me. As far as sound, I have mainly used it to listen to music to fall asleep, and I like that it can go even quieter than my phone’s speaker. I turned it up to test it, and it may not have the bass of a subwoofer, but I find it a balanced sound, better quality than listening to my phone and at least at low volume, comparable to my higher end portable speaker.
Overall, an amazing deal on sale but worth the full price, imo.
