Arc Mount panoramic view is a great setup
I’ve used Blink cameras for a while, and these Mini 2K+ cameras are a noticeable upgrade. I bought the two-pack and mounted both together outside using the Blink Arc Mount, which is probably my favorite part of the setup. With the cameras angled in opposite directions, the Arc Mount combines their views into one really wide panoramic view. I can basically see my entire front yard, driveway, sidewalk, and street at once instead of constantly switching back and forth between two cameras. There is a small overlap/seam in the middle where the two views meet, but it doesn’t bother me and the amount of area it covers more than makes up for it.
The 2K picture is very clear and detailed, especially during the day. For such small cameras, I was actually surprised by how much of my property I can see with the panoramic setup. The Arc Mount also looks much cleaner than mounting two cameras separately and trying to get their angles lined up myself.
The smart detection has been another big improvement. The cameras can distinguish between people, vehicles, and other motion, so I’m not just getting the same generic motion notification for everything that moves. The camera will learn and recognize familiar faces and vehicles so that you can go in the settings and name those people or vehicles so that the notifications of motion will automatically tell you what it sees before having to look at the videos. Since mine face the street, vehicle detection is especially useful, and person detection makes it much easier to tell when someone is actually approaching the house. You can also choose which types of motion you want recorded.
Setup was straightforward, and I like that they’re plug-in cameras so I don’t have to keep checking or changing batteries. The app gives you plenty of options for adjusting motion detection and the cameras themselves.
One thing to know if you plan on putting them outside is that Blink requires a weather-resistant power adapter for outdoor use, which is sold separately. Mine are mounted under a covered area for some additional protection, but I still wish the outdoor power equipment was included.
Overall, I’m really happy with this setup. The combination of two Mini 2K+ cameras and the Arc Mount makes much more sense for my front yard than a single camera. The panoramic view, clearer 2K video, and separate person and vehicle detection are the features I’ve ended up appreciating the most.
