Easy to setup and use

Easy to install. Lights are bright and you can control the brightness, the length of time it stays on by motion, or just set it dusk to dawn. And you can turn on the light from the app.

If you don't have the sync module you will need to buy one.

The app is trash

The lights work good. Camera quality is pretty good. The camera doesn’t have very good mobility. I tried signing up for a subscription. It wouldn’t let me sign in. I reset the password, the password STILL isn’t working. Now it will not let me rest the password again. So I’m locked out of the whole system. I gave it a day to see if I just tried changing the passwords too quickly. No, still will not let me. So that’s cool. I don’t have a subscription so I can’t even see a preview of what the camera caught in the side of my house.

Works good

Works pretty good. The camera quality is not bad especially considering I got it on sale for $30. I’ll upload a video but I don’t know how good that’ll look uploaded here since it messes up the quality. The motion detection alerts are pretty accurate and fast responding. Another benefit is the flood lights are really bright which is nice when taking my dog outside. I’ll definitely be using the 2 way talk for solicitors from now on rather than answering the door and getting stuck outside

Be better then that Blink

I bought this wired spotlight and after maybe 6 months it stopped working. When troubleshooting i found that water had gotten into the lights and the wiring area. Blink owned it and sent me a replacement spotlight. Now for the second time my spotlight quit working and sure enough there is water in it only this time I'm told that the water voids the warranty and they will not replace the spotlight. If its meant to be an outdoor spotlight how would water getting inside void a warranty? Unfortunately blink will not longer be providing me with my home cameras.

No more buying batteries

I’ve been very happy with the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera. The installation was straightforward, and the app made setup quick and easy. The floodlights are extremely bright and provide excellent visibility at night, while the HD video is clear during both the day and night.

The motion detection is reliable, and I like that I receive alerts on my phone whenever movement is detected. Two-way audio works well, making it easy to communicate with visitors or delivery drivers. It also integrates smoothly with Alexa, which is a nice bonus.

Overall, this is a great security camera for the price. It offers dependable performance, good image quality, and bright lighting that helps keep my property secure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and effective outdoor security camera.

Bright but doesn’t stay connected

EDIT: 7/27- haven’t had a disconnection in a while, even with excruciating heat in south GA. updated to 4 stars, will give feedback if issues arise

For context, paid about $30 for this wired floodlight on sale. For that price, I GUESS it’s worth it, I couldn’t justify paying more. For a sole security system, I wouldn’t rely on it.

Only Pro: shockingly bright floodlight

Con: as others mention, drops connectivity frequently, I’ve only had it a few days, first day being the worst. However, I configured my T mobile modem to 2.4ghz and used a separate sync module solely for this unit. (I had an extra sync module laying around) this fixed the connectivity issue temporarily, but it has still gone out intermittently, requiring switching the light switch on/off and letting the camera reset. This wouldn’t be a big deal if you could do it through the app, but if you’re away from the house and can’t physically reset it, it’s useless.

Some users notice a correlation with heat/summer. For context, I do live in south Ga where it is hot, but connection has gone out in the morning when heat would not be a factor.

I do have other Blink BATTERY operated cameras that work pretty well in the same general location so it’s not the end of the world, but like I said, if this is going to be your sole security, I’d avoid due to reliability.

Maybe Blink will find a solution, but I’ve read dozens of threads with users having the same issue.

Excellent Floodlight Camera with Crystal‑Clear Video

Fantastic camera. Super bright floodlights, excellent video quality, and instant motion alerts. Setup was quick, the app is intuitive, and the wired connection keeps everything stable. Captured a visiting fox on video recently. Great value and rock‑solid performance.

Stays on zero and incredibly cheap. Did…

Bright light, good quality video

Amazing light, works great, picture is awesome.

I needed a bright floodlight for my carport and yes, this is bright. Captures footage relatively easily, it works great. You can’t beat this for the price it was.

Only hassle was wiring it up, but a couple of Wago connectors and a junction box took about ten minutes.

Add it to your cart thank me later☺️

Great buy!!! Easy to install and connect to module. You can turn brightness up on the light. It’s light up my whole street when I have the light set all the way up. Excellent sound quality I can hear the neighbors talking. 🤣

I will be getting one for my backyard to make sure no kids try to jump over my 6ft privacy fence and get in my pool. My favorite thing is you can set the light for motion sensor and if the light is triggered by motion, person or animal an alarm sound will go off!!! Aka cat driving my pool water!!! Not this year. 😂😂😂😂😂

Better then expected

I had the doorbell camera and it was annoying bcuz no matter how much I changed the sensitivity it kept going off with the wind and thinks not on the graph, but this camera is way better then it, the flood light is hella bright which is what I want bcuz I don’t have a porch light

It's takes clear videos as soon as someone enters my driveway

Works great when it's working, but every time it rains, it stops working and somehow keeps tripping my breaker box.

UPDATED REVIEW: Dedicated customer service team

Previously, I left a scathing, one star review. My cameras had poor performance that declined over time, and my cameras were out of warranty. When I needed to add more cameras, I decided to remove all my Blink components and go with another brand. I left a review not expecting resolution, but hoping to help others avoid an unsatisfactory experience (again, cameras out of warranty period).

After my review went live, Blink reached out and asked me to allow them to remotely access the base, and run a speed test on my network. I did this, and an hour later, "Alex" from Blink sent out 2 new cameras.

The 2 new cameras are working wonderfully, and I am completely satisfied. What's more, Blink never asked me to change my review. They just asked if I was now happy. I am.

IF you are experiencing problems, Blink works quickly to make it right, and doesn't ask you to jump through hoops.

Not terrible if you get a decent one

Okay, I have a LOT of Blink cameras, I bought this one for my back yard, and during winter months, when it gets below 32*, this one stops working. After contacting tech support, they told me it was my network. Thirteen other cameras are working fine. I reset my network and camera anyway, still the same issue, and they still tell me it’s my network. I purchased a replacement, and it works JUST FINE. They STILL refuse to say that the camera has a problem. So, the problematic camera works during summer months, but in the winter, we’re literally left in the dark.

Blink to the rescue.

My Blink cams saved us from a broken car window. At 4:49 in the morning our camera alerted us to motion. I checked the camera feed and there was a kid scoping out the inside of our car. Some junivile delinquents have been going around breaking into vehicles. Got the neighbor down the street a few nights ago. I opened the bedroom window and yelled at him that the police were on the way. Might have thrown in a few explicitives as well. He ran before the police got here, but also before he broke into our vehicle.

Wont stay connected to Wi-Fi, light does not come on

We have owned these cameras for about 6 months now so I have given it time before writing a negative review. When they work they are great we like been able to talk and listen through the camera. we have 3 cameras the one in the driveway constantly disconnects and is offline daily will reset on it's own sometimes. other times have to remove and reinstall it in the app or it just does not work at all no recording is made no lights come on even though it's connected. the office door camera light never wants to come on it will record but no light. the one in the back yard works good it is also furthest camera from wifi router so there is no way it's a router issue. the office camera is on the side of the wall from the router and the driveway camera is maybe 15 feet from the router. Security is the whole reason for buying these floodlight cameras if the light does not come on or if it won't detect or stay connected it's completely useless.

Update: 4/13/2024 Contacted customer service about one of the floodlight cameras and they sent a replacement. was contacted by customer support after giving 2 star review and they sent out a replacement floodlight camera. both have been installed they sent them out priority shipping 2 day which was great. We did not receive a preprinted paid return shipping label in either box. reached out to customer support again they BLAMED UPS said they were suppose to put it in box. sent me an email with the labels I told them I don't have a printer they said to contact UPS that's all they can do. I sent an e-mail to the person who reached out to me about the review and he stated to just throw the old ones away.

NOW one of the new floodlight cameras is offline again had to delete and reinstall twice already only been 2 days. MY 2 star review is NOW a 1 star review they just don't work good.

A great outdoor camera with flood lights

This is a great Blink outdoor camera with flood lights. If you already have an outdoor light fixture, this is a perfect solution for you. It's only $89.99 too.

The other solution for a camera with flood lights is the Outdoor 4 Floodlight Camera which is essentially the Outdoor 4th generation camera with the battery powered dual flood light camera mount. This costs $129.99, or purchased separately, the mount is $39.99 and the camera is $99.99.

So, like I said, if you already have an outdoor fixture, and you're willing to replace it with this floodlight camera combination, this is your best bet.

Installation was easy, and took about 15 minutes from taking down the old light fixture, installing the Blink Wired Floodlight Camera, adding to my Blink account, and setting up the camera settings. The camera is very well designed and well made. The lights' aim can be adjusted individually. I added some of the screenshots from the app to this review so you can see what settings are available.

One thing I wish the Blink app had was the shortcut to turn the floodlights' motion detection on and off right on the device list. This would benefit those with the wired and battery powered units. I made an image in Photoshop and added it to this review. I submitted a feature request to Blink, so we shall see what they say.

Clear video & bright flood lights

I bought four floodlight camera units over a month ago, two for my house & two for my barn. I installed round electric boxes for a proper wire connection and strong mount for the cameras. They all picked up my Star Link WiFi signal even with the barn being over 200 ft away. One time the camera on the barn went offline, so I called customer support, the assistant was able to access my camera with my permission. They told me that my signal was low for that camera. Come to find out my wife was doing a video conferencing for work on our internet at that time, I moved the Starlink antenna to a higher position and reloaded the camera, the camera came back online and we haven’t had an issue since. The video is very clear in color. I have the cameras setup up to send me a message on my phone. A few times I have used the sirens to scare unwanted dogs and cats off my property and the audio system to tell our dogs to come into the house. My wife and I like that it saves the video clips for future reference. We decided to buy the year subscription for unlimited cameras for one year. I like the hardwire system over the battery system because I don’t want to change out batteries, it is extra work to hardwire each camera, but I think its worth it! The floodlights are very bright. My wife and I enjoy this low cost security system and highly recommend it!

Easy to install and setup.

Bought the doorbell, wired floodlight and control hub for my wife for Christmas. Have since added another wired floodlight after seeing how everything went.

Very clear picture. I can now watch the deer eat my bird seed every night.

Not made to last

Well after a year it is now having issues , keeps dropping connection and have to manually reset it and now the colors are acting up as well you can see In the video the colors are fine up to about 30 seconds in then it turns pinkish purple my guess it the sensor is going bad , what a waste of money

Superb camer and light combo

We previously had other home cameras installed, they were smart cameras that plugged in and had to be mounted separate from the lights. So there were tons of wires. These cameras are attached to the lights and are hardwired in so its 1 product vs having a camera and light fixture and separate plug. It is much less stuff on the outside of my house and looks cleaner. The cameras look no different than my previous light fixtures that had the motion detection on them. The lights are adjustable but they are prettybright, there is no hiding in the shadows when they come on. The app allows you to adjust the motion sensitivity, and how long the camera records and/or light stays on when motion is detected. You can also set the lights to come on at dusk and off at dawn. My only complaint would be that there are no capabilities to have schedules within the app for the lights to come on and off at a certain time and then be triggered by motion. It would be nice to have the lights on until I got home and then switch to motion. With my previous smart lights I had the capability to set them to a schedule and then to motion after 9PM. My previous smart lights however would lose connection to the wifi and would come on when the power dropped or surged which was frustrating to have to wait for them to reconnect and then shut them off. These lights/camera you can set and forget. I have had no issues with them losing connectivity. THe isntallation process was easy, they even have a little hook to hang while you are wiring the light so you aren't trying to wire and hold it at the same time, very convenient. Installation was very easy. The QR code is on the fixture itself but they also include a QR code in the box to scan. Cameras are fully adjutable and can be mounted on the eave or wall. I didn't see many pictures with these mounted on the eaves, but I have had no issues and the website does say you can mount that way. The camera picture is phenomenal, its a wide angle and captures everything. We were able to replace all of our outdoor fixtures with these, increase the cameras we have so our entire property is covered by cameras and the lights are much brighter than our ould lights, plus we have less clutter on the eaves/walls. One of my best home improvement purchases. Would highly recommend.

Could be brighter

They aren't necessarily bad but I wouldn't call them good. Had some on4u floodlights before with the blink door bell camera. Sadly those kill the battery. So we went to this and we'll they do an OK job lighting up the area I wish it was a bit more. Also the adjustable lighting on the app I can barely tell a difference when it's on the lowest vs the most bright. Onto the cameras this is where they skimped out on quality. If they could improve those it would be an amazing setup. Where these guys did well was including everything you need to install the system yourself if you already had a light in a box before.

Easy replacement for my floodlights

Blink Wired Floodlight Camera

My familiarity with Blink cameras is limited to the Blink Minis and the Blink Doorbell and the Sync Modules. I have been reluctant to purchase any of the battery powered outdoor cameras because I don't want to climb up on a ladder to constantly replace batteries. The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera is Blink's first outdoor camera that doesn't require batteries.

I purchased the camera to replace an existing motion floodlight that had stopped working. The previous fixture was mounted to an outdoor 4-inch diameter electrical box--exactly what is required for the installation of the Blink product. That made installation and setup simple. After shutting the power off, I removed the old fixture and replaced it with the Blink assembly. Blink provided all of the necessary hardware including an S hook to keep the camera hanging while made the necessary connections. Once everything was in place, I powered up the camera and installed it into my existing Blink system using the app. Connecting with the app requires inputting the camera's serial number or scanning the QR code on the back of the camera. I've always scanned the QR code on the camera, but that code is also affixed to the front page of the Quick Start Guide--a nice alternative since scanning the back of camera would be difficult after mounting. Total install time including configuring the app took about 20 minutes.

It's important to note that the camera uses the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz frequency which generally offers much better range than 5GHz. With 2.4 GHz, there's less attenuation of the signal as it passes through the interior and exterior walls of the building. That's probably why Blink uses 2.4GHz WiFi on all of its cameras. Some Blink outdoor cameras including my doorbells also use a lower 900 MHz band to connect to the sync module. This camera does not appear to have this function. It connects solely through your WiFi LAN.

The camera's app settings are similar to other Blink cameras with the addition of floodlight control and some other goodies not seen in the other Blink models. The first is "person detection," flagged in the app as Beta. This is a welcome feature as it should filter out many unwanted motion alerts. In my case, I want to record animals as well as people strolling through my yard so probably won't use it for this location. Motion clip recording length is now up to 60 seconds, twice as long as my Blink Minis.

The camera is equipped with two bright LED floodlights which can be aimed according to preference. When the camera detects motion after dusk, the floodlights come on or it can leave them off for a more stealth recording using only the night vision. The floodlights can also be set for continuous use, dusk to dawn. They can also be turned on and off from the live view screen, the thumbnail screen or with an Alexa command. Because the floodlights can be switched from an Alexa routine, you could set up these cameras around the exterior of your house and have them all come on when motion is detected by any camera.

Another feature from the "more actions" screen during a live view is an audible siren. Presently, I have only been able to activate it from the app while in the live view mode. In the future, you may be able to set up an Alexa routine that would sound the siren when motion is detected on select cameras, such as an interior camera.

Overall, the Wired Floodlight Camera fit my needs perfectly. It quickly mounted in my existing box and attached to my current Blink system, replacing floodlights and adding a camera. Picture quality is as good or better than my other Blink cameras. And, there are no batteries to change.

Patrick

Love this new addition to my blink system!

I was struggling with my old backyard floodlight not being bright enough and turning off after 15 seconds of use. After seeing this listed under the coming soon section of blink I was excited to try it out.

Install was super easy and very straightforward with the instructions. In a matter of 15 minutes I had everything connected and mounted.

I really liked how easy it was to add it to my existing grandfathered Blink account. Just scanned the QR code on the back and followed the prompts.

Customizing the device was easy and these are the options you can configure:

*General*

-Toggle Status light ON/OFF

*Motion*

-Enable motion detection including retrigger time, sensitivity, and clip length

*Video and Photo*

-Night vision, IR intensity, and video quality

*Audio*

-Enable audio and speaker volume

*Floodlight*

-Floodlight brightness, auto on off during dusk/dawn, motion activation, and timeout after motion and manual activation

Video quality and floodlight brightness is great and I really feel like for $100 this is a bargain.
