Fun-damentals (and Beyond) - Great Chord Melody Insights by One of Jazz Guitar’s Best!
As guitar players, we’re fortunate to have this book. Bruce thoughtfully shares his perspective of how he approaches playing (and, you don’t get much better than Bruce!). From an honest and useful take on the CAGED system, to many aspects of chord melody - integrating everything into useful “moves.” Wes type block chords, comping, 2 note lines, voice leading, ii/Vs, dim substitutions and much more I haven’t got into yet! All sprinkled with heartfelt insights and commentary, which gives the feeling of “I can do this.” I also have his first GuitarVIVO book, which lays out how he plays some of his Instagram “First Chorus of the Day” performances. IMO, this new book is much more focused and useful for making improvements😉. There’s over 100 pages of enough information to keep you (me, anyway) busy for months! Lots of light bulb moments😁. There are support videos… and, std/tab/chord blocks throughout the book. For the price of a lunch… just grab it.
