Received KVM Switch. It came without a remote switch. I plugged it into my 2 laptops and set it up. FOR HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT does not work. it will not switch between 2 laptops and 2 displays. RETURNED

Not well build
Having issue with this product. Every time the switch gets bumped or moved, the switch disconnects and reconnects. The port on the switch have too much play. Seller suggested clip a small piece of tissue on the side where the USB cable and USB port are connected to ensure that the port won't loosen,...... seriously.... tissue.

Excellent, well laid out and compact.
This is a great little device to connect four computers to your monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I also put the webcam on it as well so the webcam is always connected to the active computer.
The HDMI and USB connection from each computer connects in the back as well as the output to the monitor and the power cord. Four USB inputs are on the front for your mouse and keyboard and in my case webcam. That leaves one that I often plug in flash drive so that I can transfer files from one computer to the other without unplugging the drive.
There are individual push buttons and LEDs for switching between the four inputs. As well as a remote switch to cycle through them if you want to use it. Plus a power switch right on the front as well. Everything is very well laid out and very compact.
My only issue is that on Windows 11 PCs only, sometimes when switching to that computer, there is no video. You can try switching to a different computer and back again, which often works. Or use the windows key, shift key, control key and the letter B to reset the video card in the PC. I give the kvm switch five stars nonetheless, because this is a Microsoft problem, not a problem with the product.

Works well, keep in mind the cables though
Great little switch! If youve got several computers and only limited space to work with, this works pretty nicely. The cables are not as tight as expected and I only realized the flaw months later, but only happens with one set. Otherwise, it's been pretty durable without any problems with button presses.
I have this powered by a 2024 mini PC, an older 2010 Asus custom PC, and a 2024 dell laptop - all working easily and beautifully together. No compatibility or connection issues other theman the one mentioned but that's the nature of USB-A. Next upgrade will include USB C, but that's my next version upgrade!

Product not as shown in pictures or manual, missing a USB port
Works fine, but the product is not as shown in the pictures or included manual. The pictures and manual show 4 USB-C peripheral ports and a USB-C port for the switch extender button.
The actual product I received only has 3 USB-C ports on the front, along with the switch port (USB-micro B, not USB-C as shown) and a DC power port for the included power adapter. The model number is the same on the sticker as the listing here, KVM8201.

Complicated Setup but works great after I figured out what I did wrong
I have a dual monitor setup and I needed a KVM switch to seamlessly switch from my work pc to my personal pc. At first, I didn’t know what cables I needed so I watched a couple of videos online. My switch wasn’t working at first because I got a few HDMI to DP cables. After trouble shooting, the KVM will ONLY work if you have cables with the SAME ends (HDMI to HDMI & DP to DP). For those that said it does not work, see if you had the same issue as me. My set up is a little messy as it’s a lot of cables but it works. I highly recommend buying a USB hub or two to plug in your peripherals as your devices will overheat if plugged into the KVM directly. Haven’t had a major issue yet.

Incredible KVM — feature-packed
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Incredible KVM — feature-packed, but missing a crucial cable for RS232 control
This is a fantastic 10-port HDMI KVM switch. It handles 10 computers, delivers flawless 4K@60Hz video, shares USB 3.0 devices seamlessly, and includes audio switching, EDID simulation, and even wired remote support. It’s rock-solid and works exactly as advertised — no complaints on the performance front. 👏
The KVM also includes an RS232 serial control port, which allows you to automate switching (for example, sending X3,1$ over serial to switch to PC 3). This is a powerful feature if you're managing a rack or scripting your environment.
👉 But here’s the catch:
They don’t include the RS232 cable — and the manual simply says:
“Please prepare RS232 serial cable by yourself.”
That sounds simple, but it leads to a common pitfall:
Most USB-to-serial adapters today output TTL logic levels (0–5V) — not true RS232 voltage levels (±12V).
The KVM expects real RS232 signaling, and TTL adapters won’t work. I learned this the hard way.
✅ Here’s the correct solution (works perfectly):
USB to RS232 Adapter with Phoenix 3-pin Output:
OREI USB to RS-232 Phoenix Serial Cable (7ft):
→ This adapter outputs proper ±12V RS232 levels and connects directly to the KVM's RS232 screw terminals (TX, RX, GND). No level shifting required. No soldering or extra wiring. Just plug it in and go.
🟢 Performance: Flawless
🟢 Video quality: Beautiful 4K60
🟢 Switching: Fast and responsive
🟢 RS232 automation: Works great — once you have the right adapter
🔴 Missing cable: Would be nice to include or at least recommend one
Final verdict:
This is one of the best HDMI KVM switches I’ve ever used, but don’t get tripped up by the RS232 cable situation. Just grab the OREI adapter above, and you’ll unlock the full power of scripted KVM control. Highly recommended.

Good price, short cables
So far this product works great. The selection controller is nice and makes changing devices simple.
Linux and windows both detect a function properly without lag or disconnecting constantly like others.
One issue, the usb cables are only 3ft long and do not reach my multiple units.
Had to purchase 6ft cables some didn't work, others only detected at 2.0 usb speeds.
Took one star off for cables.

Just what I was looking for! Quick easy switching to my 4k120hz TV/Monitor
At my desk, I have my primary 'everything computer' on one side of the desk, and my server on the other.
Thanks to this KVM switch, I no longer have to keep a 2nd keyboard & mouse plugged into the server, nor do I need to switch the input on the TV/monitor.
With just one click of a button, I can switch back and forth between both systems.
Since it's rated for 8k@60Hz, I figured that meant it could handle the bandwidth of a 4k120hz 10-bit signal, and yes, it absolutely can.
Fantastic!

Quality switcher. Questionable button arrangement. BRIGHT green LEDs.
This seems like a high quality switcher from the circuit and case.
I like that both the case and the remote have individual buttons to switch (no cycling through all 4 machines). The buttons are arranged in a cross (same on the remote). Clockwise from the top they are: 3 2 4 1. I think this is bad.
I'm using it just as a peripheral switcher so I don't really need the USB 3.0, but I've had device initialization issues with other cheap switchers in the past so I thought this might be a step up in quality. It is.
The green LEDs are overbright. I appreciate that they used light pipes, and diffused the tops, but they're still way too bright. I put a dab of silicone RTV on the LEDs inside the case, and they're still brighter than I prefer.
== Circuit / Internals ==
The build is a bit of work to take apart because the LED light guides, and buttons are inserted after assembly. Even though the LED guides are frosted on top I still found the LEDs too bright.
The first thing I see in the circuit is a separate DC input. This isn't necessary, but it can let you switch without any machine powered on. Also each USB PC port seems to provide power through a diode so they will all remain isolated from each other. I think this will prevent weird issues with some USB devices.
They lasered the part numbers off the main chips, but not 100% so I can make some guesses about what they are. There are 3 'secret' chips: the USB 2.0 switch, USB 3.0 switch, and USB 3.0 4-port hub.
- The USB 2.0 switch is a TI part. 16-TSSOP 2-channel 4:1 switch. Maybe something like SN74LV4052.
- The USB 3.0 switch is a WCH part. It's a 42-QFN, and switches two differential channels in a 4:1 configuration. A good match might be WCH CH484M.
- The USB 3.0 hub comes from Genesys Logic. At first I was leaning towards GL3523, but the diff. pair layout doesn't match up. GL3510 looks like a good match in a 64-QFN.
Aside from that there's some power circuitry, and an unknown microcontroller hanging out on the back of the circuit board. It reads the buttons/remote, controls LEDs, and triggers the switch chips.

It works great for mouse and keyboard with some caveats
What I liked:
• It works well for switching mouse and keyboard among 4 computers.
• Up to 4 USB devices can be switched/shared.
• Button Switch + Wired Remote to control the port.
• The device is very compact and takes up a small amount of desk space.
• Cables are included.
Some caveats:
• When switching to another port, there is a bit of delay for mouse and keyboard to respond. The delay is a bit longer than expected.
• External hard disk drive (HDD) is not recognized without extra power provided by external micro-USB cable. When external micro-USB cable is connected to provide more power, HDD is recognized by computer. However, transfer speed is not as high as direct connection.
• The switch button of the port number is not well designed. It would be nice if it is aligned with the actual port number.
In overall, the switch works as described with some caveats mentioned above.

Got it today. Quick hookup today. Connected 2 PCs and a Mac Mini to a dual bay hard drive caddy. Both hard drives showed up on each computer with a touch of a button. The wired remote makes it so easy to put away the main connector and have only it on my desk top. Now that I know that everything works. I will secure proper mounting places

Compact main unit with good buttons. Awful remote button unit.
I got this for the three PCs I normally have under the desk running different operating systems, and for any fourth one for testing. Unplugging USB cables gets old fast and this is a useful thing to have. I like the main unit is nice but I am disappointed with the remote.
Main box is compact and well-built. Buttons press easily. Very bright current PC indicator lights.
Remote switcher is awful. Buttons barely stick up, and require significant force to click. One button was harder to press and didn't make a click.
Switching worked between three PCs under test (Linux and Windows). It took 3-5 seconds before the keyboard would type on the new computer after each switch (varied depending on keyboard I tried).
Worked without external power with keyboard and mouse, though voltage at USB ports is lower (4.8V). External power keeps USB voltage above 5V even with hard drives.

Overall it’s really helpful
So I bought this KVM switch about a month ago so I could quickly and easily switch between my PS5 and PC without having to change a bunch of cords around and it’s been perfect so far. Only problem is the weight makes it hard to mount under a desk. I tried to mount it using 4 3m adhesive strips but it keeps falling down and it’s really annoying and I don’t have the desk space to put in on the top of the desk. I also have an ikea desk and not a wood one so I can’t really use anything that involves screwing it to the bottom. If anyone has any ideas on how to mount it please let me know.

2-to-1 KVM switch for 4k!
I needed a KVM switch would could support my keyboard, mouse, usb microphone, and a fourth usb device. Additionally, I needed it to support two computers and deliver 4k @ 120hz.
Notes: I did not use the included wired remote as I mounted the KVM under my desk in such a way that the remote would be redundant.
PROS:
- Everything switches from one computer to the other within about 5 seconds
- Construction feels solid
- Has green and blue LEDs so you know which computer you are switched to at a glance
CONS:
- You will need to have 3 HDMI cables
- Windows will be re-positioned when swapping back and forth between computers which can be annoying

Easy to set up, seemless switching between two PCs
Included in the box is the KVM switch, two USB-A cables and a wired remote switch that connects to the USB-C port of the KVM switch. You just press the button either on the KVM switch or remote to toggle between PC1 and PC2. The USB cables are about 4 and a half feet long. The KVM toggle switch is also around the same length and is useful if you want to tuck the KVM switch and cables away under a monitor tray or just place them out of sight.
There is no external power supply. The KVM switch is powered by the USB connections. Once you have the USB cable connected to a PC or laptop that is powered on, you will see the light turn on.
My set up consists of a Dell Latitude 7490 laptop and an older Dell Inspiron PC with a 42 inch LG UHD monitor. My laptop is for work and I use my desktop PC for stock trading, personal finances and web browsing. I have a Logitech MX Keys keyboard and MX Master 2 mouse. It's much easier now to just toggle the KVM switch versus having to press buttons on both the Logitech keyboard and mouse for when I want to switch between my laptop and desktop PC. The process is seemless.
I didn't have an 8K capable monitor to test so I can't speak to that. This KVM works just fine with my LG monitor set at 3840 x 2160 (4K) resolution.

Works exactly as promised
The hardware itself is solid and has some weight to it. I ordered this for my husband who runs two companies. He has two home offices, both with multiple monitors. This gives him the ability to easily swap between them. He says it works great and the connection is fast and clean. He said it’s worth noting that it only supports HDMI. It has two cables, but you’ll need one additional HDMI cord to get everything connected, which we have extras so it worked out fine. Overall, it was an easy set up and works great.

Handles my 1440p @ 144hz just fine
I’ve worked from home for over a decade, and my own 27” monitor is a far better display than anything my employer issues. If you’re over 40, I expect you’ll appreciate that. For me, this makes a KVM switch essential. This is now my 4th KVM switch, and thus far, I’m very happy with it. The footprint is small, just 4.5” X 2.5”, and the metallic box appears to be well constructed. HDMI cables are not included, but it did come with with two apparently quality USB 3.0 cables for the PCs, which I thought to be a nice touch. Connecting things was a breeze for me, but if you’re new to KVM switches, they have a helpful little video in the product photos.
My last KVM switch connected by USB-C and utilized Displayport. My work computer didn’t like it and would stop recognizing the input at random, requiring me to restart the computer to get things working again. I have had no such issues with this switch and its trusty USB and HDMI connections. Switching between computers is quick and smooth, an acceptable 2 – 3 seconds. I can’t speak to the 4k/8k capabilities, but I can confirm that this KVM switch handles 1440p @ 144hz just fine, with no noticeable lag.
As for cons, I’d personally prefer if all connections were on the back of the device rather than having the peripherals connect on the front. I know that would increase the footprint, but I think the aesthetics would be worth it for me. One other feature I’d like would be the ability to switch by keystroke rather than the little button. Nevertheless, I’m happy with the switch as it is, and see no reason to drop a star for failing to meet my personal preferences.

Works perfect 4K HDR 120hz
I have spent the last few days working with and testing this KVM.
First off, the build quality is great. It is enclosed in metal housing and the included cables are thick and durable. They include the 2 USB 3.0 cables and then the “switch” button cable. The button cable seems cheaper. I am close enough to the switch I do not use it.
The device itself is powered via USB, so no power plug is necessary. I do wish the USB Inputs were on the back as well, since I don’t exactly like to see them sticking out facing me, but it is useful for quickly plugging in USB Sticks at least.
I have this KVM connected to my 48” OLED using certified 8K HDMI 2.1 cables, and it passes through perfectly. I do not notice any image degradation or latency issues. I tested everything and I still get my full 4K HDR @ 120Hz when gaming or watching video. Perfect!
I am using this with my work MacBook Pro, and it again has no issues. Working as though they were hooked up directly, I had no issues.
Swapping back and forth took about 2 seconds on my desktop, and maybe 6 seconds on the MacBook.
After a few days of working with this, I have experienced no issues. Take note that there is no EDID Emulation on this KVM, so when switching back and forth your windows could shift… if this is an issue or you want to definitely avoid this, I do believe the seller has a few KVM with EDID Emulation built in. I was fine with no EDID though.
So again, this a great device that fit all my needs, it seems durable and I have experienced no issues!

8K HDMI KVM Switch
This is a very well made KVM Switch, metal housing. I do wish it had rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn’t move on the desk. Comes with 2 USB A 3.0 cables & an extension to switch monitors if the KVM switch box was out of reach. I’m only using 4K & looks fantastic. Computer 1 is Windows & 2 is a MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro only has USB C for connections so I got HDMI to USB C & USB A to USB C cables.

SUBSTANTIAL FEATURES AND FIRST CLASS CONSTRUCTION
I’m above average on home entertainment and computer tech…but I still get
dizzy when I read the specs of the endless models of HMDI switching devices.
Because each one offers a slightly different menu of features, I just honestly drive by the specs and just compare the price and the precise connection requirements I have.
Most electronic failures I’ve had either involve a power supply, connector or
UI software issue. Failure of an HDMI switcher I think will came far down the list of
‘things that fail’. So just select by your needs I suggest?
* and note it also has a switch extender which is a thoughtful and useful feature!

Works Great But Missing Some Cables
This device works perfectly allowing me to share a keyboard, mouse, and monitor between a Windows PC and a Mac Mini. It takes about 2s for the monitor to switch between devices, but that is slightly faster than my old KVM switch.
Pros:
- Works as advertised
- Includes a sticky pad to adhere the remote-control button to your desk
- Small form factor
- Doesn't require any power
Cons:
- Doesn't include any HDMI cables. You will need three in total. Many other KVM switches include 2 HDMI cables.
- The remote-control button is quite small and feels cheap
- I would prefer all connections to be on the back but that is subjective.

Works really well
This KVM works really well. I use it for my MacBook Pro and an HP laptop. Very convenient to be able to switch between the two. It also allows for up to 4 computers so I have room to grow if I need it. They include cables to get you hooked up. It is just USB-A and HDMI though. So if your computer or devices are different (eg. USB-C or DisplayPort) you will need to get an adapter to plug it in. It has no issue switching back and forth between the computers. Every now and then, my trackball will not work after switching, if I unplug it’s receiver then plug it back in it will work again. I like that there is an On/Off switch on the device so if you are going to be away for an extended period of time you can power it off. It does come with an extension cable and switch button if you wish to hide the kvm and just have the button on your desktop. If you plug a lot of thick cables into the back and have the kvm on your desktop edge, it will have a tendency to rock up and not sit flat. But this is a minor annoyance compared to how well the device works. And the metal construction feels sturdy so I don’t have to worry about it cracking anytime soon.

Works great to switch between multiple computers
I work in IT and often have to work on multiple systems at the same time. Most of the stuff I work on are laptops to I don't need the video control, just the ability to use my main keyboard and mouse on multiple systems. At first I connected up three computers to just switch a keyboard, mouse and printer. I do have a fourth computer I'll be working on but this is all I needed for now. After confirming my mechanical keyboard and cordless mouse work fine with all three computers I broke out the HDMI cables. It seems that the video switching also works flawlessly and I can confirm that for me - this was an excellent choice to switch four USB ports and an HDMI video output between four computers (I did dig out a fourth to confirm that the inputs for four also work). For the price and for what this KVM switch does - I am very happy with how this works.

Solid KVM Switch and Great Computer Switching Capacity
I ordered this product to clean up my desktop and consolidate input peripherals. I am replacing a 2 computer KVM switch due to the fact that I have another computer to add and no additional capacity on the 2 computer KVM.
This device is well-built and has a solid metal housing. It's AC powered and the plug comes with the switch.
The mechanical buttons are solid and the switching is smooth and quick. There are buttons on the KVM switch to flip between computers and there is a remote wired switch and can be used. I haven't discovered a keyboard combination that was a neat feature on older KVM switches.
The kit comes with USB 3.0 cables for each computer, a single HDMI cable (presumably to connect from the KVM switch to the monitor), the remote KVM switch device and the AC power adapter.
Sadly, you have to provide your own HDMI cables for each computer. It would have been a nice feature at this price point to have the USB and HDMI cable merged together and 1 provided per computer. This is where I am removing a star.
I'm really liking this KVM switch and the great capacity.
