Nice Amp. Plenty of power for a home studio or practice with a headset.

I like it! This amp has plenty of power and the headset jack that I needed to practice silently on my electronic drum kit. I can balance the inputs and get just the right sound. Definitely recommend.

The DM20 watt amp is nice as well but does NOT have a headset jack.

A Really Good Monitor

For a basic 30W personal monitor, this is a really good option, but this Coolmusic 30W Amplifier really isn't powerful enough for anything else.At a price-point slightly higher than some, there is a lot of competition for these electronics.

Great Multifunctional Amp

I have an electronic drum kit that I amplify when playing with band mates.

This amp does a very good job of amplifying my drum kit.

But - this amp is good at amplifying my electronic keyboard also.

The coolest use - is for amping my electric guitars.

This amp has a super cool and unique tone that my other amps do not have.

One of favorite features is that it can tilted to 45 degrees or used in standard upright position.

Other than the cool uniques sound and tone - it has 2 input channels.

When using my delay pedal, which has 2 outputs - a Wet and Dry output.

With the input channels - with separate volume controls - it is possible to obtain a great mix of the wet and dry sound.

I provide this amplifier my Highest Recommendation.

Works great as a full-range acoustic/clean/modeling guitar amp too!

I plan to use this for both a keyboard and acoustic guitar amp, as well as a full-range modeling amp, but I don’t play drums so I can’t speak to that. However, as an acoustic guitar amp, or even just a standard “clean” guitar amp, this device is great. Obviously, the full spectrum response will work great for keyboards too.

Here are a few things to know, and some disagreement with some other reviewers:

1) The EQ works great. You can get a LOT of low end by cranking it up. Of course you may need to adjust the EQ on your device, if it has one (my acoustic guitars do). The EQ bands are independent of each other (as they should be), and not like a vintage FMV tone stack. They are very responsive, and have strong impacts on the tone. I got some solid, floor rumbling bass, and I got crystal clear high harmonics. I’m very pleased with the EQ.

2) If you want to use this as just a regular electric guitar amp, you can dial in a “scoop” sound easily enough by turning up the low and high, and dialing down the mid. It sounds great, but of course only clean. However, this makes it perfect to use as a modeling amp too.

3) It’s clean and clear all the way up to max volume. I never got any clipping. This is a solid full-frequency range amp. This will work great as a modeling amp, I think, though I haven’t tested it that way yet.

4) It’s particularly good at sharp, percussive sounds, like emphasizing the pick attack on a guitar string. I presume this would be good for drums as well.

5) It has two inputs that are both on all the time. They have independent volume controls, but share the same EQ. Sharing the same EQ is not ideal, but it’s actually really nice that CoolMusic even put the second input on this amp, since most amps in this price range don’t even have a second input.

6) The Bluetooth works great, and shows up as “DM30.” It has forward/back/play/pause controls on the amp, but no volume for the BT signal. You need to control that from your device. The BT signal sounds surprisingly good for Bluetooth, with no annoying background hiss.

7) It has an Aux input that is very confusingly labeled “Phone.” I thought this meant “head phones” at first, but it doesn’t. It’s just the Aux input, and it has its own volume control. I wish they had run the BT signal through this volume control as well, and not sure why they didn’t.

8) The actual headphones output works fine, but is a bit noisy, with some annoying background hiss. I’ll probably never use this headphone jack, so it’s not an issue for me.

9) It has a USB input to play music files directly from a USB drive. I did not test this function, however, the instructions imply that the forward/back/play/pause BT controls will work to control the USB playback as well. I’m not sure how you would control the volume of this playback though. . . maybe it uses the Aux volume knob? Sorry I didn’t check this out for you.

10) It’s powered by 18V, 3A power supply (included), and it can be set with either the speaker at a right angle to the floor, or tilted back at about a 30 degree angle. Some nice versatility there.

11) It doesn’t get quite as loud as I expected. It does get pretty loud, but it never got so loud it hurt my ears. Turning up the EQ helps, but overall it’s a bit quieter than some other 30W amps. Don’t get me wrong, it’s plenty loud enough for home practice or even playing a very small venue.

12) It has a DI/Line out, but I didn’t test this. I just assume it works.

For everything you get in this price range, this amp is really a solid buy. If you plan to use it as an acoustic guitar amp, I think you’ll be very pleased. 5 stars!

Works way better than I expected 👍

Cool music icon could be a little trendier. A translation error perhaps but aside from that si gle superficial thing...this amp is great 30 amps of good solid sound ! Can be loud as well as transfer more subtle sounds it's bells and whistles make it a good choice for budget minded future Rock stars make and hear there own sound recordings it auxiliary

Jack for playing along with the Bluetooth ( volume and track forward and previous ) head phone jack for silent practicing ( separate sound vol & hi low range control) and 2and jack for additional instrament. This is marketed as a Drum amp.but it does so much more .and at a price point much lower than big name competition..great gift for a starter amp.im sure purists would snub this review there loss your gain!! 🎶Your Gain

Great little amp

I really like this amp. I had been looking for a amp/monitor to put on top of my bass amp. I'm learning how to play bass guitar and sometimes my playing gets lost in the volume of which we play. So I wanted something that I could keep at ear level to help me monitor my performance. Now with this amp only being 30 watts, I had my initial doubts that it would be able to keep up. But I was pleasantly surprised at just how much sound this amp puts out. And not just a loud sound, but a clear loud sound. Now of course I am realistic at not over powering such a small amp, but for right now, it's really doing the job. Now at some point, I won't have to use it, but our drummer has already called dibs on it to use for a vocal monitor. So needless to say this Coolmusic amp has found a good home with us. It is well made with a very clean look on the control/volume layout.

I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Thank you.

Very Nice Low Volume Amp and Speaker Cabinet

I Love this Coolmusic DM30 30W Bluetooth Personal Monitor Amplifier Electric Drum Amplifier Speaker.

But, I think the unit I received may have an amplification defect - Or - I just do not understand how to use it.

At peak volume this unit with Roland drums plugged in direct, it will only produce 95 decibels when monitored by using my iPhone decibel app.

Even with an electric guitar plugged in direct it will still only produce 95 decibels.

BUT - I Love this Amp with electric guitar.

I would not return or trade this amp because it will produce very kitschy sounds that I love like - old Zeppelin, Cars and other medium grit sounds.

While I think the unit I received my be under powered, I Love this amp and I am currently using it for new recordings.

Very Cool Amp !

Nice & clean -- great for keyboards and acoustic guitars too! 4 1/2 stars!

I know this is a “drum amp” but it’s actually a full-spectrum audio monitor that sounds great for keyboards too! It’s a full audio spectrum amp that covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz so that you can capture the full richness of high frequency overtones for the instruments that produce them. Drums, sure, but also keyboards and acoustic guitars. I’ve tested this DM30 monitor with both a keyboard and acoustic guitar, and it sounds beautiful with both, and I can plug in both at once since it has two inputs. It really, really outshines the built-in speakers of the keyboard.

This DM30 monitor is really good at capturing quick, loud, percussive notes – I assume because it was built with drums in mind. I find myself twiddling a lot with the 3-band EQ (which works very well) for each instrument to tame this effect, but it’s easy enough to do. Of course, I assume with electronic drums (or a drum machine), this percussive effect would be highly desirable, but I don’t play drums myself. The sound stays clean all the way up to maximum volume across all EQ settings, and I didn’t get any distortion during testing. It gets plenty loud enough for home use, or playing very small venues (e.g. coffeeshop). The volume will depend on other factors as well, like how hot the input signal is coming in, but I can easily rumble the floor (quite a bit!) with the strong bass through this little amp.

It has separate volume controls for both the Aux and Bluetooth inputs. I tested ALL the functions, and they work as expected, though I’m not sure how much I’ll personally use the Aux, Bluetooth, or headphones. The Bluetooth is easy to pair with (it shows up as “DM30” on my phone) and the instruction manual describes how to use the interface pretty clearly. The unit has a strong metal grill on the front, instead of a cloth cover, so if you accidentally kick it or drop something on it, you don’t need to worry about much damage. Of course, this is important since the speaker is angled upward.

There are a few minor drawbacks, but nothing too bad:

1) There is a very small amount of noise/hiss regardless of the volume setting . This is fairly normal for all audio amps unless they are big-money Hi-Fi units. For the price of this unit, the hiss is fairly low and perfectly reasonable. It’s fairly quiet, not distracting (especially while playing), but you can still notice it if you try. It’s not from the keyboard, because it’s there even when the keyboard is disconnected. Of course, the connected keyboard adds just a bit more hiss, which DOES scale up with volume (since you’re amplifying the keyboard hiss).

2) However, if you connect through Bluetooth, the hiss/noise gets noticeably worse with an added Bluetooth buzz. This is common on many Bluetooth systems, and I don’t love Bluetooth for audio for exactly this reason. While it’s nice they added Bluetooth if you need it, I will probably never use it. It’s much noisier, and I am subtracting ½ star for this (but not more, because I don’t think most people will use Bluetooth anyway, unless you’re just using it as a speaker).

3) The 3-band EQ works nicely, and one band doesn’t affect the others. However, the single EQ is shared across both channels. Not a huge drawback, but just be aware. This is probably necessary at this price point, as adding a 2nd EQ for the other channel would have undoubtedly driven up costs, size, etc. Still, if you want a keyboard on one channel, and an acoustic guitar on the other, you can’t EQ them separately right on the amp. If I were designing this, I would have eliminated the Bluetooth and added a 2nd EQ instead.

4) After turning it on, it takes about 4 or 5 seconds before the audio comes through. Not a big deal, but odd enough to be worth noting.

Final Rating: 4 ½ stars, rounded up to 5 stars. I’m very happy with this DM30 monitor, used as a keyboard amp. It's got most of the features you could want at this price, and it sounds great, except for the noisy Bluetooth (which lost it ½ star).
