Well i sat there all December looking at this box under the Christmas tree knowing there was a radio in it. A radio i have dreamed about for a long time! Christmas day opened, hooked up my antenna, turned on NO SOUND what the hell! Hooked up an external speaker and got sound. Puzzled. Took the bottom panel off and pooped my self! All the spot welds had come apart. Again what the hell! Sent it back today and will see what happens. Oh by the way spent 47 dollars to ship there broken radio back to them. Again what the hell! Will update review after new one gets here. April 2019 Update: I received the radio the beginning of February, so lets see if they fixed it. NOPE , receive was non existent, side band had 7 to 9 units on the s meter, and the frequency counter was way off. So contacted them again and explained the situation. Ill keep it short but it didn't go very well. I asked them a second time for a new radio, they said that was there call. NO ,i explained how bad reviews and sharing the experience with many others would be bad for business . Sent it back for the second time. Finally received a new radio, so my advice is try to avoid dealing with Galaxy repair. Radio works great by the way, nice radio!

love this radio the bad side of this I had to tune it when I pulled it out of the box ,It keys only 2 watts and only had 20% modulation . now it keys 6 watt and modulates to 10 way and the modulation is around 100 to 110 % works great

Would recommend for home/ RV station.

Legs/stand flimsy easy to break.other than that very well constructed unit, easy controls, very solid, gets out very well and sounds great, would recommend for base or RV a little big to mount in truck cab but posible.

CHECK POWER INPUT CHASSIS SCREW BEFORE PLUGGING THIS UNIT IN TO POWER

So I plug it in and ***FIREWORKS***. Did not even get to turn it on and the thing blows up. So lets take the cover off and see what we can find. Well I'll be dammed, a screw in the chassis clear through the sheet metal and contacting 120v pin on input power plug. See hole where screw used to be before it melted down and I removed it. Miraculously the radio powered up after I removed the screw.

Unit works fine in spite of the manufacturing defect small explosion upon plugging it in for the first time. Fun little CB rig to do a some dx with on a cold

winters night.

The DX 2547 and the Solorcon I-Max 2000 CB make one of the best pair ups I hear owned....Period

Been hooked since. The Combo of the Galaxy 2547 and the Solorcon I-Max 2000 is a real talker. I have talked from B C Canada to Down Under all in the same weekend. This combo is also a money saver.
