Fairly good controller; buttons feel cheap compared to others

*Surprisingly responsive stick movements

*Hall effect for sure, impacted by placing near a strong speaker

*Buttons feel inexpensive, but sticks feel solid. Has a slightly different spring feel than others

*1000MHz sampling rate seen both wired and wireless using testing tools

*Turbo function is unique, has inverse turbo

*Fully windows ready, no problems encountered

*Very little error in circularity using tester, even if it had there's a calibration

*USB cable is somewhat short, but reasonable. Guess expected to use wireless

*For $20 paid, well worth the price for a backup or aux/travel controller with laptop

*Profile is just about the same as others for xbox controllers, slightly blended with a few name brand ones

*No back buttons in comparison, tailored to generic gamers that don't need the extras.

*Would have been nice to have a carry slot/etc for the dongle. Feel this could get easily lost

Really Nice, Comfortable To Use, Very Little Lag Using 2.4ghz

I really like the Xbox-360 design of controller because it fits very well in my hand and the hands of most people I game with. This takes that and elevates it a little by adding the hall effect triggers and joystick, which gives really good control and helps avoid joystick drift, and really nice wireless capabilities. The fact that it can also work using a USB-C cable, and charges via USB-C makes it really useful even if it's run out of power. Overall, very pleased with this controller.

Good Controller Experience

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

-Gamepad

-Instructions

-2.4ghz Wireless Receiver

-USB-C to USB-A cable

PRODUCT/THOUGHTS:

This is a plug & Play controller. If you use this on Windows, you’ll see it as an Xbox 360 controller, as is the same with alot of controllers.

It uses a 2.4ghz dongle. There is no BT function so you must use the receiver or use the USB Cable for a wired connection.

You get all the things you expect like Turbo function, Vibration, and auto settings. I like the vibration. It defaults to 70% but you can turn it down or up to 100% if you want to provide more feedback during your games.

The overall construction and feel is pretty nice. You won’t be getting OEM xbox style quality, but it feels way above average and is a good alternative for those who still need something better than alot of the budget options on the market.

The back of the controller and the triggers have a slight grip texture. The joysticks and buttons have a soft rubber feel.

Performance Wise, everything was great. All responsive, no lag problems and I tried that with both Wired and Wireless modes. Just a good all-around controller for the price. Should work well for alot of people. Just be aware that this is not compatible with Android Out of the box since you need an OTG Adapter because it uses that receiver.

A great budget Switch controller with 1000 Hz wireless 2.4 GHz polling rate (Not 125 Hz)

The IFYOO N1 comes in a very ordinary looking box, and the controller inside has foam around the sides but that's about it. It looks strikingly similar to the GameSir Nova Lite (I have included pictures of both controllers side by side). The small booklet manual has 11 pages in English. It also comes with a fairly nice USB-A to USB-C cable, and a 2.4 GHz dongle. The IFYOO N1 weighs only 6.7 ounces compared to the Nintendo Pro Controller (8.8 ounces) and the XBox Series X/S (10.2 ounces). The grips have a subtle texture underneath. It has an XBox face button layout, and it comes with hall effect sticks and triggers. It also comes with turbo, 3 levels of vibration (40%, 70% (default), 100%) and off, and a function to let you know the relative battery level, 1%-25%, 26%-50%, 51%-75% and 76%-100%. It also comes with a function to swap the d-pad with the L-Stick. You can also calibrate the joysticks using only controller buttons.

IFYOO N1 Details:

Battery: 600mAh battery Gameplay time is not mentioned. 2-3 hour recharge time.

Vibration: 3 levels of intensity, 40%, 70% 100% (default) and off.

Sticks: No stick drift and immediately returned to center after moving them. Similar height sticks to the Nintendo Switch Pro or XBox Series X/S. The tops of the sticks are concave and have a very nice slightly rubbery feel to them and are some of the nicest quality stick tops on a budget controller I have ever reviewed. They are just a bit slippery in the center, but the edges are rough enough so thumb stick caps may not be necessary. I like them a lot. The sticks seem to be very responsive. In the online Gamepad Tester the circularity average error rate for both sticks was a perfect 0.0% for both sticks. Most sticks will have a circularity average error rate somewhere around 10% but budget sticks can be 20% or higher. There is debate about how much this number matters however as it only affects the diagonals and only is a problem if it's above 20%.

The controller looks and feels very much like the GameSir Nova Lite so I was interested to see how it performed next to the GameSir Nova Lite since it claims to have a wired 1000 Hz polling rate.

PC performance numbers

IFYOO N1

2.4 GHz dongle: 1029.85 Hz polling rate 0.97 ms avg latency jitter 0.15 ms

Wired: 1020.12 Hz polling rate 0.98 ms avg latency jitter 0.19 ms

GameSir Nova Lite

Bluetooth: 106.64 Hz polling rate 9.38 ms avg latency jitter 5.66 ms

2.4 GHz dongle: 131.89 Hz polling rate 7.58 ms avg latency jitter 1.53 ms

Wired: 605.51 Hz polling rate 1.65 ms avg latency jitter 0.32 ms

Quite simply, the IFYOO N1 has the best wireless 2.4 GHz numbers I've seen on a budget controller, and its wired numbers are also as good as any controller. The Flydigi Vader 3 can only do 500 Hz wireless over 2.4 GHz, and the GameSir Nova Lite which is touted as a great budget controller for its performance, shockingly gets its butt kicked by the IFYOO N1.

D-pad: The cross shaped d-pad has membrane contacts with no audible or tactile feedback. I found it to be very comfortable to use with not too much travel distance, and I could hit all diagonals easily.

Buttons: The face buttons in a XBox layout with membrane contacts also do not have too much travel distance and are fairly responsive especially for a budget controller. They have ABXY etched into them and are not easy to tell apart but most people should know already what these face buttons are. The shoulder buttons are textured on top, also have a short travel distance, and are responsive as well. The triggers are analog not digital for use in racing games, and are textured and responsive as well.

Function buttons: The function buttons all work fine, but have tiny symbols etched into them which don't tell you what each is. You will need to refer to the manual to learn, and then you will be fine.

UPDATE 8/12/24: There are two issues with the controller. One is that the Home light flashes on and off when connected wired to the PC or Switch. When connected to the PC, this problem can be solved by holding down the home button for 5 seconds to switch the controller from X-input mode to D-input mode, and then switching it back, at which point the Home button stays solid. When connecting to the Switch you can get the light to stay solid by pressing A on the Change Grip/Order screen. Another issue, is a feature it supposedly has to switch from circular joystick mode to square mode on the joysticks by holding down L3 + Turbo at which point the controller is supposed to briefly vibrate. It doesn't vibrate and appears to do nothing, but when holding down R3 + Turbo (a combination not mentioned in the manual) it vibrates, but again appears to do nothing. This feature works fine on the EasySMX X05 and the change can be seen visually in the online Gamepad Tester in the circularity test, but nothing changes with the IFYOO N1, so maybe they forgot to implement this feature, or maybe it needs a firmware update.

IFYOO N1 connections tested:

XBox layout: A button (bottom) selects, B (right) goes back

Switch layout: B button (right) selects, A (bottom) goes back

Press Home for 5 seconds to turn off the controller. Press Home to wake controller from sleep.

Switch: (Switch layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into Switch dock, on Change Grip/Order screen press Home and release)

Wired (Plug USB cable into dock, press Home and release)

PC: (XBox layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into PC, press Home and release)

Wired (Plug USB cable into USB port on computer, press Home and release)

Android 11 tablet: (XBox layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into device, press Home and release)

Wired (Plug USB cable into USB port on computer, press Home and release)

Fire TV (Fire OS7): (XBox layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into OTG cable on stick or cube, press Home and release)

Wired (Plug USB cable into OTG cable on stick or cube,, press Home and release)

Brook PS2 Converter (PS2 Connection): (XBox layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into converter, wait for blue light on converter to go solid, press Home and release)

Wired (Plug USB cable into converter, wait for blue light on converter to go solid, press Home and release)

Brook XB2 Converter (XBox 360 Connection): (XBox layout)

2.4 GHz (Plug 2.4 GHz dongle into converter, wait for blue light on converter to go solid, hold down Home button until lights flash super fast and wait 30 seconds)

Wired (Plug USB cable into converter, wait for blue light on converter to go solid, press Home and release)

Pros: Hall Effect Sticks and triggers, 1000 Hz polling rate both wired and over 2.4 GHz dongle, with very low latency and low jitter, switch d-pad and L-Stick feature, hold Turbo + Start to get approximate battery level, connects to almost anything including the Brook converters for XBox and PlayStation, and the PS3 though this was not tested.

Cons: Likely has a short battery life over 2.4 GHz with its 1000 Hz polling rate and smallish 600 mAh battery, Home light flashes continuously when connected wired to Switch, no Bluetooth, no gyro motion controls, does not wake the Switch, circular to square joystick movement feature does not work

It's now $35.99 with a 20% coupon ($28.80).

Even though it comes without Bluetooth or gyro motion controls on the Switch, the IFYOO N1's performance on the PC wireless over the 2.4 GHz dongle blew me away at the price, and the only other controller I've seen with 1000 Hz wireless over 2.4 GHz in this price range, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C, has Bluetooth but it can't connect to the Switch. And as I mentioned earlier, the Flydigi Vader 3 only does 500 Hz over 2.4 GHz wireless. The IFYOO N1 performs great wired as well. With the only real drawback being that it may have a short battery life, I highly recommend this controller. 5 stars.

Realizing how great it is to have a 2.4ghz wireless receiver!

I am so impressed by the quality of this controller. The buttons and D-pad have a great click and feel, perfect like an OEM big console manufacturer. It has hall effect analog sticks and triggers that all work well and feel absolutely great.

I'm loving that this uses a 2.4ghz wireless adapter instead of Bluetooth. Pairing and connecting is so much simpler since the devices it connects to only need to be able to support a USB connection. I also think this has much better latency than BT, connects immediately and doesn't have the issue of random disconnects that other inexpensive controllers seem to have. The USB dongle could be a downside if you have trouble keeping track of small extra pieces since the controller itself doesn't have a place to store it when not in use.

The materials of the controller also feel like great quality. It has a matte, textured finish and has a good weight to it. It has a vibration function I haven't tested yet and also doesn't have a gyro so no motion controls here. I haven't fully tested the battery life yet, but I haven't noticed any issues there.

Overall, I'd say this is a great quality, high compatibility, versatile controller worthy of adding to your setup!
