If you're looking for a compact, portable bass amp for practice sessions or low-volume jams, the JOYO MA-10B might be just what you need. You might want to check out:
- The JOYO Small Bass Amp With Bass Guitar Strap 10W Bass Practice Amp Portable Battery Powered Bass Amplifier MA-10B Dual Channel (SMA10B). It features dual channels (Normal/Drive), tone and gain controls, and flexible power options—either a 9V adapter or 6 AA batteries. Users appreciate its portability and ease of use, especially for acoustic jams or silent practice with headphones. It delivers decent tone for its size, though it can distort easily at higher volumes and may not compete with louder instruments. It’s best suited for quiet practice or casual play, not full band rehearsals.
Haven't been able to try my u-bass with it but I try it with my tenor ukulele and it sound pretty loud and I only had it at half of the volume. I was impressed with it, well for the size 😅

Finally a good mini bass amp
Having been happy with all of my other Joyo items I expected a lot from this mini amp, yet I was still surprised at the sound quality. Of course It won't fill a stadium, but it fills my room with a pretty lush sound in regular mode. Boomy without sounding muddy.
This is entirely subjective, but to me the styling has a cool 70s sci-fi space ship prop vibe, which I dig, though the dirty beige they chose for the bass version of the MA-10 is that of a 90s desktop computer that lived its whole life in the home of a family of heavy smokers. It's just exactly the wrong shade of whatever color it's trying to be. The acoustic MA-110 is a cool orange, and the guitar one is a cool black, so why did we bass players get this color?
Objectively there isn't much to complain about. There is the expected distortion at very high volume, but otherwise the sound reproduction is really good even without the qualifier that it's a plastic box with a 5" speaker and no internal sound damping. Part of this might be that the speaker is under-driven - rated for 15 watts, but the amp only puts out 10 watts. Maybe I'm full of it.
I will say that the overdrive doesn't sound very good to me, but the dry sound more than makes up for it, and if you wanted a better overdrive or distortion Joyo has a pedal for that.
I tested the amp with a 2025 Hils HNB5 bass with active/passive soapbar pickups and a 1983 Westone Raider I with passive humbuckers. It was happier with passive. With active pickups it has a lower max volume due to distortion, but it handled the extra power just fine.
If I were to make any practical suggestion to Joyo it would be to add some sort of grip or handle. If you install the included guitar strap it could serve as the handle, but for those of is who won't use the strap it's a two-hander despite being light enough for one hand.
The last nit I will pick is that the light that makes the logo glow was also making the plastic shell around the logo glow, so I painted the area around the light module black so now only the logo glows.

Give this a chance-you'll be happy you did.
I play both guitar and bass (poorly, I'll admit) and sometimes I don't feel like going in my man-cave to get set up. I admit I was extremely skeptical of how good it would be. Even while I unpacked, i felt uneasy about the light weight of the item and the plastic body. That is where my worries ended. I plugged in the amp, plugged my guitar into the amp, turned it on and played. The sound is quite good for an amp this small and light. The amp has tone, volume, and drive controls that all work well. The dials are smooth and feel sturdy. I honestly can't believe how good this is for the money. It is very portable. I was even able to put a strap on it with two "screws" that are included on the top sides of the amp. I'm not sure that is what they are for, but it works well.
This is a perfect, ultra-portable solution for practicing or a spontaneous jam with friends. So far I am loving this amp!
