Make sure you have a proper junction box. Light is harsh.

I'm going to start off by saying that I was highly disappointed with this product for the price that it was. Installation of the fan took a lot longer than other fans that I've installed, because the control box that the home wiring plugs into is very large. There is essentially no room for additional wiring to go past the control box. Because the room that I installed the fan in did not have a proper junction box, I just had a hole cut in the ceiling. One of the wire nuts that I used was sticking out, but that single wire and wire nut prevented the whole control box from sitting in there properly. Until I have time to take it back down, cut a larger hole, and shove the rest of the wires in there, the fan is currently sitting with its top shroud open and the control box just hanging out in the shroud. Not only that, but this keeps the trend of not using separate wires for the light and the fan, since they want you to use the remote instead.

I also find the lights to be very harsh. It is nice to have some color temperature options and be able to adjust the brightness, but because most of the light is facing a single face, that light is extremely harsh. You don't get a lot of diffused lighting coming off of the back of the ceiling as it's basically all directed downward. It's a shame because while the design of the fan is nice and modern, the harsh light just really ruins how the room looks.

Regarding the remote that the fan comes with, it's nice enough and has all the different features like fan speed, brightness, reverse direction, and so on.

I own a lot of products by Philips. I've always liked them as a brand, but if this is an indicator of how they design their fans, I don't think I will ever buy one of theirs ever again.

Great Fan With Lots of Speed and Light Options

I’ve been using this ceiling fan for about a month and have been extremely happy with it. Installation was straightforward, and once it was up, it was easy to operate. It's modern looking and blends in well with my decor and is pretty versatile, style-wise.

There are plenty of speed options, so I can adjust the airflow depending on what I need. The fan is powerful enough that it really helps the room feel much cooler than it is. The light is also very bright, which I really appreciate, and having different color temperature options makes it easy to get the kind of lighting I want. The dimming is a nice bonus as well.

The remote has worked reliably and makes it very convenient to control both the fan and light without having to get up. I also like having multiple airflow settings rather than being limited to just a few speeds.

After a month of regular use, everything has been working as expected and the fan has been a great combination of good airflow and useful lighting. For the features, ease of installation, and overall quality, I think it's a very good value.

Quiet, Beautiful, Amazing!

Absolutely love this fan. It looks fantastic in our 100 year old home and not out of place at all. Cools the room extremely well and provide enough light to fill the whole room!

I thought it was funny that I wasn’t even able to hear the fan while running and have never had something with this level of quality. We installed another fan we got from Costco in another room and can hear that fan.

Would recommend this fan to anyone!

Perfect Solution If You Don't Have a Wall Switch!

I love everything Philips. I have their sunrise clock, tv lights, and every single bulb in our home is Philips. It's just a great brand. This fan is so convenient and helpful. My son's room had a fan which wasn't connected to his wall switch. The wall switch only controlled the switched outlets to power a lamp. Whichever rookie installed the old ceiling fan decades after the home was built tied it into the master bedroom. The electrician then cheaply junctioned it off, but didn't tie it to the wall. *eyeroll*. This is the perfect solution since the light and fan are powered by the remote! Problem solved. No more builder-grade fan that rattled and didn't put out much light, even with the nice Philips bulb in it.

We move the sleep mode and all the other modes, the temperature settings and the dimming. The timer is such a great feature too because he forgets to turn things off! Sort of want one for our bedroom now. Very quiet too. We love it! It looks modern without being over the top. It fits many aesthetics. The price is right. Another win from Philips!

Modern, Quiet, and Absolutely Perfect for My Bedroom!

I couldn't be happier with this Philips indoor ceiling fan! I ordered it for my bedroom because I wanted something sleek and modern, and it exceeded all of my expectations. Since I don't have high ceilings, I was looking for a fan that would fit well without overwhelming the space, and this one is absolutely perfect.

Installation was straightforward and hassle-free, which was a huge bonus. Once installed, I was immediately impressed by how quiet it is, even at higher speeds, it runs smoothly without any distracting noise. The reversible blades add a beautiful touch and make it easy to match different room styles. The remote works well and it is very convenient.

The lighting is another standout feature. The bright LED light provides excellent illumination when needed, and the dimmable function is fantastic for creating a relaxing atmosphere in the evenings. I love being able to adjust the brightness depending on my mood, and the selectable white light options make the room feel just right at any time of day.

Performance-wise, this fan delivers. With 6 speeds and 2 airflow modes, it's easy to customize the airflow for comfort, whether I want a gentle breeze or stronger circulation. The airflow is impressive, and it keeps the room comfortable without being overpowering.

Overall, this fan offers incredible value for the money. Between the stylish design, quiet operation, versatile lighting, and customizable airflow settings, it truly has everything I was looking for. If you're searching for a modern, high-quality ceiling fan for a bedroom or similar space, I highly recommend this one!

Modern, Quiet, and a great upgrade from an older fan

I installed this Philips ceiling fan in my master bedroom, replacing a 13-year-old five-blade fan that had become outdated and had started making a noticeable humming noise. The difference was immediately noticeable. This fan has a much more modern look, operates very quietly, and provides excellent airflow throughout the room. Initially, I was a little concerned that it only had three blades compared to the five blades on my old fan. However, the longer blade design and efficient DC motor more than make up for it. Airflow is impressive, and the room feels just as comfortable, if not more so than with the previous fan. Even at medium speeds, it circulates air very effectively, while the higher speeds provide plenty of cooling power.

The integrated LED light is another standout feature. It is bright, evenly distributed, and highly customizable. The ability to switch between warm white, neutral white, and daylight white, along with smooth dimming, makes it easy to create the right atmosphere for any time of day. Whether I need bright lighting for reading or softer lighting in the evening, this fan delivers.

Installation was straightforward and easier than expected. The fan feels solid and well-built once installed, and the included remote control is very convenient. Having six fan speeds, dimming controls, light color selection, and airflow direction all accessible from the remote makes day-to-day use simple. The only thing I miss from my previous fan setup is the ability to control the fan and light separately from dedicated wall switches when entering the room. My old fan was wired so the fan and light could each be operated independently from the wall switch. With this Philips model, most functionality is handled through the remote control. While the remote works well, it does require a change in habit if you're used to traditional dual-switch operation.

Pros:

Modern, attractive design

Strong airflow despite having only three blades

Extremely quiet operation

Bright LED light with three color temperature options

Smooth dimming capability

Convenient remote control with six fan speeds

Easy installation

Good value for the features offered

Cons:

Fan and light functions are primarily controlled through the remote

Does not provide the same separate wall-switch control experience as some traditional fans

Overall, this has been an excellent upgrade from my aging ceiling fan. It looks modern, runs quietly, moves plenty of air, and offers excellent lighting flexibility. If you're looking to replace an older fan and don't mind relying on the remote for most controls, this fan is a solid choice that combines style, performance, and convenience.

ETL listed, quality performance

A quality product from a reputable company. This is a stylish ceiling fan, the 3 blades can still effectively move air on par with the more common 5 blade units.

So I'm not going to post photos of the fan itself, if you want to know what it looks like, they have enough photos on the product page, but there is one detail that usually doesn't show up on the product page and that is the tag on the top of the motor. So here's the deal, I've been offered products to review on vine, there's the good, the bad, and the ugly. Code requires that all electrical items be UL or ETL listed. Some items are, some are not, and some will even say they are on the product page, but the actual product is not. And that's ugly! This one... says ETL listed on the product page and on the product itself! And that's good! That certification essentially means that the product will perform to its rating.

The light on this is LED, no replaceable screw in style. That concerns me a little since despite the thousands of rated hours on many of the LED bulbs, the actual performance has been a little less stellar. I suppose the LED disk can be replaced if it fails, I've seen replacement LED disk for sale. Since this is from a reputable brand, the chances are higher that replacements will be available in the future for this product.

The entire fan is controlled via its remote controller. So there is only the hot, neutral, and ground wire to connect to the controller. The fan and light have an easy to use plug in connectors to the remote controller. The controller remembers its last setting when the power is turned off, so if the lights were off, they will still be off when you switch the power back on. This controller also gives you the option to change color temperature of the light from a soft white to a bright white to a daylight white. Also has a dimming option, and personally here the dimming performance is a little anemic at only dimming to a 20% level. Most will dim to at least 10% and the better ones will go down to 1%. If you want a very soft light or night light version, plan on a separate light fixture providing that. Also has 6 speeds, plus a timer option to turn the fan off automatically.

My take... that ETL listing says it all! Highly recommended (if you like the style😊)

Great Quality, Super Quiet, Lots of Power, Streamlined Look - And No Beep

When we moved into our new house last year, I replaced the 35-year-old ceiling fans in the bedrooms with more modern models. And verily, it was good! Except for the cheapo no-name fan I stuck in the bedroom I use for my office. For some reason, the manufacturer thought it would be a great idea to make the fan beep every time you pushed a button on the remote or flipped the power switch, with no way to disable the feature. It wasn't a deal-killer for an office, but it would have been *deeply* annoying if we'd been using the space as a bedroom. Since that might happen someday, I've been keeping my eye out for a better replacement.

I came across this Philips model and decided now was the time. So far, I'm really pleased. It's got a slightly more streamlined look than the fan it replaced, which I like. I was kinda hoping for a more flush-mounted model, but the 5-inch downrod is pretty ideal. As promised in the product description, it's quiet and moves a LOT of air - at least as much as the five-blade fan it replaced. The first setting is plenty while I'm working on warm summer days. Anything above setting number three starts to blow too many papers around my desk. The remote is a bit larger than I'd like, but the big buttons are easy to find and press. I like the ability to choose my color of white light - I prefer warm white in most cases, but the cooler tones are nice for certain tasks, and it's handy to have the choice at the touch of a button.

Speaking of the light, it seems a little less intense than I expected. It's advertised at 2650 lumens, and while I can't objectively verify, it seems dimmer than that. Still bright enough at max power for what I need, and it's nice that I can dim it with the remote for evening work. Also worth noting: if you plan on using the fan with a wall switch, the fan remembers the last power-on state, so you don't have to constantly reset your light and fan settings.

Installation is... a chore. I was hoping it would be a bit easier than the last fan, but yikes do things get tight where it meets the ceiling. The control box takes some effort to slide into place. I had to loosen several screws and adjust the wiring ten different ways to get everything to fit, then re-tighten, hoping that I was getting everything tight enough to prevent wobbling but not so tight that I was kinking the wiring sleeve coming up from the fan motor and LED panel. So far, so good, but it was the least-fun part of the whole process. Probably less bad if you're going to use the longer 10-inch downrod, but still unpleasant.

But one thing I noticed during installation is that overall quality seems quite good. There are small things that made it apparent this name-brand product was built better than the generic fan it was replacing: a thicker steel mounting bracket, the safety cable, thicker wiring, and more complete grounding, to name a few.

But of course, you pay a premium. This fan is maybe 50% more expensive than the generic fan I ordered last year. It's probably worth the extra cost, but it sure wouldn't hurt to get this on sale if you can swing it.

Impressed with the look- excited to try out function

I’m so excited to get this fan installed! Even before putting it up, I’m impressed with the features and overall design. The reversible blades and clean modern look will fit perfectly with my space, and I love that it comes with multiple mounting options.

The airflow specs are amazing — 4800 CFM with 6 speeds should make a huge difference, especially during summer. I also really appreciate that it has a quiet DC motor because I’m sensitive to noisy fans. The integrated LED light is another huge plus. Being able to switch between warm, neutral, and cool lighting and dim it down is such a nice feature that makes it feel much more customizable.

The remote control, reversible airflow for winter/summer use, and EyeComfort lighting technology make this feel much more high-end than a standard ceiling fan. Counting down the days until my electrician installs it because I already know it’s going to completely transform the room!

basic but functional ceiling fan and light

I've installed probably a dozen ceiling fans. This isn't the hardest but it's definitely not the easiest. The instruction manual is easy enough to follow along, but I would've appreciated larger font. I only made one mistake, which was installing the blades upside down. Of course, I didn't realize that until I was putting in the last screw on the last blade. So what should've been about an hour to complete took an extra 15 minutes of work/re-work.

All the parts came well wrapped in paper and each part had its own slot in very protective molded cardboard inserts. There were extra washers and screw for the blades and they provide the wire nuts. The only tool you'll need is a Philips screwdriver. When installing the blades, loosely put in the screws and only tighten them after all 3 screws are in; aligning the blade and mounting holes can be difficult if any one screw is already tightened. Other ceiling fans will have alignment tabs or the like so the holes are perfectly aligned.

Once installed, operation is very intuitive as the remote is very well labeled with large buttons. I find the motor is very quiet (other than a ping sound when turning on) but the blades can make a discernible whooshing sound at the top 3 settings. Even on the lowest setting, it pushes a lot of air. The highest setting is a powerful stream. Reversing the direction is easy but it can be slow if the fan is already on as it doesn't brake the blades; it has to wait until it slows to a stop on its own. The light is bright and evenly distributed (no localized points of light) and switching the color temperature is fast and easy as each has their own dedicated button. Dimming is a bit slow but it works and doesn't flicker at any setting. I do wish there was a way to indicate/show what level the dimming is at. Or a fast feature like double clicking to min/max the brightness.

As for the aesthetics, it's definitely industrial/minimalist and the wood veneer has distinct lines/seams between sheets. I also saw that the outer blade/cylinder body is not perfectly round. I can clearly see the gap between the cylinder and light grow/shrink as it turns. I dock a star for the simplistic stylic and manufacturing imperfection. However, the blades are still balanced and does not rock around even at the highest speed. I do use the shortest down rod, so that should minimize any unbalance.

I have this connected to a wall switch and I find that the fan and light will turn on at the settings when it was turned off. I'll always turn it off with the light on so I can enter the dark room with the wall switch. I prefer to keep the remote further inside the room where I sit.

The remote uses 2 AAA batteries which are not included.

A proper ceiling fan

This is a nice, well made fan. The 52 inch wingspan puts out some serious airflow. It runs quietly, even on high, and has a super bright led light. It comes with a remote that controls all functions (wind speed, light temperature, dimming, etc)

It assembles quickly and has a cool looking design. Each blade inserts into the motor, and is held in place with locking screws. The woodgrain color of the blades also plays well off of the back motor and comes togeher nicely. You can also use the black side of the blades to match the rest of the fan. It comes with a quality downrod for perfect spacing. It is not too heavy either (when it is all put together) making for a quick and painless installation. Comes with a hanging tool that helps to suspend the fan while you connect the 2 hot wires & ground. (simple install, not a 2 man job like some others I have reviewed)

It also has a low pricetag for a 52in. Perfect for any living room, with a timeless design that'll blend with almost any decor. I really like it. I can find no faults or have any immediate gripes. I think it is a good deal and would totally recommend. Quality stuff folks & an easy 5 star score. (In my honest opinion)

Dr. Cassette Bruce

A quality ceiling fans from the reputable company, Great quality and functionalities.

It is well packed; each component is wrapped in packing paper to protect the others during shipping. The design is modern and includes essential and installation parts. It is very neat and gives a premium feel.

The assembly instructions are not detailed, so I had to use common sense. The total installation time was about 1 hour. A couple of things I learned from the installation process: 1. Assemble the rod side first and route all wires. Insert both the bottom and upper covers. Otherwise, you need to disassemble it again to insert them. 2. Unscrewing the top cover locking screws is enough to attach the top cover. 3. Check the notch on the ball joint and make sure it is in the slot so the ball joint is fully recessed into the frame. 4. The gap to insert the control box is very tight, so arrange the wires from the fan and the AC power line.

Each component is high quality and durable. Once installed, the fan and light operate perfectly. There is much less noise at the highest fan setting, and the light is bright. According to the specs, the fan is up to 4800 CFM and the light is 2650 LM. I do not need to use the weight balance because I do not see any vibrations at the highest fan settings.

The remote control is not fancy, but it is easy to operate. The sleep mode is interesting because it controls the wind as if it were natural, with waves of soft and strong winds.

The design is modern-looking and simple.
