Just too big for an 8ft ceiling
We wanted to love this fan based on its style alone, but it's just too big for an 8ft ceiling. Literature says it's 13.125" tall, but it's more like 15.5". And while not expected, there is truly no flush-mount option, and mounting with a shorter down-rod might be possible but would be challenging. We also had 2 problems with the fan that we did not try to resolve - 1) once powered the fan ran on high and the remote did nothing, and 2) the light mount was a bit bent so it was not horizontal. Construction and mounting seemed very similar to the other ~ 5 fans I've installed in the last ~ 2 yrs.
