Great upgrade camera. I had an old Ring doorbell and we definitely needed to upgrade to this 4k Pro. Resolution is amazing and camera detail picks up from the street to my door. Love it

Much better than Google Doorbell Camera

Much better than the Google Home doorbell camera we previously had. A/C repair folks accidentally broke the old doorbell wire somewhere in the attic. Rather than fishing around among layers of insulation in the attic, we chose to install a battery powered Ring Doorbell 4k Pro with a solar panel backing. Fantastic! The 4k photo quality and response time to identify motion or the doorbell is much, much better than Google. In addition, the battery level has not dropped even 1% after installing the solar accessory a few weeks ago. FWIW, it's in a shaded entryway that gets only a couple hours of sun each day. The solar accessory adds about an inch of thickness, height and width to the doorbell but should alleviate having to buy extra batteries or recharge the installed battery every couple of months. (See attached photo.) The features with Ring far outweigh Google. For instance, I got a neighborhood alert a few nights ago when a resident several blocks away heard a very loud car crash. You'll also get emergency alerts (fire, storm, burgularies, etc.) with Ring - something Google won't do. Video and snapshots are saved without a cloud subscription for much longer than Google. No subscription is needed, but more features are available with a subscription. Ring works wirelessly with Alexa or a separate, cheap chime speaker. (It will not work with Google Home Nest.) Google doesn't offer a neat solar panel accessory like Ring. While this is overall larger than the Google doorbell camera, it was a great upgrade!

Best Upgrade

Huge improvement over my old 2020 Ring Doorbell 3 Plus. It feels really solid and well-built, and I like that it works with my existing mechanical doorbell chime when wired. The head-to-toe view is a big upgrade since I can now see my entire front porch. Picture quality is also really good, even in low light. So far, I’m very happy with the upgrade.

Worse doorbell and gets even worse

Update: 9/15/26: Replaced battery on 9/13/26 with 100% charged battery. Today 9/15 and battery charge left only…37% (2 days only!).

My previous Ring battery doorbell pro works a lot better. This new 2026 4k doorbell you never get alerts even every setting perfectly done, take long time to open live view with high speed internet. Very unreliable product. Waste of money and time. Get another brand

Easy To Use Everyday With High Quality Function

Simply an easy video doorbell to setup, physically install, and use daily. With its ‘pro’ features, it makes keeping up with what’s happening at your door work without you having to figure everything out. The smart notifications about people and events provide excellent information and are quite accurate (even accurately telling me it saw my daughter and two Goldendoodles or that it saw me carrying a blue bucket.) The video quality with 4K is superb, giving the user the ability to actually see text on shirts and/or packages as well as to identify faces. The 10x enhanced zoom provides an even greater level of clarity. The doorbell’s Audio+ gives super clear voice on both ends of the conversation. The radar makes motion detection extremely accurate as well as providing the direction of a person’s arrival and departure before and after they’re near your door.

Battery life is the only thing about this smart doorbell that is not great. It is probably a good idea to invest in either a spare battery (since the battery is removable) or to look into one of the Ring approved ways to keep the battery charged, such as the solar mount.

The wifi 6 connectivity provides the doorbell with a faster operation that, at least in theory, should get you as the user quicker notifications and snapshots of what the Ring doorbell is catching on video.

In terms of price point, you are getting what you pay for with this high quality video doorbell.

Design flaws

I was disappointed with this Ring camera. It uses a different battery than my other Ring devices, so I can't swap batteries between them, which is inconvenient. The camera quality is about the same as the older generations and doesn't feel like much of an upgrade. I also purchased the Ring solar panel, but the top of the camera overlaps it and partially blocks the panel, making it less effective. Overall, I expected better compatibility and a more noticeable improvement for the price.

Excellent Upgrade for Anyone Who Needs a Battery-Powered Doorbell

I’ve used several Ring products over the years, and the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro was just as easy to install as I expected. Since I’m in a condo and can’t easily run doorbell wiring, I was excited to see a Pro version that runs on a removable battery. Setup was straightforward—charge the battery, install the mounting bracket, attach the doorbell, and complete the setup in the Ring app.

The video quality is excellent. The image is sharp and detailed, and the wide-angle view provides a great look at visitors and packages near the door. The enhanced zoom feature is also a nice addition when you need a closer look at something in the recording. Night vision performance has been very good as well.

One of my favorite features is the quick-release battery pack, which makes recharging much easier than having to remove the entire doorbell from the wall. I’m still experimenting with the motion detection and recording settings to find the right balance between performance and battery life, but so far I’m very pleased with the results.

This is a great option for anyone who wants premium Ring features but doesn’t have access to existing doorbell wiring. Easy installation, excellent video quality, and a removable battery make this a solid upgrade for battery-powered doorbell users.

Requires patience to set up

This is a complicated device that requires some skills to set up. I just want a doorbell and a camera.

Excellent clarity

Although the camera is a little cost prohibitive, I will still give it 5 stars. I use it as a battery, not wired. Installation and setup was extremely simple. Could be understood and done by any child with common sense. But the main thing is the clarity. The 4K image is amazing, even at night in limited light. It pics up surrounding light and creates a crystal clear picture. Would definitely recommend. With the purchasing options, it's even easier to get. I was able to purchase using Affirm for 5 equal payments at 0% interest.

Not an upgrade from the last generation

The new generation bell has a wider field of view but everything is much smaller and seems further away. Also stills taken at night despite the advertising are worse than the old generation. They are very fuzzy. If you already have a ring that works don’t upgrade. In the photos below the first one is the new camera and the second is the old.

Crystal clear night vision

Easy to connect to. Detects everything down to cats. Almost 180 degree field of view. Very reliable face detection. Compatible with all our phones and our echo show. The night vision is great, so fun to see the animals that walk by at night in full color. You have to program names to the faces but then it'll tell you who's approaching by name. It will also tell you what anyone appears to be doing. The Ai detection is great. Night and day difference in picture quality over our old ring camera.

Ring garbage quality for long term

Poor quality for long term use, this is only after 2-3 years later under awning and good condition.

Great upgrade from my old one but wish they sent secure bracket

As many have stated, I came from one of the older models, so this is a huge upgrade! There are what IMHO some fatal flaws in the design. I read through and mounted it (with the angle option bracket) but then I realized anyone with that key thing can come disable it by taking the battery out.. thus leaving you with no camera or they could even take it further & take the battery then take that one screw out and take the whole thing🤯😪.. I was shocked when I realized this was all they had to secure their new battery doorbell cameras.. which are (from what I've seen and read on the neighborhood posts) the most common cameras to be messed with.(doorbell cameras) I did find a solution though.. Although like my first ring camera it required buying a secure bracket that slides onto the side of the door and has a screw in plate to protect the battery key port. Annoying, and frustrating that I had to go back and reinstall the thing a whole different way but I just didn't feel safe with how easy it is for anyone to open that plate and take the battery out. For the price, at least for the battery model, they should have included a secure door fitting bracket.. other than that the camera is amazing! High quality video and I love how when it alerts you, it literally writes out what's happening..

Again, for those of you that have some of the newer models previous to this, you may not be as impressed but for me, this is a huge upgrade! Love all the setting options as well.. like I said, I only wish that for the price they would have either included a secure door bracket or engineered it a little differently..because sadly it won't take the bad guys long to figure out, all the have to do is get one of those little keys and pop the battery out. I highly recommend you get a secure bracket.. I'll attach pictures of what I'm talking about and circle the steel protector on the secure bracket.. but alas like I said this is something you have to buy extra and I don't even think ring sells a secure "ring" brand bracket for this new model yet..

Best SMART Video Doorbell on the market!

I purchased the latest Ring Battery Doorbell and had issues setting it up. I called Ring to get assistance and they were helpful but, they unable to get it to stay connected to my Ring Chime Pro. I returned it for credit and purchased the 4K Ring Battery Pro and it’s a great addition to my home security. Simple installation and WiFi setup and I purchased a second battery to make for easy change out and reduced downtime.

Good picture and audio, but some frustrating things

Pros: video and audio quality are excellent.

That’s all I really got for pros.

Cons: After having the camera for 12 days, I’m sitting here waiting for the battery to charge with a non-functioning camera while I wait. Today I realized the battery was at 30%, with it hardwired to a good quality 24v, 30va transformer. Annoying, but not a big deal right? Pop out the battery and just run it hardwired in the meantime, I guess the trickle charge can’t keep up with the level of activity the camera sees. I have not been opening the live feed a lot because I can’t stand how it records every time you do that.

Well fun fact, the battery must be installed for the camera to work. It won’t work only hardwired, even after installing a new, 24v, 40va transformer. Guess it’s like a car, can’t run without the battery, and the transformer/wires act like an alternator.

So I ordered a wired version instead because the wired battery version seems pointless for me. It’s as if it’s running on just the battery and not charging, even though it says hardwired in the status and I see the charging lightning bolt. I checked, there was 28v with the original transformer hooked up.

Another frustrating point is the fact that every time you open the live feed, it automatically saves and records it. I don’t want that cluttering up my feed, and ring shouldn’t want that cluttering up their servers. Yes I can delete the recording, but that’s annoying to always do. (Edit: I think ring wisely got rid of this)

You can also only select one single filter in the recorded events page, which is bizarre. You can’t check all the event types you want to show up, and leave the live recordings unchecked to not see them.

Edit: I don’t really know why they sell this wired battery version, it really just acts like a battery version. Overnight it only recharges 1% with no live viewing or motion events, with a 24v 40va transformer. I know trickle charge implies it’s only charging the battery a small amount, but it’s lower than I expected. It wouldn’t be so bad if you could use the camera while the battery recharges, but you can’t. I replaced it with the wired version and am much happier now.

Flimsy and unsecured battery cover. Easy to remove and disable device

The battery cover is only held by a flimsy plastic tab. It can be removed with a light pull without the need to use a tool. very easy to tamper with and disable device. Older version battery cover was held by a security screw.

4K Video Super Clear

Love the slim look of this doorbell as well as the ease of swapping out the battery. Video is crisp in 4K and wide angle lens is fantastic, if you’re thinking of upgrading don’t hesitate.

Ring 4k doorbell

The ring 4k battery doorbell pro is worth the upgrade . But it comes with pro’s & cons .

Pro’s : great video detail & color , the audio is very crisp . Better overall design and much slimmer then the previous model .

Battery life is improved & easy to set up the camera . The big plus with this model is , it’s compatible with my ring chime pro and it works perfectly fine . brought newest ring chime it’s not needed if you already have chime pro but the new ring chime is much louder so go with the that .

Cons : the price 249$ that’s too much in my opinion. yes 4k is better then 1080p but not for 100$+ increase .

The instructions to mount the camera are terrible had to go YouTube just to finish 😂.

Sometimes the camera color/ ir will shutter as shown in the video dont know if that’s a software bug or a defective unit .

Overall : it’s a great camera just overpriced.

Works Great and Compatible with Old Ring Batteries

Received this battery 4K from Ring today and installed it right away. Historically I've only had the battery Video Doorbell 2 for many years so that's my benchmark here. This is quite an upgrade and I'm happy. Connection is good and camera seems to work great. Picture clarity and field of vision is dramatically better. Zoom is cool, but you do lose a little clarity as you zoom in but still good. Be aware the Ring battery in this one is slightly longer but is the exact width and design of the old standard ones. It is backward compatible with the old batteries and my old one is powering the new doorbell right now! An old battery snaps right in, the new battery is just slightly longer (see picture). New battery capacity is 9400mAh and 3.60V; the old traditional is one is 6040mAh and 3.65V, at least according to the battery labels. I don't use a solar charger so I cannot comment if there are any differences on it. I'll will be interested to see what it looks like is at night and low light as that I have not had an opportunity to try.

The 2 screws on this mount are in different spots than the 4 screws I had on my Video Doorbell 2 camera. I had to drill a couple holes as the old ones don't line up.
