Good little console! Really works...
>Greg, Just read your review on the StudioMaster Digilive mixer. I was completely surprised! I bought one of these about 3 or so years ago, and have NEVER had mine to shut down during a show, or otherwise... I use mine as a go to console for small gigs, which right now is only about 5 or 6 times a year, but I have no issues with mine...at all. Not sure what could be causing your shut downs, besides maybe a faulty power adapter, (you said you checked that), but I wouldn't count this unit out...It sounds great for small bands, and I also use it for talking heads/panel discussions, and just modest jobs in general...The only thing I might find an issue with, is the effects/send routing is a little quirky to me coming from an analog background of 40 years+, but I just setup a send for a good verb, one for delay, 2 or 3 monitor busses, and for most gigs this is sufficient. There, also isn't a stage box for the D-L, but I put some money into (2)-125' multi-run CAT-5 lines, bought a bunch of Cat-5 In/out boxes. That cost me over $1,000.00, but the sound is pretty transparent! This unit isn't designed for extensive setups/routing, multitracking, pristine preamps, and all that of a Yamaha, Presonus, Midas, A&H, etc., but like I said, if you're just getting into digital, and don't want to spend over $1,000, or so, this unit serves it's purpose. I also own a Midas M32R which I love, but I bought the Digilive after the Midas (I caught the Midas at a good price), but I needed a smaller footprint console for small gigs, and this is perfect! Btw, SM now makes an updated version of this unit, which looks decent...not sure if it does multi-tracking, which I would like, but it's just over $1,000.00 right now. I may just get one!
