Very nice camera for Zoom, FaceTime use
I’ve had my fair share of cameras over the years. My first one was quite expensive and only captured around 320x240 pixels. Back then, it was exciting to have some form of video calling, even over slow modem links. Fast forward to today, and with high-speed connections, we can enjoy fantastic video calls with family and friends using cameras like this one. My old camera, which was only a few years old, certainly needed an upgrade, especially now that there are newer AI-based cameras. This AI-powered 2K webcam is an excellent choice for an upgrade.
After trying it out for a few days, I really enjoy some of its standout features. First, it’s surprisingly compact. This little camera from Ugreen is about one-third the size of the one I was using before, making it super portable. It’s not much bigger than 2.5” x 1.5” x 1”. Connecting it is a breeze—my Mac Studio had no issues connecting to it, and it worked flawlessly with FaceTime and Zoom calls. It comes with a handy clip to attach to the top of your monitor, and the camera magnetically snaps into place for simple setup. It includes a shutter to close off the camera and a selector switch to adjust video characteristics. It also includes a 3-point stand, a USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter, and several instructions. Since I already had a camera mount, I just attached it to that—that made everything even easier.
In summary, this is a pretty nice little camera for its price and features. If I could wish for anything, it would be for the small tripod to use a magnetic connection instead of an adapter to screw the camera onto. If that were possible, I’d replace my older mount with this smaller one. Even with this small wish, it’s still a great camera. Very reasonable price, lots of features. A great upgrade for an older camera.

YSK: This webcam delivers a sharp 2K image, quick autofocus, and surprisingly good automatic exposure adjustment. I tested it in both a bright room and with less than ideal evening lighting, and the camera kept my face properly exposed without turning the background into a glowing white void.
The 1080p high frame rate mode is especially useful for streaming or recording anything with movement. Video looked noticeably smoother than it does with a basic office webcam, while the larger sensor produced a clean and detailed picture. Autofocus responded quickly when I moved closer to show something on camera, then returned to my face without constantly hunting back and forth.
The built-in microphone did a good job isolating my voice during calls and reduced enough background noise that I did not immediately feel the need to connect a separate microphone. Gesture control is also more useful than I expected, particularly when stepping away from the desk or adjusting a stream without reaching for the mouse.
I also appreciate the physical privacy cover, which provides a much more convincing form of privacy than simply trusting that a tiny indicator light will always tell the truth. Setup on my PC was straightforward, and it worked without requiring a lengthy collection of drivers or troubleshooting rituals.
Overall, this feels like a major upgrade from a standard laptop or budget USB webcam. The image is clear, motion is smooth, and the autofocus, exposure control, microphone, and privacy cover all work together to make it an excellent camera for meetings, streaming, and recording. Amazing Little Webcam w/ Excellent Video Quality!
I've been very impressed with the UGREEN FineCam, I've had a few computer cameras but nothing quite like this yet. The image quality is sharp and clear thanks to the large sensor, and the 1080p at 60fps support makes video calls and streaming look much smoother than standard webcams. The autofocus works quickly and keeps me in focus even when I move around, while the Face AE feature does a good job adjusting exposure so I don't appear too dark or washed out. I also extremely appreciate the manual privacy cover as I can just keep the camera mounted and cover the lens without smudging it or worrying about being spied on.
The built-in AI noise-canceling microphone is another nice feature. It does a decent job reducing background noise during meetings and video calls. Gesture controls are also convenient for quickly managing certain functions without needing to click around. While I haven't directly experienced the audio, my friends have commented about how large this upgrade to my setup has felt.
I've previously been having to connect my Bluetooth earbuds to my PC just to get mix access, so this has been a huge quality of life improvement just to have everything built in one. The added long USB-C power cable is a nice touch when mounting the cam onto the included tripod as it allows me to move freely to show off items instead of bringing the items to the camera!

I ordered this UGREEN webcam for my work from home setup. I've been using a 1080p webcam from a different brand since 2021 and it has served me well. However, I liked the compact form factor of this UGREEN webcam and wanted to see if this would look nicer and offer better quality. Unfortunately, I can't say that it does. The image quality is worse than my 5+ year old webcam. I've tried to narrow down the pros and cons below.
Pros:
-Compact form factor and looks professional on top my monitor.
-Build quality is nicer than I've seen before.
-USB-C connection and USB-A adapter included.
-Magnetic bottom is convenient but... see cons.
-Built-in privacy cover but... see cons.
Neutral:
-Camera filters via spinner is meh and not great for work.
Cons:
-Image quality is not good for a brand new webcam in 2026. My 5+ year old webcam has significantly better image quality, light handling, saturation compensation, etc. I look like I'm using the integrated webcam.
-Magnetic bottom snaps to included monitor stand but does not hold position well enough to keep the same angle when closing/opening the privacy cover.
-Overpriced for the results you get.
I just can't recommend this webcam at this price point. Unless I received a defective unit, the image quality is poor for really any price point. Two stars because it's compact and looks professional.
