Absolutely Awesome Little Pedal!
I've always been a digital multi-effects kind of guy but as of late I've been getting into pedals. In looking for a distortion pedal to add to my collection I was at quite a loss since there are so many on the market these days. My goal was to get as close to Alex Lifeson's tone back in the early days (mid to late 70's) when he used a Gibson 335 and 50 watt Marshalls. I don't have that kind of equipment but what I do have these days is a Harley Benton HB 35+ and a cheap but awesome sounding Stage Right tube amp and this Wampler Plexi Drive. And believe it or not, while I can't actually hear the "Plexi" tone on my setup I sure can get close enough to Lifeson's early tone to be satisfied. The pedal takes up hardly any room and its settings are easy to get the tone you want fairly quickly. I like the drive at 9:00 (noon for a bit more bite), volume and tone at 3:00, bass toggle switch to the left and mid boost switch to the right, and I run it straight into the amp rather than through the effects loop. The build quality is solid, and its nice to look at too. Buy one and I don't think you'll regret it.
