Crisp image and great low light performance on Pi Zero 2W
I initially picked up this camera module in hopes of coercing it to work within my ESP32 setup, but it proved to be a bit too much to manage for that platform. That is certainly no fault of the camera itself, as ESP32 support was never claimed or advertised.
After pivoting to a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, I was able to get it functioning perfectly. The module utilizes an IMX290 sensor chip, delivering crisp 2MP video capture with distortion-free performance and impressive low-light sensitivity.
Plusses:
Easy to set up and works perfectly with Raspberry Pi boards like the Pi Zero 2W.
Crisp, detailed 2MP image output.
Excellent sensitivity in low-light conditions.
Negatives:
The value proposition is a bit questionable given the relatively high price point.
Final verdict: 4 out of 5 stars. It is a solid, high-performing camera for Raspberry Pi projects, though the price tag makes it a somewhat steep investment.
