Decent for the price.

So far the player works well, though I have only had it for a short time. I was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews, but a few of them appear to be incorrect. For example, some reviewers claim the device cannot be turned off, which is simply not true. It can be powered down without any issue.

Other reviews mention problems with the screen cracking. I cannot speak to long term durability yet, but the build quality seems reasonably solid for a device in this price range. As for reports of screen failures, that is something I will only be able to judge after using it for a longer period of time.

Pairing with my Bluetooth devices was quick and trouble free. The lanyard included with the player is fairly cheap, but considering the low cost of the device it is not a big concern.

One clear downside is the data transfer speed. File transfers are very slow, roughly between 800 KB/s and 2 MB/s. It also does not seem to connect reliably to a USB 3.0 port and works better when plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

The operating system is very basic, so do not expect a modern or particularly intuitive interface. The screen quality is also fairly average, but that is not a dealbreaker for my use case.

Overall, this device should work well for long walks when I want to listen to music without having to carry my phone.

IT HAS A VIRUS

The device has a trojan "trojan.decap/daws" inside the file "VideoTools_v4.46.rar" in the root folder. THE DEVICE HAS A VIRUS! DO NOT BUY!

30 Minutes of use and BRICKED ALREADY!!!!

I've just now loaded some of my music onto to this device. Listened to three songs. I was trying out the FM Radio feature and now the device is locked up on "Connect earphones as radio antenna". There is no obvious way to restart this device. It's just stuck.

I want to send this back but not with my music on it. I will work on it for another day or two. After that, this brick will be Returned.

UPDATE: This device did unlock on its own after about 4 hours. I tried to use the device on Friday. The Bluetooth connection to my car was cumbersome. It's not an automatic connection. I have to do too much to get it to connect. I primarily want a music player for my car. I thought this device was it but it's not. Also, iI tried to use it the Bluetooth connection to my headphones and it was intermittent, as others have said.

A representative with AGPTEK did email me in response but I'm not interested in troubleshooting and I'm not interested in a replacement. This device is being returned on Monday.

Can't use after a couple weeks. Locked out of it

The AGPTEK A19X is extremely disappointing when it comes to video playback. Despite converting files to AVI with very low specs (160×120, 320×240, and low FPS), I keep getting a 'Format Error.' It is clear that the video support is poorly implemented and impractical, likely requiring specific, obscure software that isn't clearly mentioned. This device is definitely not suitable if your goal is to play videos easily."

Continues to lock - noDirection on how to unlock

The device shows a lock screen after a few minutes of use. We cannot figure out how to unlock it… However, sometimes randomly it does unlock, but we cannot figure out how we did it. It would be nice if there were some troubleshooting instructions on that.

UPDATE: I figured it out. Gave it three instead of one.

I tried again, but selected "Missing or broken parts", and it opened a window to answer, "What is missing or broken" and I answered "The player is broken". That allowed me to ask for a replacement.

I got it the next day and encountered the same thing. It wouldn't connect to my PC. But then... I noticed on the player screen, when I plugged it in, I had to options to select from, 'Only charge battery' or 'Allow data transfer'. That is NOT in the instructions. When I plug it in, I'm looking at the Explorer window, not the device.

Once I selected 'data transfer', it connected.

As for how well it works, I haven't tried it yet. Still loading music.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

It will not connect to either my Windows laptop or my PC. It charges using the same cable but no data transfer.

I contacted Customer Support (called, the website doesn't work either) and after I repeated myself, three times, telling them I WAS INDEED using the cable that came with the device, I was told, 'We do not offer replacements.

Okay... They offer a video on connecting to Bluetooth, or the aforementioned Product Support page.

The screen/buttons are poor quality

The screen is very fragile. Other reviews I read mention similar problems. The screen broke one night I was listening to music and broke between me and the mattress. Also the volume up/down buttons would both turn the volume down.

I love this thing

For 40 bucks, this thing isn't bad. You get video playback, FLAC file support, and Bluetooth capabilities in one cheap device that fits in the palm of your hand. It has some weight to it, but that's not really important. The controls are pretty good, and the battery life is not too bad. But one thing I really like about this device is the fact that I can add a good bit of music to this thing, and it wouldn't even flinch. That's pretty good for a ~$40 MP3 player. This thing can drive IEMs with minimal hiss. I don't use anything super power hungry, but the fact it can drive those is a testament to what a good deal this is. You won't be disappointed one bit by it.

Horrible screen quality

The product was great for the 28 days it functioned, then I guess I must have bumped into something while it was in my pocket and next time I go to pull it out to change songs the screen is white with a crack across it... device was never dropped and nothing was ever pressed against the screen aside from being in the same pocket as my leather wallet... also wish they had thought to include a screen protector because even if my screen hadn't gone out it was all scuffed up just from rubbing against my wallet which means it's made from an inexcusably poor quality Glass if it's even tempered glass at all. If you absolutely have to by this device all I can say is you'll have to treat it like an egg in your pocket...

We are on our 3rd one

Got this the 15th, downloaded a few songs for our daughter and had our small Christmas on the 16th. She loves it and listened to songs right away. She put it down to clean her room and when she came back and turned it on the screen looked like this. Hopefully this is just a fluke. We will be returning it after we get back from being out of state for other Christmas events. She is bummed she can't take it to show her cousins. Again, hopefully this is just bad luck. We did purchase the two year protection plan. If this turns out to be bad luck, I would rate this 4 star.

Update 1-11-25: We are now on our third one of these. My daughter keeps having her playlists freeze and stop working. She can't see some of the songs on the screen that she has downloaded. Sometimes it will freeze when she goes to shut it off. We are looking into a whole new brand for her now.

Took a beating and kept on singing.

One may wonder what a wrecked motorcycle has to do with a MP-3 player. Allow me to explain. I recently took a ride on my full sized touring H-D using my AGPTEK MP-3 Player for music through my bikes' radio speakers. Not long after I started out I wrecked. The AGPTEK was in a glove box on the right side of the fairing. Today, four full days, nearly 100 hours after the accident, I retrieved my little gem from the wrecked bike. It was still playing my music. Not only was it playing music, it has only a few superficial scratches on it. The area of the bike shown in the photos is where the MP-3 was riding. It ain't a Timex, but took a beating and kept on singing. Nice little musical storage and replaying device. Highly recommend it.

BTW, i was wearing protective and safety gear, otherwise my AGPTEK would have out-lived me. I'll try not to let it.

Great Value and Functionality for Price!

I love the ease of use of the product. (Read instructions they tell you everything!) I’m able to use all my HiFi and Lossless audio files with my Bluetooth headphones and earbuds with this device. I received it as a gift and I love it (I did recommend it to the buyer so maybe a little biased). It’s great at the one job it has, being an audio player and supporting audio streaming to Bluetooth devices. The built in space is sufficient for 1000-5000 songs depending on the size and using songs between the SD card (TF Card) is really easy as well

Good product!

I love this! It works great, the sound is amazing, and I already dropped it on the concrete twice by accident and it still works good! Only thing is the chargee doesn't fully go in the port but other than that it's fine. Picture of the charger attached.

A Reallyworth while buying mp3 player.

I had to take back what I said earier about the Agptex 32gb mo3 player. The 1st one I got was a dud, but this new one works just the way it's suppose to work. This mp3 player is kinda heavy,(feels well built and solid.) All the lighted keys respond to touch. I think you will feel you got your money's worth out of this unit.

A poor device overall, with significant flaws

Updated 9/11 After having product for 39 days, the power button quit working. The device would power on when plugged in, until screensaver shut it down, but no other way. Manual says to fix issue like this to reset device by pressing & holding power button, which doesn't work because the button doesn't work. The manufacturer, however, leaves much to be desired. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Original review: Purchased and received this product on July 26th. Posted this July 31st. Pictures show numerous scratches and damage already on the new device. This damage is from being in my cotton shorts pocket. The interface is very clunky, it loses your place, very annoying when listening to a book, when it powers down. Or leave it on, which runs down battery. Or try to remember where you were when shut off. The Bluetooth is poor, struggling to maintain connexlction when player in pocket on same side as Bluetooth device. But by far the most annoying defect of this product is that it plays randomly. Like sitting still on the counter and it starts playing. Not occasionally, but 4 times so far today, at 9:30 am. I would not buy again, and I regret this purchase. I will be finding an alternative device for my needs.

Huge album organizing issue

What a horrible design. The simple concept of listening to an album from start to finish is not possible. Every album has the songs in random order. Why is this the case? Also, it holds a lot of albums (32g) so why make someone who wants to play an album that starts with the letter S have to scroll for 5 minutes? The old Sony MP3 players had letters grouped so you could jump ahead. This is a huge waste of what is otherwise a good looking player.
