Love in very old house full of dust and a cat that shed more than thought possible! Don't buy

A full week of use with my airthereal air purifer running on highest setting with very wide grates for easy air flow through filter. Their isn't even 1 single piece of cat hair collected on prefilter or any dust in the hepa filter. My house is basically made of cat hair and dust. I had to keep checking their wasn't some kind of plastic wrappings on filters I missed because I could see floating cat hair in the air near the machine and it wasn't being pulled closer to it at all it was just drifting along until caught in the current of air coming out of the air outlet. I tried the tissue paper or toilet paper test to see if any air was getting through the filter and NOTHING.

I ran it in highest mode for a week and a couple days non stop day and night on highest setting because of the enormous amount of dust in my room/entire house, my nearly 50 plants i collected that are growing up here in my room many of which like to dry out for a while between waterings and puts a ton of dust in air from perlite, lava rocks, coco coir, rice hulls, pumice, as well as a serious amount of cat hair I'm severely allergic to. It's especially bad when i am making a new batch of my potting mix having all those things out and mixing stirring throwing into pots. Their is so much dust from the shaft carpeting in my very old house in my room. My room is the entire 4th floor of my home but about half is walled off and used for storage so total square footage of my space is around like 740ft².

I had high hopes for this air purifier but once again we have a company so concerned with making sure the machine is so whisper quiet even on highest settings that it has to reduce motor power reducing the CADR + CFM, making it impossible for the whisper quiet fan that has to run slower, can not pull air through tightly woven thick hepa filters and pre filters and carbon filters stacked together in the machine.

So after almost 2 weeks of use I checked filter to see how much dust and hair it was pulling out of the air in my room to judge whether it was worth keeping or not. Check my pictures. Their is not a single piece of cat hair not even like a 1inch spot where dust and hair collected it's completely brand new looking. I didn't need to even bother to rinse the prefilter before packing to return. No possible way this is capable of cleaning rooms up to 3500ft² in an hour. Or at all.

It's sad this was made for homes with pets and I can watch my cats small hair floaters in the air float right past the air purifier blasting on high mode, and just not be effected at all. It will float right by and settle somewhere.

The fact not even 1 piece of cat hair was sucked into the filter makes me wonder if this machine was accidentally built wrong or something. Like has reverse polarity or design flaws I don't know. But since nothing actually passed through the filter I am assuming it won't be helpful with any pet odors either. The fan does have nice amount of air being thrown out the clean air outlet but it's not clean air just the room air that's being circulated I'm the fan area and blown back out. (Area where fan is doesn't ensure that the air it's generating is pulled through the filter. Instead they just pulled a cheap fan into a big open space for the dirty room air to fill i may as well have just bought a low quality regular fan.

All that being said the rest of the design is awesome and more companies should follow this model (except the fan on top. Should be encased deep inside the machine down right at the filter in a way that the air has to pull through the filter. This brand almost got it right. The have an awesome way of locking the filter in place so their is not a single seam where sorry can just flow through bypassing the filter all together. Locks into place and has extra wide grated outside. WHY COMPANIES THIUGHT SMALL 1 AND 2MM SIZED HOLES TO CRESTE THE OUTER GRATE WAS A GOOD IDEA BLOWS MY MIND, Not only does that create a lot of resistance when hepa filters are hard enough to pull air through on their own and if nothing but the smallest stuff in the air can fit through those holes then what's the point.

So the grates the way they lock in the filter and the filter itself all awesome. Just too focused on making it quiet instead of focusing on ensuring their is enough power to pull 3500ft² of air filled space through the filter every hour is just gonna require a strong fan that will be noisy if you want your air to be cleaned rather than making sure you don't have to turn up the tv volume a little people would rather buy these expensive machines and run them in sleep mode consistently. All that does is raise the electric bill a little and a very low powered fan might move some uncleaned room air around a tiny bit. I don't even know why that's an option because power that low is no match for a thick tightly woven HEPA filter and it's additional pre and carbon and mesh filters as well

Smart, H13 HEPA, 360°, open design, and works great.

I have air purifiers in just about every room in my house. I own a Germ Guardian, Newwave, Mila, and multiple Airthereal units. This one and the Mila are my only smart purifiers. Although the Mila has the most features, it doesn't clean the air as well. This unit is my favorite out of the bunch. Not only do I get smart features to control it from my phone, but it performs the best out of all of my air purifiers. I like the open grid design because it's able to suck up bigger particles like dog fur. It has an H13 HEPA filter. There are multiple apps that you can add this to for the smart features. Personally, I chose to use Smartlife because I already had it set up. This has four fan speeds and an auto mode. It is quiet on the lower setting but does get loud on the highest setting, but moves a ton of air. The indicator lights give a nice ambient glow. The lights change colors depending on the air quality. This is a great purifier, especially if you have a shedding pet.

Fantastic, functional, and beautiful

This air purifier works like a charm. When I use the air fryer or vape by it, it’s gets to running a million miles a minute. The app is very easy to set up. And let’s state the obvious, it’s stunning!!! This gives me peace of mind that me and the kitty’s are breathing the best air - my vet recommended I get an air purifier while we are working on diagnosing my fur baby who has suddenly developed chronic vomiting and sudden enlarged spleen/pancreas. She’s tested negative for just about everything in the book, so airborne illnesses was top of our list for possibilities since we are thinking it’s a super rare condition with undeveloped testing now. Loving having this and knowing it’s functioning correctly.

Bigger than expected but also much quieter than expected.

So first off this is quieter than I thought it would be, it can be louder when at fully speed but it has a self adjusting mode and that what I leave it on and after it ran for a little bit its able to just run steady at low. I got this because one of our cats has a habit of not covering their doody sometimes and while we clean the boxes pretty much every day there is no hiding that smell when left to the open. This certainly helps keeping that area in much better working order and that's what I hoped it would do.

It pulls air in from the sides and then blows it straight up which does a great job of circulating the air in the room and helping to keep it clean. It's a good size and is taller than wide so it's able to fit into a corner or smaller area easily. It seems well made and everything fits together tightly and clicks nicely when locking everything in. It's easy to use and works as well as I would hope and all the controls are accessible from the top of the filter. I would like if the power plug was at the bottom of the machine or at least if it were angled so it fit tightly against it. It sticks out kind of far so it can be in the way and then the cord hangs and can get caught but this is a minor issue overall.

Not just for pet hair

Something came as a surprise to me. There was a smell in the room and I decided this is the first place to test it out, and in almost no time, the air seemed smell free, much to my surprise. Set up is quick and easy, as there are only 3 parts that click together. The fan is pretty quiet and the buttons are easy to figure out. Overall, it's working quite well!

High Quality Air Purifier

This air purifier is great for households with pets. I have guinea pigs and a hay allergy and have noticed I've had less of a reaction around them than I usually do. I think it's helping cut down on the dust, particularly from the hay. It's quiet and feels high quality. I'm really happy with this so far!

SO much bigger than I expected!

When this was dropped off, my jaw dropped! I was NOT expecting the box to be that big, nor was I expecting this to be as large as it was. Yes they have dimensions, but the pictures were pretty off in size comparison. I was kind of expecting it to be maybe to milk cartons stacked on top of each other in size…but it is WAY bitter than that. I made a video so you can see it under my desk…it’s FANTASTIC!!! I am so HAPPY it is the size it is, so make no mistake about that. It was a VERY pleasant surprise.

Set up was super easy, it was just unboxing it, removing ALL the plastic (don’t forget the plastic on the filter), plugging it in, and adding the app. The app is free to use and called AIR AI on my apple App Store. I did make an account, but that also took seconds. Then you press the night mode for a few seconds on the machine, and it goes into pairing mode, connecting easily with my phone. The machine itself does display the air quality, as does the app. You can also control the fan on the app, as in the speed, schedule if you want one, child lock, and timer.

The lights do mean things, the green light means it’s healthy air, orange is mid, and red is poor air quality. It goes through all three upon start up. Mine hasn’t changed from green to any other color, so I will take that as a sign my room is decent air quality.

I do have a cat, and thought it was funny as I was brushing her and the hair soft of drifted to the filter. Which means, it works as it claims to help with pet dander.

My ONE complaint, which is honestly my ONLY complaint, is I wish you can have the machine running but turn the light off. If you can do it, I have not figured out how. If you press sleep mode, it does turn the light off, but then it also mostly turns off too and only a tiny bit of air can be felt. I want the fan running while I sleep, without the lights. I will read through the instructions again and see if I missed something, but so far I have not found a way to do it.

I love this though. Super happy with it.

Powerful Air Purifier with Excellent Coverage

This air purifier is magnificent! It’s running right now and easily covers my bedroom from my living room (truly living up to the 3500 sq ft claim). I took it to my bedroom and the air quality sensor was the same, meaning it was covering my room from the living room. The filters last 6–8 months, and replacement costs are very reasonable at 85 dollars for 2 filters. With a shedding cat, this purifier is already making a huge difference. I included a picture with a 25lb dumbbell for size reference. 10/10 recommend!
