So the camera fits tight in the case, which is nice but it may be a little to tight. Case frame started cracking just from normal use of opening it to change the battery. It finally broke completely in two. I contacted customer support and they're sending a replacement for $10.00 shipping charge. Without the case the camera is just a camera. Might as well use your phone.

AKASO Brave 7 is GREAT for me!
I owned a action camera in the past and was never happy with the results. I purchased the AKASO Brave 7 to use when traveling. I did a lot of testing and I have been really happy with the performance. There are a ton of options the can produce really good results and they are availble using the touch screen. I will carry my camera with me and use it a lot.

Awesome quality!
I've used the other brand G.P. and I've used the Akaso and I'll I'm going to say is I'm not going back to G.P. Price is affordable quality is great. Looking forward to recording more content with the Akaso company, we'll worth the price! Easy touch screen simple, nice and compact, and the battery has a decent life span.

It's not cheap. It's reasonably priced
You know for being reasonably priced because I am not going to say cheap. Because this thing is not cheap. It doesn't feel cheap. Everything feels quality. If you're just looking to vlog, motorcycle rides or hit the Alps and snowboard and stuff here, this is perfect. I am not a content creator by any means but I do love recording my rides and this also protects me in case something happens. All in all, everything that you get is fantastic. The camera it functions as supposed to and it's good quality. So you cannot go wrong with this camera at all whatsoever, if you're on the fence about it, just go ahead and do it just like I did and you won't regret it

Unusable Audio, Severe Fogging, and Rapid Corrosion.
I purchased the Akaso Brave 7 seeking a reliable and affordable action camera for my travels, and I have now used it three major times since 2021. Unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing due to critical performance and durability failures that serious buyers must know about.
The Major Issues (Dealbreakers):
Unusable Native Audio (Since Day 1): This is a complete dealbreaker for video creation. The built-in microphone produces extremely poor, unusable audio—it is tinny, distorted, and makes captured sound effectively worthless. If you require any level of quality sound, you must plan to use an external microphone or look elsewhere.
Waterproofing/Fogging Failure (Critical): Despite the camera's high waterproof rating, the lens cover consistently fogs up during every single use in the ocean, even after attempting to acclimate the camera to the environment. This has ruined all of my underwater and water-level footage across three different trips, making the camera unfit for its primary advertised purpose.
Corrosion & Poor Durability: After only three instances of very brief, light exposure to saltwater, the camera has experienced a complete breakdown of internal seal mechanisms. There is significant corrosion on the slide mechanisms for the battery door and charge/data port. The doors are now almost impossible to open without using a tool, proving the materials and seals do not hold up. Yes - I rinsed the camera in fresh water soon after each use and dried it,etc.
The Good (What I Liked):
Video Resolution: The overall video clarity is acceptable for the price point.
Customer Support (Initial): In 2021, support was helpful in restoring factory settings after an initial color issue.
Overall Summary and Recommendation:
While the price is tempting, the persistent, critical flaws—unusable audio, consistent lens fogging in water, and rapid corrosion after minimal use—make the Akaso Brave 7 impossible to recommend for anything beyond basic, dry, recreational shooting. Do not buy this camera for serious video work or any regular use in saltwater.
I am going to try to repurpose it as a dashcam. Maybe it can handle that?
I uploaded a really raw video from our last trip. You can see the fogging and hear the audio quality. So frustrating!

Great value for the money! Compact and easy to use.
This is my first action camera. I bought the Brave 7 after some research on the makes and models that would provide the best performance for the money. I find the Brave 7 easy to operate, and still with a lot of options and features. I reported a problem with the camera's case, which was promptly solved by Akaso support. I have now taken pictures and videos with the camera and find it easy to handle, fun to use, and to learn. Now, my wife's fishing adventures will be properly documented!

Not bad for price
Not a bad little camera for the price. Took great videos with help from a great suction cup mount. The sound quality is not premium and unfortunately to use an external microphone is not possible. But editing with music makes up for it. See more videos on my YouTube "Parrino's Garage "

Small Camera, Big Adventures!!!
I recently purchased the Akaso Brave 7 action camera for my travels and hikes, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The image quality is stunning, capturing every detail of my adventures. I was particularly impressed by the optical image stabilization, which keeps my footage smooth even during the most intense activities.
While I love everything about this camera, there is one small drawback: I can't use both screens simultaneously. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall performance.
I've used this camera for hiking, biking, and even a bit of kayaking, and it has consistently delivered excellent results. It's rugged, durable, and perfect for anyone who loves to explore. I would highly recommend the Akaso Brave 7 to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable action camera, especially for travelers and adventure seekers

Excellent customer care
Updated review:-
Customer service reached out to me concerned at my experience and sent out a whole replacement to me this time. The big difference I immediately noticed was that the camera now slipped in and out of the case easily where the previous product the fit was too tight and it was always a struggle to get the camera in and out of the case. I am hopefull this will put less strain on the clip and fix the failure issue I was getting with the original product. I did also note that the camera case was different to the original ones I had received so with luck the issue I had has now been resolved. I'll update the review if anything changes. 5 stars for the company's customer service and thank you for reaching out to me to ensure satisfaction.
Original review:- The case has broken twice on me now, the clip that closes the case is a massive failure point held on by some patheticly weak little plastic pieces that break leaving you unable to secure the camera in the case to use it. Absolute waste of money for an "action camera". First time Akaso sent me a replacement case, this time after it failed again after hardly any use at all I have given up on this brand. Why design an action camera and sell it with a case that is so pathetically weak?

I really like these!
Update: Customer service reached out and sent me a new one, no questions asked. For a quarter of the price of a crappy gopro you really can't beat this camera. The video is absolutely amazing, the software doesn't require a subscription to pull content and ultimately is pretty flawless for an action cam. If I manage to destroy this one I prolly would purchase again anywho. Also I mounted it on my helmet, is super light and weight was negligible. Forgot I even had it. First and foremost, these take excellent photos and video! I started with the Brave 5. The camera itself is made of cheap plastic and I managed to crush it doing actiony things. The video actually came from the Brave 5 with the case on it. Sound and all is amazing. I then decided to try another upgrading to the Brave 7. It flooded my first time using it in a pool even though is supposed to be waterproof to 30 feet 🤨 Just bad luck on me I supposed. For the price you can't beat the video quality but recommend you keep the case on it all times. The sound still comes out fantastic even with the case on.

Absolutely love my Brave 7!
The Brave 7 has helped my business grow by including photos and time-lapse videos that I have made while washing the exterior of homes in my ads. The camera settings are very easy to understand with plenty of options for different conditions. The camera came with two batteries, a charger, and many attachments. The only accessory that I needed to purchase was a tall tripod which holds my camera steady while I work. One battery lasts for approximately 3 hours of filming. I'm really glad that I made the purchase. 5-STARS!!!

Decent for non content creators.
I recently took the camera to Mexico with me. I went snorkeling in the sea with it twice and found that it worked beautifully for what I needed it for. I am not a Content creator, but simply wanted a way to record memories at a decent quality. I felt like the stability was pretty decent. I don't find that audio is important, so I turned the audio recording off. I found it simple and quick to download the photos via Wi-Fi from the device to my phone. The app could use some work but it works fine for what I needed it to be

The price and materials quality
This is my first cam of this type, so I can't compare it with others; I'm learning to use it. I took my first videos; they could have been better cause I had not adjusted some details in the configuration, but I'll improve; the image and video quality seem reasonable to me. I like what I got for the price, and like I'm beginning, I'm happy with my camera. I recommend it; I'll share photos and videos of my following vacations taken with my action camera Akaso.

Very happy with my Akaso Brave 7 😊
Great inexpensive waterproof action camera!! I needed an inexpensive, good camera to take on vacation to Cozumel, I am so happy I chose the Brave 7. The videos came out great! The motion stabilizer works awesome. We took it with us on our deep-sea fishing trip and the waters were a little rough but the video turned out super smooth. I also used it snorkeling without the optional waterproof case with no problem. I’m attaching screenshots of the videos with the dive setting on and off to show the difference in the results. The first two pictures (the bluer ones) are with it off. I think next time I take it snorkeling, I’ll have a light for it as well. The picture of the pool was taken with the Brave 7 (not a screenshot from video).
Super pleased with my choice of camera!

Remote comes with an older style charging port, but no cable
My underatanding is that this was charged with USB-C, and thats how the camera batteries are charged. The cable was included for that. The remote, on the other hand, has the older style charging port and no cable to charge it came with the package. Fortunately there's lots of the old style cables around, but I really had to dig to find one at home. A cable should have been sent with it.

Broken case after 1st battery!
The camera itself performs very well, with many options I probably won't need. I'm not a vlogger or anything, just wanted something to video the holidays. I was just "playing" around, taking video of my dog, testing it out in low light (which it does quite well), but the audio doesn't pick up very good... That's to be expected for what you paid for, just use a mic. The main concern is that the case latch broke when taking out the 1st battery, it still had 30% left, but I thought I'd change it out and test the second battery to see how much time I actually could record since I didn't keep track of it on the 1st battery because I was messing with the settings alot. No big deal I thought, I'll just buy a metal case like the big name brand has, but I can't find one for the Brave 7. You can go to Akaso's web site and order another plastic one for $16.99 PLUS $15 SHIPPING! That's rediculous, I finally found a plastic one for $19.99. I could see if it were a year old or it got dropped or something. You can't attach any accessories without the case, so it's something you got to have. I would give a 5 star review if it weren't for the case. I'll try to get in touch with customer service and see what they say about it.

Replacement for my previous Brave 7 that's at the bottom of the river.
The last Brave 7 served me well on some outdoor adventures but ended up somewhere below "fuzzy box of kittens" on the Gauley river after the raft landed on my head and shattered the mount. Moral of the story is TETHER YOUR CAMERA. Good camera for making videos for myself and groups I volunteer with. I don't normally publish my video in 4K, so I typically shoot in 1080P60 which gives some pretty smooth video and battery life. Image stabilization is good for the price point. The remote control works well, it's nice to know whether you're actually recording or not without having to be looking at the back of the camera. If you're looking for a solid action camera for a decent price, I don't think you can go wrong here. You get everything you need for one price. As a side note, it's ALMOST the same size as a GoPro 7 and I was able to get a floaty for it to fit the brave 7 when it's in the mounting frame- not perfect but it's not coming out anytime soon.

Does exactly what I need it to do!
I had this camera in a wish list for some time, as I was given a bit of concern due to some of the video reviews on utube which hit sound quality quite hard, which continue even after a reported fix. But, it seemed the best "reasonable cost" mid-range action camera out there, with plenty of features, so I bought it. While I have only done a few test videos, I have been very satisfied with the purchase, and have "not even a hint" of dissatisfaction with its quality or capabilities. In the attached sample video, it does a very good job handling the transition between sunlit and shadowed area, clear focus on close-by and distant objects in the same frame, and has very sharp image quality, to me at least. The included set of accessories allows a broad range of mounting options, to which I have added a suction cup mount.
The Akaso Brave 7 definitely fits into the "I'd buy it again but hope I never have too" category, but who knows, I might want to film the same event from multiple angles, in which case, I'd get another.

Using it mounted on my handlebar (after first using the helmet straps).
Have used it several times now and used the cables provided to transfer the photos and videos to my PC. Everything gets easier with repetition. Any frustrations this 66-year-old had were easily solved with a google search and plenty of help videos on-line.
It is pretty amazing how clear and in focus the photos are. I can easily zoom in for details when viewing those photos.
The basic 128gb Memory Card I bought has been more than enough to last between downloads.
My setup took some time. I had to move a few thinks on the already crowded handlebars so I could place the Camera, see my bike's GPS/Computer, Phone and still reach the bell. I loaded the Ap on my Phone and using the Wi-Fi controlled the camera and used it to view or preview the camera's images and choose between 'photo' or 'video'.
The AP will let you know when the battery is running low so you can stop and swap in a fresh one before it has to drop out the Wi-Fi. Plan on about 30 minutes unless you have upgraded batteries.
Mounting on the handlebar was so much better that the helmet and it goes unnoticed. When it was on my helmet, everyone looked at me and asked questions about it (I felt like a roving reporter, luckily the AP allowed me to stop the video).
FYI: if you are mounting to a Road Bike with thicker handlebars .... what I did was, separate the plastic covers from 2 of the longer screws, then cut about 1/4" off of the tips of the plastic, slide the covers back on and now those screws were effectively 1/4" longer, which allowed me to fasten the mounting to the handlebars.
Have fun and keep playing with it,
Here is what I shared after the very first use:
Used it just once. Haven't off-loaded or uploaded the first set of videos yet. Hoping that that is easy. There are 3 different cable connections. The only cable provided (correction, all the cables were there) was for charging the Batteries which each only lasted for 30 minutes of video so I expect I will be getting emails about buying higher capacity batteries. There is a connection to the camera for a USB-C cable and another connection on the remote that matched my old phone's cable, so I used that (the cables were all in the package, I was just overwhelmed with so many parts and cables). There are 7 mount options and several straps. It would have been nice if the bicycle connection could handle the thicker handlebars of my road bike (solved this one, see above), so I strapped it on my helmet instead.
I used the AKASO AP on my phone and with a handlebar mount for the phone I was able to control the camera that way. Could not yet figure out how to set it up to take a photo every 3, 5 or 10 seconds.
The instructions appear pretty spare. Perhaps YouTube or the AKASO AP will help me get there.
Why am I giving feedback so early? I just registered the warranty, and it asked me to share my thoughts now. Hope that I'll learn a lot in the next few weeks and remember to come back here and updating my review. By the way, this unit (Brave 7) does not come with the clear plastic waterproof case, so I can't rate water resistance and have no intention of using it in the water.

Came defective (recording sound is intermittent) + blurry, grainy and pixelated videos indoors
UPDATE 2:
The AKASO client service turned out to be amazing. The company values its reputation and definitely is client-oriented. Even though I didn’t notice their emails at once, they made multiple tries to reach out to me suggesting a replacement or full refund to make my experience positive with their brand. As soon as I replied back they sent me a screenshot of an order, - they shipped me a camera of my choice, - Brave 7LE as a replacement at no charge. The customer support representatives are very polite and prompt to answer emails.
Initial review:
Even though the reviews were mostly positive and this camera looks really decent, I am not happy with what this camera can provide at this point.
Well, for that price I could live with the average quality of stabilization; and, alas, also would not be able to film good videos in rooms that lack natural lighting to some extent during the day (too blurry; where phone cameras manage to do it way better using no flash) , let alone nighttime filming when videos come out very grainy and sometimes very pixelated. I would also end up buying their external mic too (no wireless options from what I read).
But on top of it all the camera seems to be defective (if I am not missing smth in terms of settings), - sound in recordings is just intermittent. Sometimes it cyclically appears-disappears for a few seconds; sometimes after several seconds it is completely gone till the end of the recording.
I hope I will be provided a replacement for the same price, given I bought it during Cyber Monday (yep, I received it only yesterday, so its delivery also took that long) to at least film outdoors, otherwise will have to return.
UPDATE:
Resetting to factory settings helped fix the sound issue (on the third try) but not sure how long it will last.

Great Action Camera That Wont Break The Bank!
Well if your like me and you find yourself in the market for an action camera but dont want to spend all the money on one of the popular and in my opinion overpriced cameras on the market, I'm about to save you the time and effort I put in to doing the research on the best action camera with the most features at the best price! For me it came down to the Akaso Brave 7! Its a wonderful camera, shoots up to 4K 30FPS waterproof right out of the box, Image stabilization, and so much more amazingly feature rich you'll be amazed. Plus the set up was easy including installing and formatting the micro sd card U3 Class 10 up to 64GB. Make sure to stay within the manufacturer recommended parameters when choosing your micro sd card, format in the camera and you'll be good to go very quickly as I was!
I wanted to get an action camera as I am a part time vlogger and was planning to travel internationally and had the need for an action camera but didn't want to spend big bucks on one. So I did a lot of home work, even purchased a couple other brands that I ended up returning before I turned to Akaso for the solution to my need, and I wasn't disappointed! It's a great camera, I have been enjoying using it for my social media channels and it has worked great, we are really pleased with its performance and quality for the price! So if you are looking for an alternative to the expensive action cameras, look no further than Akaso, they got you covered!

Lived up to what I excepted
My 14 year old son wanted a camera he could take on his boy scout adventures and skateboarding. He took this camera with him to Seabase High Adventure, BSA in the Florida Keys. His boy scout troop went sailing for 10 days. He was able to snorkel in shallow water for 30 minutes with no issue. (following the directions stating camera is water resistant not water proof). He has taken it skateboarding, hiking, and kayaking. The camera has survived the rough active life of a 14 year old boy.
It would be nice if in the future a waterproof box would be made to fit the camera. This would allow deeper and longer underwater adventure. Could take scuba diving. Also making filters to go inside the waterproof case to get a underwater detail and clarity. A red filter would take even better pictures.
My son wants me to include his suggestion. He thinks it would be cool to be able to put the camera on the dog when hiking. The camera needs a case for safety if it falls off or the dog is playing rough. Also needs to fit on a quick release collar or have a safe way to attach to the dog.
The family has loved seeing my son's pictures and videos. I would buy it again. A good product for the price. Good customer service, quick response via email. The pictures downloaded to this review were taken in the Florida Keys at Seabase July 2021. My son did not put the correct date when taking the pictures.

Whats with this noise??
Video was great
BUT THE STATIC IS TERRIBLE!!
My wife bought me an Akaso Brave 7 for our Anniversary. It turned out that it had a major audio problem. Static.
The sound was like my posted video.
I still had time to return it and receive a another before we left to our wonderful beach, scuba diving and snorkeling location. I also ordered an external microphone since the audio is rather poor quality.....
a well known problem to Akaso.
Well, I recieved the replacement just days before we were to leave. Yaaaa.
I pulled it out of the box and guess what?
IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
AND, the external microphone didn't come.
AND, it looked like a refurbished camera. There were tiny scratches near the lens and on the side. (???????)
The REALLY SAD thing is that we were so excited to be able to hear my wife and her silly jokes and my reporter•esk interviews about our years together. All those memories are gone except for when we used our phones.
I needed those moments recorded because I'm losing my memory.
I'm returning this item and hope to find something with better quality audio even if I need to pay more $$$
Larry,
P.s. I tried different ways to hold the camera to see if i was the problem..... you know, human error. Nope. Wasn't me.

Akaso 7 edited review.
***Old review***
Got this camera to take to Hawaii on a vacation. First snorkel, the thing filled up with water. Visible water in the lens. This camera specifically states that it is IPX8 without a case!
***End old review***
In response to the previous review above, Akaso reached out to me and sent me another unit of this Brave 7 camera. The fact that Akaso reached out of their own accord to correct this situation, I find very impressive and is something you don't see much these days.
I have tested the camera and can confirm that it is waterproof without an external case. Perhaps I got a faulty unit the first time. Even with the first camera, I was impressed by the video and photo capture of the device. I have included a short video demonstrating the new units waterproof capabilities.
I have noticed that the screen seems much snappier and navigation is far improved from my previous unit. I'll be taking this on the bike to see how it performs in a real-world setting soon.
Again, the fact that Akaso reached out to rectify the issue is very impressive and demonstrates the positive customer service approach that Akaso has as a company.

Great cheaper version of the GO PRO
I bought this for my son for graduation. I want to use it for biking and water sports. It comes with the bike attachment. You will have to buy the waterproof case separate. I also bought:
SanDisk 512GB Ultra MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - 120MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, A1, Micro SD Card - SDSQUA4-512G-GN6MA. You will need it to get your camera up and running. I choose the higher quality SD card because some people on the internet claimed the camera had a hard time reading the lesser quality SD card. It also comes with all the accessories I have in the second picture. I had to watch a couple YouTube videos to get it operational. Glad to have them to watch. It was super simple to follow and I got my camera up and running pretty quickly. This camera can do a lot you will just have to use it a couple of times to get the hang of it. Work your way through all the settings to see what this camera is capable of.. The battery last about 2 hours, there is a second battery included so make sure you have it with you. All in all it is a great alternative to the gopro.

Excellent quality Action camera
I bought this Akaso Brave 7 action cam to make fishing videos for my YouTube channel. All I can say is wow!!! This camera is awesome. The picture quality, video quality, versatility and ease of use puts this camera right up there in the same class as the Go Pro camera, but for 1/3 the price. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. I’m a professional photographer and videographer so knowing how to adjust the settings to my benefit, gives me the ability to create awesome video quality footage. AKASO did and excellent job creating this camera. Things I like about this camera (Waterproof, Image Stabilization feature, Picture and Video quality) The image stabilization feature comes into great use when I’m filming on a rocking boat. The only thing I do wish is that the battery life would last a little longer, but that’s minor considering all of the amazing features and the price.
