Incredeibly deep and thoughtful professional features
Incredeibly deep and thoughtful professional features
Comes with light, softbox with diffuser and grid, a proprietary attachment grip that holds power sources, AC power supply and separate AC cable, a well-made carry case, and a basic attachments card. Notably not included is a printed manual. The softbox attachment is plastic but is very sturdy. Given the light is Bowens mount, it's easy enough to change that.
The AC power supply is mounted via a very secure strap to the handle, but you can easily replace it with a V-Mount battery or Power bank and connect using the USB-C power-in port.
Since a light with this deep feature set must have a detailed manual, I went to the website and downloaded the PDF. Personally, I have no problem with this because, rather than having a paper manual, which are often lost, I always install the PDF manual on both my computer and phone so it is readily available and easily searchable.
The light is incredibly thin. Has a power button, menu selection button, return button, and a spinning knob. A noteworthy feature of the spinning knob is that with a quick spin, it will quickly traverse the entire range of a given setting. This is just one example of the thoughtfulness put into some of the features. There's a locking power input, a USB-C power source option, a propetary locking magnetic mount for the handle, a full size Bowens mount lock/release button, and a 1/4 inch mount on the top. The carry bag is sturdy and efficiently spaced for all the peripheral supplies.
The menu system and related features go above and beyond what I'd expect for a light in the price range. CCT menu has an extremely wide color temperature range of 2300K to 10,000K. Yet there's a CCT+ option which extends that from 1800K to an incredible 20,000K range! There's also a Green / Magenta option often missing from other less expensive lights. There's both an RGB and HSI option. I appreciate that both are included depending on the precision needed to control color output. Of course, there's an FX option with a wide array of effects with speed variability. There's also a Language menu, but it only offers English and Chinese, and a Bluetooth button for on/off reset. There are a few more unique options which further exemplify the deep professional feature set. Custom allows you to set a shortcut feature to a specific setting you may need frequent access to. Studio mode turns on the light immediately when powered on, avoiding the double press of the power button you'd otherwise need. Fan has a Silent mode (off) or Smart mode (variable). While the fan is very quiet, there may be times when you need it off completely, although it will limit power output to prevent overheating. HFR High Frame Rate mode avoids flicker at up to 240fps although it prevents Intensity from going under 50%. Since many cameras now support 240fps, it's nice to be able to shoot without flicker. Information shows the software and hardware version and the date of the firmware release. It's easy to update the firmware using the app.
Amaran does have a very feature-rich app that allows you to control your Amaran lights individually (and have I many) or as a group. It offers the same complete controls in the menu with easier access, especially since the light, once mounted, may be a bother to access by hand.
The light, included accessories, and deep features make this an incredible value for the price. It's competitive with much more expensive lights.

A very capable light for its size.
The Ray 60c is the kind of light that makes a lot of sense once you actually have to carry your lighting somewhere. It is remarkably compact for a full-color COB light, but 60W is still enough output to make it useful rather than merely convenient. With the Octa Dome 30 included, it makes a very nice small soft light for interviews, product photography, video calls, and other situations where you don't need to illuminate an entire room.
The USB-C PD compatibility is probably my favorite feature. Being able to run a light like this from a suitable power bank makes it considerably more versatile than a typical AC-only fixture, particularly for location work. I don't love the AC adapter, but you can simply bring whatever USB-C power source makes sense for the job.
The RGB and CCT range is excellent, with 2,300K–10,000K and full HSI control giving you plenty of flexibility. The included softbox, mounting hardware, and carrying bag make this feel like a complete kit rather than a light that requires another $100 of accessories before it becomes useful.
For $189, this is a very capable little fixture. It won't replace a bigger key light when sheer output matters, but that's not what it's designed to do. Its combination of size, output, color control, and power flexibility is what makes it particularly useful. I do not love the control setup with the wheel on top that changes resistance based on menu item. It isn't confidence inspiring and I dread it ceasing to work one day.

Unbeatable portability and value for content creators
As a content creator who films a lot in my office, I find myself turning to this light again and again. At around 100W (or maybe a little less), it is incredibly lightweight and portable, and the included carrying case is brilliant. There's even a handy card inside that shows you exactly how to pack everything back up when you're done. The whole experience of unpacking and using it is just superb.
The softbox integrated into the front of the light is super quick and easy to fold out, lock into place, and collapse down when you're finished. The included directional grid also really helps soften and direct the light so you can use it as a key light without spilling light all over the background. On top of that, the physical dials on the light are intuitive and easy to use, and it offers smart features so you can control everything right from your phone.
The light output is incredibly clean and predictable, which makes editing and color grading later a breeze. It also features color modes, so if you want to use it as a background or hair light, you can really play around and get creative.
The one thing worth noting is that it doesn't throw off a massive amount of light, so I do find myself keeping it pretty close to the scene. If you need something brighter, you might want to opt for a 120W model. But for quick video production, small studios, or filming in an office or family room, it puts off just enough light for a variety of scenarios. It is super easy to throw up, turn on, and start filming.
At around $180, the value here is unbeatable. It checks all the boxes for me as a filmmaker and content creator, and it has stood the test of time because of how fast and effortless it is to set up. I see no reason to give it anything less than five stars. Hope this helps!

Professional Lighting in an Incredibly Compact Package
I am absolutely amazed by the Amaran Ray 60c RGB. Over the years, I've experimented with plenty of budget lighting options for my photos and videos, but this is the first light that truly feels like a professional tool without sacrificing portability. I'm not a professional photographer or filmmaker, but I create a lot of content, and having a compact light that I can quickly pack up and take anywhere is exactly what I was looking for. See my video for the unboxing and demo.
The first thing that impressed me was just how small and lightweight it is. It fits easily into the included carrying bag, yet it delivers far more output than I expected from a 60W light. The included Octa Dome softbox sets up quickly and produces beautiful, soft light, while the full-size Bowens mount means I can expand my lighting setup as my needs grow. I also like the flexibility of powering it from the included power adapter or via USB-C PD, which opens up the possibility of using a compatible power bank when shooting on location. One thing to keep in mind is that if you want the light to deliver its maximum output while running from a USB-C PD power bank, you'll need a power bank capable of supplying at least 140W.
One of my favorite features is the Amaran app. Pairing it with my iPhone was quick, and being able to adjust brightness, color temperature, RGB colors, and lighting effects remotely is incredibly convenient. Whether I'm using it on a stand in my small home studio or grabbing it for handheld shooting outdoors, it adapts to whatever I'm working on. The Amaran Ray 60c feels like a piece of gear I won't outgrow anytime soon, and it's an investment that will continue to grow with me as I improve my content creation. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, versatile, and genuinely professional lighting solution.

Small but powerful RGB lighting...
This is great a m a r a n This is the ray 60C RGB this is a cob light and they give you everything in the package a bowing octagon with the grid. This is good for if you need to have colors a lot of people use colors in their photography That's what this is for like blue green you know yellow purple You know these are the and you can use the app I already have the app cuz I have the the regular cob with the lighting from a m a r a n I'm glad that both of them work with the app is so easy to work with You have to download the app.
And you have to update the firmware since the app is already programmed it works easy it downloads it installs it does everything for you these are like smart lights. This comes with a carrying case This is well put together and everything is in a carrying case they give you a nice caring for you with this and everything is included that you need and the power supply brick and that connects to the handle shown in my photos below.
Versatility and value for the money.
You have to double tap on the power supply button in the back so you go one two quick if it doesn't turn on whatever you using can turn it on You plug it into the outlet no problem.
Check out my photos and video with voice
Please note that the tripod use to put it on the stand does not come with the unit It does come with a handle that you can walk around with it and it does have a tripod mount on it. Get another mount for a tripod on top of the light as it has a second one to attach the did the bracket that comes with this while holding up the whole entire ray 60c .RGB

Compact, Bright, and Perfect for Travel
I’m really impressed with this light. It’s incredibly compact and easy to pack, yet it puts out an impressive amount of brightness for its size. The included softbox is a nice bonus, and the color accuracy looks great for both photos and video. I also like the flexibility of powering it with USB-C, which makes it perfect for shooting on location. It's an excellent choice for a small studio or anyone who needs a powerful travel-friendly light.

The most impressive compact professional light I've used
I’ve used a lot of lights in my studio, but nothing has impressed me the way the Amaran Ray 60c has. This bright, compact 60W light has performed well in every scenario I’ve thrown at it, from lighting my subjects for a podcast to coloring a background in any color without gels, or bouncing light off the wall / ceiling to reduce shadows for product photos. It excels at everything.
The color accuracy is great, and having full RGB control means I can set the mood without carrying gels or extra adapters. The USB‑C power flexibility is a huge bonus, too, because I can run it off a power bank or even the optional Amaran battery grip when I’m out in the field. I ended up purchasing the battery grip to use with the light because it turns the 60c into a single handheld lighting system without cords, thanks to the quick‑release Ace E‑Lock system.
The Ray 60c is super compact at 4.5” x 6”, and it barely takes up any space, so I can slide it into my backpack right next to my camera. Because of that, I’ve been carrying it everywhere, and it’s helped me capture shots I never would’ve been able to get without this lighting setup.
The included Octa Dome 30 was a nice bonus, although getting it set up was a little frustrating since there weren’t any clear instructions. I eventually figured out that I just had to pull one handle and lock it in place to open it, but the amount of force required made me think I’d break it. Now that I understand how it works, I’m no longer concerned about damaging it and can open it in a few seconds. It’s super compact and provides nice soft, diffused light.
The Amaran app allows me to control the 60c along with my other Amaran lights from a single place. It’s one of the best parts of the Amaran ecosystem because the app gives me complete control of multiple lights from my phone, tablet, or computer, so I don’t have to walk around adjusting brightness, color temperature, or power on each light individually.
I’d highly recommend the Amaran Ray 60c to photographers, videographers, and creators who need a compact, professional, color‑accurate, travel‑friendly lighting setup. It’s the light I use the most now because it delivers professional results and is small enough to take everywhere. I love it.

Very nice light!
This softbox light is really impressive. It packs a surprising amount of power and versatility into such a compact size, and it does a great job lighting up a space for photography, video, or content creation.
One of my favorite features is its flexibility. It can be used handheld when you need to move around, but it also mounts easily to a tripod for more traditional setups. On top of that, there are so many lighting options and effects to choose from. You can customize colors, brightness, and lighting styles, and it even includes fun special effects like flashing police car lights.
Whether you need a simple light for point-and-shoot video or something capable of handling more complex creative projects, this light can do it all. The versatility is genuinely impressive. This is my second light from this brand, and I continue to be very impressed with the quality, features, and overall performance. If you're looking for a reliable, all-in-one lighting solution, this is an excellent choice.

High power that brings creativity to a very compact form
Excellent RGB LED light. When testing this Amaran light, I was impressed by the high power it offers in such a compact, lightweight, and very thin body. It's a very portable light, perfect for working outdoors. Despite its size, it delivers 60W of power with a performance that surprised me. It integrates an OmniColor engine that allows me to have total color control; its range goes from warm light at 2,300K to cool light at 10,000K, giving me the freedom to create atmospheres as needed. The color reproduction is accurate and stable, without flickering. It has IP54 protection, which allows me to use it outdoors without worrying about dust or splashes. I love that it's USB-C powered, which makes it easy to use with high-power portable batteries during mobile sessions. It's compatible with a Bowens mount and includes an Octa Dome 30 softbox. This light allows me to control it via the app or NFC, which lets me adjust effects and colors intuitively from my mobile phone.

Compact and Quiet RGB COB LED with Full Bowens Mount
The power button requires a very quick double‑press, which threw me off at first because I thought the unit was defective. It supports multiple power options, but the USB‑C and DC ports are packed tightly together, and the umbrella holder can block thicker cable connectors. At full brightness it draws 75W, and the Bowens mount area gets very hot, so let it cool or use gloves before removing modifiers.
The light is surprisingly lightweight and compact, with an interesting diffused COB design. Cooling is practically silent at low brightness, and while the fan becomes audible above 50%, it stays quiet enough for video work. The RGB engine offers a wide 2300K–10,000K range, which is great for matching ambient lighting.
Build quality is mostly plastic, but it doesn’t feel cheap. The surface can be slippery, and the ACE mount can be tricky to attach or remove. The plastic around the magnetic mount scuffs easily. The included grip handle is actually metal, which was unexpected, but the light can bump into the plate that holds the AC adapter when tilted too far, especially with larger softboxes. The included 30cm softbox is useful for small product shots, though it’s stiff to open at first.
Overall, the output and quiet cooling are impressive for such a small light. A soft case is included; it’s compact but requires attaching the small softbox for everything to fit. It’s not the best case, but it’s still nice that one is provided.

Absolutely excellent, high quality 60W RGB COB light for photos and videos
This is a fantastic, high quality RGB 60W light for photos and videos. What makes it stand out is the brightness, quality, compact (but extensive) accessories, and the versatility.
The light has versatile mounting with 3/8 screw mount with a 1/4-20 insert as well as a bracket for mounting to a “baby pin.” Could be used with almost any tripod, or light stand.
Another feature that sets it apart is the wide color range and adjustments, which is great for customizing the lighting as a key light or accent light. It has a full RGB range that can be dialed in as desired using RGB or HSI controls. This is one of the best features. There are also a great variety of effects such as firework, strobe, etc.
There are only three buttons for the controls, a turn dial, ok, and back menu. Therefore, it takes a little bit to adjust the light. However, the light connects to the Amaran app which is excellent.
Another advantage of the app is other Amaran lights can connect to it so the multiple lights connected to the app can all be controlled in one place. This is a strong feature.
The handle/mount clips on smoothly with a single push button supported by a magnet mount. The power block that comes with the light straps on securely. A portable USB C power bank also attaches well, or the aftermarket Amaran power bank can use the quick connect mount. The DC power cord makes for a secure attachment. The carrying case it comes with is durable and stores the light compactly.
The mini soft box that is included is nice. It pulls open and snaps in place. It does take a little effort to pull into place. The connection to the light clips in as expected. The diffuser is effective at making the light softer and diffused so it looks more natural. The included grid modifier is also great at making the light directional.
Overall, this is an excellent, bright, full color light kit due to the powerful 60W, the accurate colors, app integration, included accessories, and overall quality.

Extremely well made, easy to use
This light is extremely well made and easy to use. The light is compact and small in size, which makes it really convenient to move around and set up. It's lightweight and fits easily into the included case. The case is well made and I think it protects the light well during transport. Although this light is compact, it is definitely bright and surpassed my expectations in that regard. The digital display works well and you can quickly change the color and brightness settings. I appreciate how easy this is to setup and use. The controls are straightforward and I think it's very beginner friendly. I like that it pairs with the app and can be controlled with my phone as well. This is convenient when you're filming and don't want to get up and switch your settings. The included softbox is also well made and easy to install. It helps to diffuse the light and gives that cinematic look to your videos. Overall I think this is an extremely well made light and a good value. I'm really glad I added this to my setup.

Impressive as a hair light or kicker. Not exactly the strongest for a main light. Great app.
A wonderful complete kit. Love the small softbox that comes with this. It might seem small, but up close to a subject it's beautifully soft. Build quality of the light is good, and it's a nice convenient small size. The holder is a little bit obnoxiously big, but it's designed to hold the ac adapter in it, which is convenient. The light is light enough to use a basic screw in mount, which is nice since the top of the light has a 3/8ths receiver on it. Nice convenient mounting option.
60w isn't exactly the most powerful thing, and with a softbox on the intensity drops even more. It is strong enough to be a main light if shooting higher iso with wider fstops. It's a really great hair light or kicker though, which is where the RGB aspect of this light is really great. Without the softbox, it's a pretty good video light for things like wedding dancefloor shooting. It's possible to power it via USB-C, and at only 60w it's easy to get full power on this.
App control is really convenient and easy. Probably one of the better app solutions for lighting I've used. Awesome for a streamer setup.
Price wise is a little steep, but I've really loved what Amaran has done with their Ray and Halo system for home/streamer studio use. After using a few of these lights and building an ecosystem with it, been really happy with the results from it. Makes the price worth considering.

Great Compact Setup
This is a brilliant little setup. Everything about it is really well-made and genuinely has a premium feel to it. The light itself is surprisingly compact. When I was taking the un-opened soft box out of the box, I didn't realize the light was already attached to it - that's how small it is. It's amazing that this much power is coming from something so small. Set-up time was super quick. Another thing that really impressed me is It also comes with a very robust handle that's super stable. The handle mounts with a modern action camera-style magnetic clasp that works great, but there's also has a standard 1/4" mount on the top of the light for mounting it that way as well. This makes it incredibly versatile. Overall, this is an amazing value for the money. Highly recommended.

Bastante robusta y buen rendimiento
Una luz con bastantes mejoras a diferencia de la antigua 300C, es pesada , robusta y de buen rendimiento, el case es un poco grande para mi gusto, podria ser mas compacto, se agradece que ya no se use cargador AC.
