Great Camera. Good quality.
...and good for selfies!
Jk. This camera was installed so i can keep an eye on my 5 year old son. At first he liked it, but he soon discovered he cant get away with "pretending to sleep".
Happy dad, not happy son.

Amazing hands down
This Amcrest 8mp 4K POE camera I received is incredible. The picture / video quality is absolutely amazing. The primary stream in full highest resolution is incredibly wide and the clarity is crystal clear. and is such a good picture that I was running it to a local NVR at10 fps, and it was still amazing playback. The frames per second in a downward mode was to concern the storage file size. That said, the camera natively does H265, H264B (+), and H264. The nice ability to this is it gives you flexibility if you are working on your own NVR that may not support H265.
I did play with it to see how it would play if going to an older NVR. I used an older hybrid DVR and then reduced the camera to 1920x1080 vs 3840x2160. This did lead to a very small amount of warping on the edge of the screen that was not very noticeable. However, the picture quality was very much still there and crystal clear.
The user interface on this camera's http access is very refined and to be honest quite a breath of fresh air given so many others out there with mixtures of bugs. My only real complaint of this camera is the lock screw to tighten it down when setting the angle. You have to get it really tight to absorb all movement. Also, at night with IR active the IR does not cover the entire scene as its throw is like any other camera. It floods the direct field of view, and the outer reaches are not. The camera does not always need the IR depending on your location. It shows very nicely in low lux with the IR disabled.
I would VERY HIGHLY recommend this camera to anyone. To further state used it with multiple NVRs and DVRs (hybrid) in onvif mode and was very pleased with its integration.

Nice Quality, Easy Setup
This POE camera is perfect for my application. I currently just have it in a window, as shown, but will soon mount it outside. The included template will make that easy. It's so easy to plug it into ethernet (connected to a poe splitter), and load up the app. The app itself is relatively easy to navigate, though some features don't work, as the app is used for more complex cameras also. I will likely use this with an NVR, or a docker container NVR, as opposed to the camera subscription through the app. Either way, that is beyond my review scope. All in all I am impressed with this camera, and to me it seems brand new, with no hint of refurbishment. Recommended.

Great pro-sumer grade camera
Amcrest makes some great cameras and this one is no exception. Bought it as renewed but it looks brand new, great job on the refurbishing side. Image quality is great as with all Amcrest cameras I've used. Perfect for in home or in a business installation. Night vision could be better but it's acceptable. Power over Ethernet is not as convenient for installing but once it's installed you don't have to worry about batteries dying. To me the extra effort is well worth it. 💯 Percent highly recommended !

Wide angle, easy install, needs to be mounted under an eave, etc. for best results.
We have a few of this model camera and am replacing older Amcrest cameras with these in a few spots (we have 16 cameras and are expanding to 24.) Crime is on the rise in the area, so we want to be as prepared as possible. If you look at the photo (including the total mess of a pond we are removing), the previous camera covered the shed and maybe 10 feet on either side. This camera? Wow. We have it attached to an NVR via a POE connection. It's a pretty low-power draw camera and it actually replaced an analog camera from our original 6 year old system we were still using. The low light is incredible, but we needed to so some tweaking. Part of the yard is illuminated, part is not. The illuminated part was totally blown out - you can see it in one of the photos. We're still toying with the settings for the best results and may just turn off night mode.
Install was really easy - Amcrest has it down to a science. Scan a QR code and you have instant access in their app. It's also detected in their NVR shortly after it powers up. I have the phone on hand when aiming it - makes life easy.
As for mounting, well it has the typical turret-cam limitations. The camera can be rotated and twisted up and down in the housing. So if you were to mount it on a wall, it would have to point straight out and you can aim it up and down - but not left and right. It's so wide angle that the housing would cut off part of the image. If you mount it under a soffit or eave, then you have more aiming possibilities.
Power is via POE or a power supply, but POE is the way to go. I've posted photos of a couple of my installs.

Refurbished product from a major provider that looks like new
As noted in the product page, this is a refurbished unit sold at a relatively small discount from a new device. While the discount is not that large ($20 or about 20% off), the unit I received is indistinguishable from a new device. The packaging was perfect and complete. The product shows no signs of ever being out of the box previously and came with the latest firmware installed.
This particular camera (Amcrest IP8M-T2599EW) has a 3840 (H) ×2160 (V) sensor and offers H.264/ H.265 video codecs. Cameras with this high resolution usually don't have the best night time performance and this camera is no exception. Nonetheless the camera meets my daytime and nighttime needs without the IR light enabled. The Dahua or Loryta IPC-T5442TM-AS-LED performs better at night but you will also pay 2x the price.

4K Security at an Affordable Price
Here's my personal experience with this refurbished outdoor security camera:
Pros:
Impressive Quality: 4K resolution is just fantastic. The night vision works up to 98ft, which is really good.
Easy to Set Up: I appreciate the Power Over Ethernet (POE) feature, though you need to have a POE Injector or Switch separately.
Smart Features: Motion alert notifications and footage review on my smartphone are incredibly helpful.
Weatherproof: Regardless of the weather condition, it works just fine.
Cons:
Microphone: It only supports one-way audio, a two-way would have been better.
Extra Accessories: I had to buy additional items like a POE Injector or Switch, and a MicroSD Card for storage.

Great camera
This Amcrest camera is simple to install and setup. The maneuverability of the turret is excellent. It glides and tracks so smoothly. This picture quality is bright and clear and the night vision works well, too. This is a really good quality security camera.
