Ignore the age recommendation. My 9 mo old GD is captivated. The illustrations are beautiful. If you’re consciously replacing media’s brainwashing /programming/brain rotting agenda, this book will be a staple & treasure. It doesn’t matter how much my granddaughter understands right now - repetition works. 🥰🤞🏻💪🏼🌞

Great book! Quick read for kids 4 to 8.
Bonus points: This book has the cover art on the actual hard cover so if you lose the paper cover it still looks great.

Empowering from a young age!!
Love the story this book tells! The perfect gift for a little girls nursery or a special little girl in your life. The story encourages little ones to be unique, be confident, be kind, be accepting to others, be brave, and it Also encourages them to use their imagination, journal, explore. We have read this to our daughter who is now for hundreds of times since she was born and she’s got an older she really has taken to what each page truly means. Illustrations are beautiful and fun, it’s easy to read and for young ones to understand, overall it’s a favorite pic of ours!

Simply Beautiful
Every little girl in your life needs this book. It’s a compilation of messages that are empowering and comforting. The illustrations are simple yet beautiful. My mother-in-law first gave this to my daughter for her first birthday with a little message in the back. I loved it so much I had to share! I have gifted many other copies to friends and family for birthdays and it is my favorite go to gift for baby showers. Their are also other versions such as Dear Boy that are just as cute.

One of our favorites
I purchased this book after someone bought Dear Boy for my son and Dear Girl did not disappoint. We love both of the books! My kids love to sit down and “read” together my son is 3 and my daughter is 2. The only small complaint that I have is that they show the girl dancing on a chair during dinner on the sometimes you have to just stop and dance page.

I knew what it was and still bought it. Read on.
If you are familiar with Amy Krause Rosenthal's Uni the Unicorn book series, this is a change of pace. My daughter loves the artwork and stories in Uni the Unicorn. When she received this book for her birthday, she liked that the girl in the book looked like her but soon got confused with the content in the book. It was rather a laundry list of attributes and beliefs which isnt bad entirely (builds vocabulary). I can see why and what this book was trying to do, it is pretty much like how we try to push STEM to girls to let them know they can do anything, and everything including those traditionally viewed for boys/men. My daughter basically asked me what the books was trying to tell her and after some explanation, she asked me, "im doing all of these, right?"
There is also another book called "Dear boy". I am all for encouraging a world of blurred boundaries but it also confuses me that a book was created for girls and boys which borders on gender stereotyping in itself. I recognise the positive intent by the author to bridge the existing gaps for the girls and then the other gaps for the boys, both found wanting in our current society. Knowing this, why did i still buy another copy as a gift? I told my husband, this is like a coffee table book if my 7 yr old had her own place. It isnt great but isnt bad. It is perfect as a gift for someone whose child is in the same daycare but you dont know where their views lie (i actually knew someone who wasnt pleased that people assumed all girls liked unicorns, sure). It is also in my view, a book that sends the best wishes you want for any little girl. Also, Amy is a best selling children book author and her books are also always illustrated by fellow women illustrators. If you want to support women in the literary world, this is a good one to start with.

Perfect book for your daughter or your granddaughter
I bought this for my six-year-old granddaughter and I was hoping it would be a book that would capture her spirit. I love the page that says write down your thoughts once in a while even if it’s just to enjoy the way your pen feels against paper. She loves writing stories. She loves being both a ballerina and super woman.

It was ok
The new mom didn’t say anything about the book. So I don’t know if she liked it. I bought this based on the reviews.

Perpetuates stereotypes
I dislike any book for girls that tells girls they have to choose between being pretty /a princess and playing outside/being active. My daughter is always out playing in the mud in her princess dresses, you can be both at the same time. I'm returning the book for that reason. The rest of the book is just okay, nothing special.

PERFECT for any girl!
I stumbled across this book while Christmas shopping and fell in love. The message is so beautiful and powerful, inspiring, motivational, and encouraging. As a mother of two girls, I placed it in my cart immediately because words of affirmation like the ones in this book are something I want my girls seeing and hearing and reading as often as possible! This book will be perfect for her! If I could give it 10 stars, I would. It’s beautiful! I did include a video in my review reading through the book so that you can see what the inside message is like. I hope that is helpful!

Must read for any age girl.
Beautiful book that I happened to stumble upon. I will be gifting this book to all my 4 daughters on their 10th birthday along with a letter inside. Very relatable, and encouraging book that I hope my child takes to heart and treasures forever.

Love the actual content of the book
Love the actual content of the book. Every little girl should read this to boost their confidence and help them know it’s okay to be different or be adventurous! However, a little disappointed in quality, as one of my pages, the print is almost not readable. I would’ve given 5 stars had it printed properly, as I really love the story!

Perfect Content but Imperfect Printing
This book is amazing. I bought it for my Daughter as I look forward to reading it to her. I’m a little disappointed that the quality wasn’t perfect. I’ll be keeping the book, because I don’t want to let it go. I just wanted you to know!
