No support, red cast, no software direction
Just awful experience top to bottom. The camera is terrible. It's incredibly red under any condition. I've tried light rooms, dark rooms. the light ring off and on, using default camera settings, adjusting the camera settings ... nothing works. And when I compensate for the redness, the other colors are completely out of range. I'm on a MacBook and the main AngeTube software is more for the recording of a video. But you can also download the app and it's very limited in its control. But what I find most difficult to handle is the lack of support. The website offers minimal insight, the chat doesn't work at all, there is no phone # and they will not respond to message inquiries on their site. Look, I'm the first one to admit I might need assistance to modify the settings or better understand the product nuances, but that's not possible when you cannot connect with them.

I tried 22 webcams under $100ish & this is the one. Info inside on how to pair the remote!!
Yep, I tried 22 webcams, all under $100ish, and this is the one I kept.
At this point, the only other camera I would consider trying is the Lumina 4k, but it's 3x the price of this Angetube one. For my current needs, and probably for more people, the upgrade is not necessary.
Anyway, about this one! The 2k HDR gives a great image (pic attached). It's also got a ring light built-in, with different temperatures and stepless dimming. That's pretty cool, though I don't personally use it because of my overall lighting setup.
The default angle can be a bit wide -- i.e. you will be fairly small but a lot of your background will show. But then I remembered there was a remote with pan and zoom (and other functions)!
The remote didn't work for me at first, even after replacing batteries. I emailed customer service, and they actually responded right away with instructions on how to pair it, which I've attached here as a pic! You just hold two buttons at the same time for a few seconds. I didn't see any pop-up on the screen saw a little indicator light on the camera flash, but I did notice a tiny red light flash on the camera once it was paired. I tested the remote, and voila! I was able to pan, zoom, adjust lighting, etc. You can really do some good tweaking with this.
I'm also including screenshots of the remote guide - i.e. what the buttons do (it's buried at the bottom of the listing), as well as a pic that I took with the camera.
Previously I was "generally pleased" but now that I have the remote working, I'm really happy!
