Defective 4K Camera and Terrible Support

Beware! After using the security 4k camera for two months, it broke down, and this company refuses to replace it according to its warranty policy.

Good quality

The quality is very good. I mounted it on a tree, and the solar panel keeps the battery at 100% with about 2 hours of sunlight. Very reliable so far

Love solar!

Great security camera with clear 4K video and impressive color night vision. The solar panel keeps it charged, so no worrying about batteries, and the no monthly fees is a big plus. Setup was quick and the app is easy, the instruction on the box is very helpful. Overall a reliable and convenient outdoor camera!

Great camera

I’ve been really impressed with this Anona Aurora 4K solar security camera. Setup was super easy, took about 10 minutes, and the solar panel keeps it charged perfectly even in LA weather. The 4K video is sharp both day and night, with great color night vision, and the AI detection actually works well without constant false alerts. No monthly fees, built-in storage, and reliable 24/7 recording make it feel like a premium camera without the hassle. Highly recommend if you want a solid wireless outdoor camera that just works!

Unusable electronic paperweight

This camera worked for about 8 months. Now it won't connect to my home Wi-Fi. Tried uninstalling it but it won't unbind to re-install. Contacted the Anona customer service and technical support and they could not help me.

After several emails, I finally gave up on getting any meaningful support from Anona.

I usually don't write reviews but after they sent a survey on "how they were doing" regarding customer service, did I decide this was appropriate. It only seems as though, the only thing ANY of the companies care about is how THEY did. I am in the market for a system to add additional cameras, but I will not be purchasing any other equipment from here.

Great features

This outdoor security camera has clear video, wide field of view, and the color night vision is surprisingly good even in low light.

I love that it runs on solar power, so I don’t have to worry about charging it often!

The 8GB built-in storage and AI object detection work really well.

Very satisfied with the performance so far!

Good quality image and video security camera

The Anona Lucio 2.5K Security Camera is a fantastic addition to my home security system. The 2.5K resolution provides crystal-clear video quality, day or night. The wide 138° field of view ensures that I have a comprehensive view of my property. The battery life is impressive, and the solar panel option further extends its longevity that I will add so it always stayed charged. The two-way audio feature allows me to communicate with visitors or deter intruders, and the motion detection and person detection alerts keep me informed of any activity around my home. The easy-to-use app allows me to monitor my property remotely and receive instant notifications. I'm very satisfied with the performance and reliability of this security camera. I wish there is an option for continuous loop recording and external storage, but overall a good battery powered security camera with no monthly subscription.

Sleek wireless outdoor Security Camera

Product:

Anona Lucio 2.5K Security Camera

Pros:

Very nice App, easy to follow instructions, settings are also easy to find.

Surprisingly heavy due to a battery pack that provides it with roughly 260 days of operation before charging. Optional solar panel is available.

Camera is very sharp and clear.

Camera software is AI enhanced for identifying objects like people, cars and currently in beta pets.

All mounting hardware is included.

No cloud/hub required, there is about 8gb of eMMC storage of which the camera's software uses part of it.

Cons:

Another mini-manual, but fortunately you only need it to either scan the QRcode or search on the App store to download and install.

This camera is heavy, so you need to make sure your mounting area is strong enough to support the weight.

Has what it calls full color night vision, which is actually using two LED flood lights to provide enough light for the sensor. Obviously, this will shorten your battery life.

Unable to replace batteries when they wear out.

Overall:

I do like this camera, despite the weight and the color night vision. The unit feels like it will be a durable unit. The battery pack, while heavy, also gives it a long duration running. Add the solar panel, you most likely will be able to leave it in place for its lifetime.

So far, the AI seems to do ok. I did test this indoors at the time. It quickly detected my movements but ignored the people moving on the TV. It also ignored lights coming on or off, which some security cameras can react to.

The app is very nice and is one of the reasons I rated this a 5. The quality of the app can break or make any device, and this app is easy to use, things are laid out in logical groupings. No 7-layer drill down to just to turn on/off a setting.

My one and only minor negative is the storage. eMMC memory is relatively cheap, so 16 to 32gb should be the default. Although the pricing of this unit is much lower than equivalent units, so perhaps the 8gb is reasonable compromise to making it feature rich.

Perfect for a pet button board camera!

4.5 stars, almost perfect! I wanted to have a camera to capture my dog’s conversations with me using his talking buttons. This works amazingly. The app has a setting where you can turn on and off what you want it to capture, so I set it so it only captures for pets and will not capture for humans. It actually works! This is in a hallway so I didn’t want notifications every time we walk by it, only when Brunswick uses his buttons. I have captured some amazing footage and memories. It’s so nice to review clips in the app and delete things you don’t want and download clips you do want. The picture quality is really good. Looks good enough to put on social media. I have the camera flipped sideways so it ends up taking a “portrait-mode” view that I can use for social media. Overall this system has worked perfectly for what I needed. I will say that sometimes the camera misses the first second or two when he enters the frame and I sometimes miss recording the button he presses because of it. Not a huge deal but annoying when it misses a moment you really wanted to capture. The app is also kind of laggy and takes a while to load videos and sometimes has errors where it won’t load. The playback quality in the app is sometimes poor and I can’t hear everything, but if I download the clip then the sound is great. If those things could be fixed it would be a phenomenal product, but it’s already pretty great.

Great for multiple locations, no subscription needed.

We have the name brand door bell for our front door, but wanted one for our backyard without a subscription.

I decided to try this security a camera to see how well it works. This camera is more versatile than I expected. The camera is built solidly with the battery built in (non removeable/replaceable). It is cube like in construction so it can even stand on its own. It comes with a mount to mount the camera in a more permanent spot. I'm still trying to find a location for the mount out back, but I have been pleasantly surprised how well it also works as a moveable/portable security camera. I've been trying this in all different locations, including inside our home/garage.

Once the mount is in place where you want it, you screw the camera onto the "permanent" mount to fix it in place. The way this is designed makes it east to remove the camera from the "permanent" mount if you want to use it elsewhere, and to recharge (the back panel slides off the housing easily) . This design make it very versatile but also a possible theft target.

The camera itself is great quality, it actually has better video than our older door bell camera. The app for this camera is very intuitive, especially if you are familiar with name brand the door bell app, they work similarly. There are too many features to name them all, but this camera is extremely customizable for recording times, recording quality (which effects amount of memory used), areas, notifications, etc...

I've only used this for a couple weeks, and have a couple hundred 10 second videos recorded (can set up to 2 minutes each but uses much more memory/battery) , and have used less than One GB of the 8GB capacity and the battery is still at 77%.

One thing I noticed is it does not work so well sensing movement through windows, but I believe that's the way this was designed, more of a heat sensing vs movement sensing design. When I set the detection type setting option to "other motion" it does work better. With no glass/window between the camera, it works as well at sensing as our doorbell.

I can see using this as a portable security camera to take with on trips (set up pointed at front door of hotel room when you're not there), campgrounds (with WI-FI) or other locations as long as there is WI-FI access to link up to.

The only concern right now is the actual battery life when outdoors in extreme cold weather. I have not tested this yet, but since the camera is easily removed from the mount for recharging, it shouldn't be that big of a concern. I do see that Anona offers a solar rechargeable panel accessory, but I personally don't see a need for one for my use at this time, but it is a option.

This is a fun security camera with many possibilities, longevity is the unknown at this point.

Love the programmable features!

We ordered this camera to mount outside our front door, but for now, it's needed more inside our house to monitor our pets. We ordered the camera without the solar panel, so this one gets charged using a USB A to C cord. It's been working for 4 days without need of a recharge yet. The set up of the physical part of the camera is simple. It took more effort to get it to connect to our wi-fi, but after we reset it, we finally got it working. Now for the good part! The app allows us to program the hours we want the camera to detect motion and what kind of motion to detect. Since we want to see pet behavior, we've set it to only record when pets are moving in the room - and it does just that! The night vision recordings are clear and allow us to easily see which pet is moving around. Other detection settings include people and vehicles. Video, audio, storage, and more can be adjusted, and the camera will link to Alexa or Google. There's a light that can be turned on through the app as well. While there are many more features that are included, suffice it to say that we're very happy with the quality and features of this camera and its app - so much so that we're discussing keeping this as an indoor camera and ordering the one with the solar panel for outside the front door.
