Great cabinet lighting

Works great and love that you can change the color shade. We replaced an old pendant light above our sink with this

Important Installation Tip

ALERT! Don't destroy the sleeve that the unit arrives in. This sleeve is exactly the same dimensions as the fixture, and includes a punch out template to locate the mounting holes. (See photo) KEEP THE BOX INTACT. The parts bag include two small pieces of double stick foam to attach the empty box to the bottom of the cabinet while you mark. The instructions make it sound like you're going to secure the actual unit with the tape. That's an error.

One cool trick I used was to cut windows on the opposite side of the box to stick the pencil in. Worked great.

Also: The mysterious plastic semi-circles are spring clips to help organize the wires in the unit.

>> Update: One surface of the package is fully perforated so you can remove it and use it as a template locating your holes. I still like my "keep the box intact" approach, but the option to have a flat piece of cardboard with the holes punched out is a very thoughtful touch by the manufacturer<<

The cover snaps firmly into place. You need a flat screwdriver to pry up on one side to remove the cover.

Working upside down in the tight space between my counter and underside of the cabinet requires some flexibility and a good helper. Any reasonably capable DIY'er will manage, but you do need to connect wires, drill holes, and possibly work upside down. It's a professional high quality fixture and worth the effort.

See photo of the template hole that is part of the package sleeve.

Does the work

It’s small but does the work. It’s only 12in so the lights only covers that small area on the counter. Recommend to get two if your counter is bigger than 12in or just chose the longer light.

The best undercounter lighting solution!

Easy installation. We have a glass tile backsplash and wanted a high quality under counter solution for 12 kitchen cabinets with an additional side bar. The product came ready to install and are easily daisy chained from one cabinet to another with a simple connection to a compatible dimmer switch we purchased at our local hardware store. The 5 way switch allows us to choose between a yellow to a very bight white that’s really brings out the color of the teal. We can dim them for a great nighttime lighting or crank them up when cooking. Only one wish, the company does not offer less than 12” we had two 12” cabinets at the bar and needed 8”. Still, thrilled with the outcome and would highly recommend.

Perfect 48" light for under cabinets or anywhere really. One issue

Great bright light with adjustable kelvin temp switch so you can adjust color hue from bright to a more mellow yellow similar to regular old incandescent light bulbs. The one issue is after adjusting the color when I went back to make it a little whiter and the slide switch that was protruding slightly was gone, fell into the unit. I do see a small crack in the end plate maybe it took a shot? Was going to buy 3 more to do the whole kitchen but now not sure.

Nice

Very pretty under my new cabinets. I like how you can adjust the lighting. I prefer the white lighting. I just wish they made it easier to hide the cables.

1: CRI (color rendering), 2nd: Color temp, 3rd: Lumens all seemed off and below spec's shown in Ad.

I received a used Ansen (36" version) light instead of new, it was missing parts and someone cut short the wires (it's being sent back). But this is not what my rating and review is for. I've custom built numerous LED lighting fixtures, Three things I'm particular about in lighting is 1: CRI (color rendering), 2nd: Color temp, 3rd: Lumens. These three things is what gives you quality lighting.

The lamp that arrived was not useable to be mounted permanently due to being already used, wire cut and missing parts; but before I was retuning it I was able to wire it up on the bench and test to see if it worked.

I was excited because I needed a under cabinet fixture in a rush, and this company listed the CRI at 92 and above, it also had color temp adjustment, and the lumens shown in spec's were high (bright). But, none of these three met expectations, nor do I think they were close to what the company spec's shown in the ad.

Also, it runs hot. When I had enough, unplugging it to pack up, I was surprised how hot it was, and this was resting on a table, in a open space for about 15 mins, not mounted under a cabinet for hours but it was still hand holdable; and it was not that bright for the 36" size, more like 700-750 lumens, about half of what they said it was in the ad.

The CRI very much did not seem accurate, the previous old school fluorescent even had better color rendering, the color temps were off too, the lower warm temps were more orange tint color, not natural looking; only the max setting of 5K looked okay.

That's about it. This light seems cheap and low cost. It's probably okay if you're not going to use it in an important place (kitchen), and in a cool spot, and you don't need bright light.

I hope this review was helpful, I wish I could have been more positive about this one but I'm moving on.

Would recommend - a manageable DIY project

I bought six of these to replace the older ones that were already under our cabinets and making everything in our cabinets hot. They were simple to install, but not easy. We have very heavy gauge old wiring so it was hard to bend it all and fit it into this fixture. If you have that problem just consider that. I bought five 18 inch ones and one 36 inch one. You definitely need a second pair of hands for the 36 inch installation. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m pretty happy with the results. These are not hot like our old fixtures. In the photo, the one on the left is set to the coolest light temperature and the one on the right is the warmest. We prefer the warmest but the cool is a bit brighter. Overall, they were a good deal and can be done by the homeowner.

Great Lights

These under-cabinet lights were a pleasure to install from start to finish. They arrived well-packaged, and the internal wiring layout is refreshingly simple. Everything you need is included — wire nuts, a proper grommet to secure incoming wire, and even a small screwdriver for popping off the cover and accessing whichever knockout you prefer.

Snapping the rear plastic cover back on is slightly snug, but once you arrange the wire nuts neatly inside the generous cavity, it closes up just fine.

The light output is adjustable from a warm 2700K to a crisp 5000K, and the fixture has a straightforward on/off switch. If you leave that switch on and control power from a wall switch, it functions perfectly.

Overall, this was an exceptionally well-designed product and genuinely enjoyable to install. Highly recommended.

Light seems OK (after one day) - Installation is a bit of a problem

I installed two of these under-cabinet LED bar lights (yesterday and today) – the 36-inch version. In their early life, they seem to work fine with the color temperature selection functioning as promised (they’re not on a dimmer so I cannot comment on the 5% to 100% dimming claim).

In general, installing a light under a cabinet is difficult. The manufacturer of this product didn’t help much.

While the instructions were in clear, grammatically correct English (sorry but you know that is not always the case with imported products), my installation experience suggests that no one provided feedback on the “accessories” (the installation items) or the installation steps.

First: the Romex strain relief (called the “Cable Management Accessory” in the installation pamphlet). Between being unnecessarily huge and having machine screws for its clamp that are too long (they should be sized for 14 AWG Romex), the strain relief interferes with compact installation. The photo shows the machine screws hitting the underside of the cabinet before engaging the clamp.

Since the hole into the light frame is small, substituting a plastic, push-to-fit strain relief is not practical for the purchaser. The manufacturer needs to supply a more compact approach.

The installation instructions suggest using adhesive pads (in the “accessories” bag) to hold the light in place during installation. Maybe that works with the 12-inch model but no chance for the 36-inch version. I ended up measuring the location of the mounting holes (30 1/16 inches apart, about 1 ¼ inches from the back of the fixture, horizontally centered) to drill the pilot holes for mounting.

The mounting screws provided were self-tapping sheet metal screws (!!) – a non-starter for wood cabinets. Plan on providing your own ½ inch #6 or #8 wood screws – pan head would be the best choice.

The channel inside the fixture for the wires is quite small – the fixture is compact. The task of pushing the wires into the fixture before closing the “front cover” can be simplified by using some vinyl electrical tape to hold the wires together.

A little more work to install than I expected but it's done now and (I hope) will function for a couple of decades.

Definitely purchase

We bought 4 of these in a couple of different sizes. They are awesome. They were very easy to wire & put up and look great. They have different light settings (from warm white to day light and in-between) and they are very easy to switch the light settings. The one negative I have is we thought we were getting ones that had a dimmer switch on them. As it turns out, we didn't read the fine print and that option you had to buy separately. So we just put a dimmer switch on the light switch going to the lights themselves. Doing that turned out to be a much better option because we can adjust the light/ dim-ness all at the same time. Would definitely recommend and buy again if in need. Pictures are on the dim setting and then bright setting.

Light is Dim

I was going to use the light over the sink in my rental. The light is either way too dim, or defective.

Replacement lighting

Our son put them in for us and they look great. We already had under counter lights, so wiring was already in.

Very great light source

This light is very bright, easy to install, although they don’t make provisions for bringing wire straight in the back of the light, I drilled my own hole and have the tools but for someone that may not have drill & stepper bits it may be an issue. I have not noticed any heat from the light & you can pick different brightness. It functions perfectly on a light switch, just leave rocker switch in the on position. 4 stars because of drilling my own hole

Well designed light

Our multi-purpose kitchen closet needed a new light. This easy to install, well built unit provides the light we need in a good looking, lightweight housing. The ability to change the color of the light to match that of the recessed lights in our kitchen makes it ideal for a closet that houses coats and jackets as well as a variety of cleaning supplies.

Looks and works great!

We needed to replace our under-the-counter light, so this would be a good solution at its price point. The light came packaged well and had easy-to-read instructions. It was challenging to insert in the location we needed it to be, but that had more to do with the configuration of our previous light.

It is bright and provides a nice glow of light without being too bright. We are very happy with this light and our order. It showed up quite quickly!

Lights up my kitchen

I had a broken kitchen light in my house, so I picked this light and decided to give it a try. It's made of aluminum and plastic and feels sturdy and durable, and has a simple and elegant look that perfectly matches my kitchen. 12 inches is just the right size and the light is bright and not blinding. Moreover, it has 3 color temperatures to choose from, so I can adjust it to suit different needs, such as a cozy soft white at night and a bright daylight color during the day. After installing it in the kitchen, my vision becomes much clearer when I am cooking, and my mood is much better. It is easy to install all by myself in a minute. Overall, this light performs well in terms of quality, appearance, and light, and I am satisfied with it.

Reasonable quality under cabinet LED light.

Overall, this LED light isn't bad. It is very basic, but the quality is at least reasonable and better than that of several I have purchased before elsewhere. Wire installation is simple and all the necessary parts are provided for a basic install.

One of the minor criticisms I have are that the included wire nuts are a bit loose when used with 14/2 ROMEX, which is what is often used on lighting circuits (they seemed adequately snug with 12/2 however). The nuts did tighten down on 14/2, but I wasn't totally comfortable with how they felt. That said, for my permanent installation, I used some inline splices anyway, as I connected it to a 3-prong appliance cord rather than ROMEX (as the old flickering fluorescent light that this will be replacing under a bench cabinet in my garage is set up to use a switched outlet).

Another minor complaint is that the screws included with the 1/2" ROMEX strain relief connector are so long that they protrude beyond the edges of the light regardless of how you mount it. This means about the only way to properly mount the strain relief has the screws sticking out toward the face of the light, which makes them very easy to scrape with your hand when you reach to turn the light on and off. I ended up just snipping the ends off the screws, but they should really just include some that are just a bit shorter to where you can mount the strain relief facing the other direction.

My last criticism is safety related and involved the screw hole slots on the back, specifically that there isn't a shield between them and the wires inside the unit. Although the wires are insulated, having the wire nuts where they can make contact with the heads of the screws doesn't thrill me. Most older designs I have seen put a small secondary plate over the area where the wires are joined together.

All that being said, the light is attractive, does put off a nice amount of light, and I like that the color temperature is adjustable just by changing the switch on the end. The price is also in line with that of others I have priced elsewhere in the same length. So, overall, I'm fairly pleased with this light, though I do wish they listed the actual lumens rating somewhere on it just for comparison purposes.

looks nice

I’m planning to install a new light for the display cabinet I just bought, and I think it’s pretty good. It allows me to adjust the light's color temperature between warm and cool tones, so I can change it depending on which items I’m displaying. Once the cabinet is set up, I’ll update my review (if I remember). For now, I’ve checked everything and haven’t found any issues.

So far, so good

I like the light color can be adjusted. It’s sleek enough.

Points taken off because it’s linkable but they don’t include hardware for extra cables. Have ti run romex through metal hole that tears sheathing… not up to code. Also, the area for putting wires is rather tight but I made it work
