This is the real thing ,ditched the satellite dish, and over the top fees,& replaced it with this antenna ,has an amplifier so I can run 3 TVs . Get about 147 channels ,most not worth watching though . But get the local channels .add a couple streaming services & and u will be done 🤗. Also want to preface this I’m about 60 mile south of all networks in Los Angeles area

70 miles from Orlando on Central Florida East Coast and this thing rocks!
I put this antenna up and am getting 63 channels B4 I delete the 10 religious, 5 Spanish, 3 Shopping channels. Gets all major networks and some surprising stations that have shows I thought you could only get on cable like How it's Made, Mega Builders/Disasters/Engineering, or Investigative Discovery type shows. Sent my 3 cable boxes back to Spectrum and am saving $80 month! They only thing I miss after cutting the Cable cord is the DVR capability to skip commercials. Their are OTA DVR's that I'm investigating....
Update 6 years later and this antenna still rocks! Came home from vacation & had no TV channels. Thought antenna died but nope antenna good, their amp good, it was my powered distribution block that failed. I have this antenna feeding 4 TV's throughout the house so distribution block is also an amp and it died. Replaced with Antennas Direct distro and now my OTA scan shows 100 channels B4 I delete the garbage channels. Put same antenna on my mom's house 3 years ago and it rocks there too! Cut the cord on Cable & save money!

Dump the dish... this is the REAL DEAL!
I am located in Ocean County NJ approximately 45 miles away from the NYC TV towers. I am pulling all the major network stations (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC) at around 71-72% signal strength. My previous antenna (Antop UFO 414) was delivering 58-59%, but had trouble with receiving certain channels. This antenna is better at picking up VHF signals. All I have is Netflix and this antenna. Saving $100+ per month on cable/satellite TV.
Disclaimers: My antenna is mounted to the chimney of my house. I estimate it is 35 ft high. The higher the better. I also run a splitter/amp.

excellent antenna
I wanted to cut the cable cord due to increasing expense. frankly I was just watching local programming and streaming movies on Netflix. but I had NO knowledge about antennae issues, types, price etc. after due diligence online to answer my questions, I selected this unit. I had read that high definition reception would be better with an antenna, but I was skeptical. guess what! reception IS better quality with this antennae, and I get twice as many channels now. this is an omnidirectional antenna, and the coverage is very good, excepting for a 30 degree spread behind the antennae, costing me the loss of one channel that I previously received. I am 40 miles from the farthest local station's antenna, and to receive all my current channels I actually did NOT need to install the supplied amplifier. the antenna is mounted high, on the side of my two story home, and I have clear line of sight to the stations' antennaes , almost 360 degrees. the antennae is above any trees, neighbors home etc. I am connected to 3 televisions, and the farthest is 60 feet from the antenna. please note that my home is wired with RG-59 cable, not the thicker, better shielded and better conducting RG-6 coax, and the reception is just excellent, even at that farthest television!! I was concerned that I would have to use an in line amplifier for that tv set, but that was just not necessary! my other concern was signal reception during stormy weather. we have had some significant thunder/lightening/wind storms since my install, and reception has NOT been affected whatsoever, whereas my neighbor's satellite has had reception issues during these same weather challenges. I also installed the unit myself, the installation being very straightforward. the manufacturers installation directions were clear and simple. IMHO, the install should not be an issue for any homeowner with basic handyman skills. I did run the cable in flexible conduit, as that side of my home receives significant Texas sun. this would probably be unnecessary if running the cable in a less exposed location, say under roofing eaves, shaded location etc. I also took specific care to ground the antennae, checking with online info for the safest, most effective methods: I would highly recommend doing so! so my final judgment is that this is a powerful antennae, pulling in excellent reception for my location and purposes. after the initial investment, I have already saved dollars, just two months after cutting the cable from our local provider. I would highly recommend this antennae!!

Very Disappointed !!
Well tried this one because of all the good reviews, but very disappointed . The first one I bought was a $35 antenna and stuck it on a 2x4 16ft in the air and it work good, I got a bout 30 ch and some of the ch would break up but over all it was pretty good, so I thought if I got a better one it would not break up, I bought the Antop 400 BV and put it on a 45ft tower in the air as you can see in the pictures. I lost 1/2 my channels and it still breaks up. I would have been ok with loosing the channels if I had no picture break up, I did a lot of research before I did this to make sure it would work using my zip code of 31525 so this should have cover it with ease . The best thing about the antenna is it is a great looking antenna.
If Antop reads this review and has a better suggestion I,m ready to try something else. Thank you

Great Antenna
I purchased the AT-400BV antenna on 2/5/19 and received it the next day. I installed it in the attic and strapped it to a vertical stud. Since I live less than 20 miles from the local TV transmitters it was not necessary to use the amplifier. If you do use the amplifier remember to use a splitter with a power pass. It's a nice clean looking unit and easy to install.
