It stopped working in 4 months. I contacted the company, and they emailed me, but my car has been sitting for the past two weeks. Finally, they escalated the issue, and right away, a new one was sent to me the next day for delivery. I have to say that the service was super exceptional and followed up with me constantly

Solid product. I really like the RFID card feature. The app gives me plenty of control. And to my pleasant surprise, the customer service is superb. They are really responsive and helpful. Love it !

This is the third EV charger I have used, and I’d say it’s good for the price, but it’s nothing fancy. This charger comes in at a good price for what it’s capable of, but the app for this is terrible. The build quality seems to be nice, and the charger plug is heavy and durable. Dropping it a couple of times just put a scratch or two in it, but that’s about it.
Pros:
30 ft cord: I have this installed on the back wall of my garage, and it fully reaches outside if needed.
Compact: The unit isn’t bulky and doesn’t take up much space.
Input Cord included: Unlike some others, you need to provide the power cord from the breaker to the charger.
RFID Key Card: If desired, you can set this up in case your charger is installed outside to lock out anyone trying to get a free charge.
Cons:
The charger makes a quiet electrical squealing sound when not charging. This is normal for some electronics. I’m assuming it is coming from its internal power supply for the low-voltage electronics. Not a big deal but kind of annoying.
The APP: They really need to do better here. This charger uses the Smart Life app. I happened to have this app for some WiFi bulbs I use around the house. It was easy to set up the charger in the app, but that’s where the one nice thing ends. The energy management within the app is useless. I charged my car twice (total about 20 kWh) in the attached picture, and throughout the night, it randomly logged 10 kWh chunks throughout the night. This led to the app saying I used 150 kWh in the course of 2 days, which was not possible. You also cannot set the cost of energy or set time-of-use rates if you have different pricing for different times of the day.
Within the app, you can set charge times, current settings, and lockout.
The app is what kills this product quality here. They used a cheap cookie-cutter app that was not specifically designed for their charger. If you just need a basic charger for a good price and don’t need all the fancy that comes with an app, then I would say this is a good buy, but if you want to use the app to see your energy use, it can’t be trusted. Hopefully, they will do better and build their own app for their own product.

I installed this charger in my garage to replace an older unit, and the setup was straightforward. The hardwiring kit and instructions were clear, and once connected to the 240V line, it powered on immediately. The NACS adapter lets me charge my Tesla without needing extra accessories, and the J1772 connector works with other EVs, which is handy when friends or family come to visit.
Pairing the charger with the app over Wi-Fi was quick, and Bluetooth fills in when the signal is weak. The build feels sturdy, with a weather-resistant enclosure and a heavy-duty cable that coils neatly onto the integrated holder. The 2.4-inch display is great for checking charging speed, session time, and energy use at a glance. The charger locks securely with the included anti-theft hardware, which gives peace of mind since mine is installed in a semi-open carport. The RFID cards are also convenient for starting and stopping sessions without using the phone, and I can configure them so that only authorized users can charge.
Performance has been stable and fast. The 48-amp output charges noticeably quicker than my last unit, and the cable length easily reaches either car parked in the bay. It stays cool during long sessions, and I haven’t experienced any dropped connections or overheating.
It’s a bit more expensive than other chargers, but for the price, it’s a quality, all-in-one home charging solution that supports both Tesla and J1772 vehicles, looks clean on the wall, and offers the control and monitoring options I was missing in my previous charger.

This is an absolute upgrade! I upgraded it from the Tesla charger to this MACH 1 48 Amp charger, and it was a great choice! This will charge all electric vehicles and comes with an adapter for my Tesla.
I absolutely love the LED display. I added a picture of the EV charging box I have, which has a glass slit on the front that lets me see inside without opening it. The LED display is great because it lets me see what is going on with the charger, even with the door closed on my EV charging box. This is even better at night as it illuminates very brightly.
The 48-amp charging capability is awesome because it lets your car charge much faster. I always charge my car to 80% because that's what Tesla recommends (unless I’m going on a road trip), and what used to take 4-5 hours to charge from 30% to 80%, now takes about an hour and a half.
This charger still connects normally with my electric company's settings, so it turns on and off during off-peak charging hours. You can also control the charging sessions on your phone with the app, and in my case, through my Tesla app.
It has a 30-foot charging cable, which is great because there are times when I don't want to park my car directly next to the charger, and there are times when I have people over to my house with electric vehicles, and now they can charge their car if they need to in my driveway.
It comes with two RFID cards that let you lock and unlock the charger whenever you want, so you can control who uses it. This is great if you have your charger outside, in an area where people may want to try to use it, if you do not have it locked away. The mobile app is great, and you can also control it through your Tesla app under charging. It also has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections to give you even more control.
I had someone install the charger, and it took them less than 20 minutes. He said installation was super easy.
I literally have ZERO cons to talk about. This Mach 1, Level 2 EV Charger is AWESOME and I wish I could give it a 10-star rating! I would highly recommend this charger if you are looking to add one to your home.

Couldn't be more happy with this level 2 Electric Vehicle charger. It has more convenient features than other chargers that are significantly more expensive. For starters, the cable that feeds it hardwired is 3ft long, most EV chargers come with a smaller feeding cable, and the cable that goes from the unit to the car, is 30ft long, whereas most others are only 25ft at most, and one would say well, it's just 5 more feet of cable, those 5ft do make a difference. I hardwired this charger myself to my panel, I used a 60amp breaker and 12ft of MC 6/2 AWG cable. If you're not comfortable working with electricity, do not even try to install this yourself. Instead, pay a professional to do the job for you, but look around, because it is a job that shouldn't cost more than a few hundred bucks. Do get a wall cable holder, because this charger only comes with a wall attachment for the charging port only. As soon as I flipped the 60amp breaker to on, the charger powered on and the Smartlife app which I already had installed on my phone detected it instantly, and a few seconds later, the app told me that there was a firmware update available for this charger, so I clicked on install, and it took like 5 minutes to install. When it was done, the charger rebooted and it was all good to go. It even comes with a tip adapter for the Tesla plug.

So far, I have only bench-tested this charger. I will install it later as it needs a dedicated 240V circuit with a 50A breaker and it needs an electrician to install one, and it takes time.
The charger is of the "Designed in the US made in China" type, like most upper-tier electronics. It is very well built, and because it is access controlled, it can be installed outside. You will still need an enclosure for outside installation.
The charging cable is very long , thick and heavy, which is expected, as it is a high-amperage L2 charger. I do not have a Tesla vehicle, but this charger comes equipped with NACS adapter for Teslas. The plug inserts and fits securely.
I really like the information display. It is a bit small, but it displays clean essential information and do not have pointless animations.
Apex also makes MACH2 charger that has the same parameters, but it is flatter and more attractive. But it looks more suitable for inside installations. This MACH1 seems to be perfect for an outside set up.
The charger uses Smart Life app to monitor its activity and energy consumption. The app is very easy to set up and it finds the charger instantly.

This is a great charger. It works really well. The only problem is the cord hanger is way too small.
great customer service .
also i set it to 48 amps and it charges at 12kw

I'm a little shocked how well the thing works to be honest.
I love the interface, I love that it works with the SmartLife app.
If I had a complaint it would be that they should take some of that 30 ft cable that they put on the connection to the car that you will rarely use and instead put about 6 ft on the inbound side. I personally will rarely use 30 ft of cable but I had to buy $100 worth of cable just to connect it to direct connect it

I reviewed many before I bought this one which has small number of reviews. It has 30F cable, in my case 25F won't do. Most of the chargers come with 20-25F cable. This is made by a US company. I installed 60 amp dedicated circuit to allow the device to charge at 48amp. The LCD is important it shows 48 amp all the time and charges at the rate of 11 KWH. I have two electric cars and have owned it for over two month and it works flawlessly. One complaint is the plastic cable holder is small and not suitable for such a thick and long cable that doesn't fit in it. I disposed it in trash and bought two 4.5" wide jaw metal hooks to hold the cable, see pictures. I installed two of them in an angle side by side and they hold the cable well and it stays inside. Previously I used the 240V dryer outlet that used to charge at the rate of 24amp and make a lot of buzzing sound at night waking us up, probably the line spec is too old and might not be suitable for such a heavy load. With this device I don't hear any buzzing noise anymore at twice the rate.

I had some trouble with slower charge rates after 9 months / 4500 kwhr @ 40A. The J1772 handle was getting hot causing the car to throttle charging. The crimps on the J1772 pins seemed robust. The pins and receptacle were clean. I think the spring tension on the charge pins were just getting loose. I bought a hydraulic crimper and a new J1772 handle to repair the unit. The charge handle is now reliably cool. Customer service gave a partial refund under warranty to compensate.
Now at 15 months /7500 kwhr @ 40A the 14-15P plug receptacle was getting very hot. It began tripping the 50A breaker even though only run the unit at the 40A setting recommended for this setup. I've attached images of the insulation completely melted off of one power leg and burnt insulation on the other that I found inside the plug. That tiny crimp of only about 1/4 inch wide on the power legs is totally insufficient. The connection was failing from repeated heat cycling because it is an insufficient connection for 40A of current in the first place. The heat from this bad connection caused my receptacle to loose spring tension and caused some arcing on the breaker connection to the buss bar. Now I'm into this for a new breaker, new receptacle and new replacement 14-50P plug. With proper connections to a $12 replacement plug the whole circuit is completely cool with no warmth or heat at all.
I do like the unit. It is one of the only units I can find with a physical button for current selection that does not require phones and bluetooth. It is also unique with a 30 ft cord that is long enough to reach from my garage out into the driveway.
Since customer service is responsive and stood behind the first problem I'll add a star to two. But enough is enough. - Bad review. I don't know what suppliers the manufacturer is using for the cords but if they could upgrade to ebay quality J1772 pins and a $12 plug the unit would be fine. It would also be a major improvement if the cord ends were serviceable. Apex, if you can't crimp your connections properly at least make it easier to get in there to fix it!

I bought a hybrid jeep wrangler. We went about 3 weeks with the regular wall plug charger. Read a ton of reviews and decided on this. As others say, the long charger cable is great. Based on where this is in the garage, i have strung the cable above the Jeep because the charger is on the opposite side from the wall unit. Very happy with this purchase.
From a performance standpoint, no complaints. Works and chargers very fast. I have it connected to a 50amp circuit and used the app to set the unit to 40amps.

Love this charger! The length of the cord was a huge plus for me. Having the ability to charge at home is a big win! I had a small issue with the app and an error message that was showing up on the display. The customer service team worked tirelessly to resolve the issue and was able to send out an update that resolved the problem. I can’t say enough about how useful the customer service team was. They didn’t hesitate to send me a new charger when they couldn’t figure out what the issue was initially and once we finally narrowed it down, the update fix the bug and it’s been smooth sailing since. Excellent charger for the price. The plug and play function is awesome and so easy to use. High recommend for anyone looking for an at home Level 2 charger.

Overall a great EV Charging setup:
1. Fully adjustable charging amp rates. We took this unit with us to the Brother-in-laws. He has a 30amp outlet for his welder I’m his garage. We used an adapter cable and dialed the amps back to 24 to keep the required 80% max draw on the breaker. Worked flawlessly for two 10 plus hour charge sessions. The app lets you adjust the rate from 0-48 amps and everywhere in between.
2. Slightly more expensive than some of its competitors but worth every penny! 30ft charge cable allows us to easily charge vehicles parked in the driveway from the installation point near the breaker box. Tesla adapter included is well built and works perfectly with our 2025 Ionic 5. We even charged outside in the pouring rain for 10 hours without issue.
3. Customer Service is beyond Excellent! They get back to you quickly and even send messages unprompted to make sure all your questions and concerns are taken care of in a timely manner. Feel confident buying this unit you will be 100% satisfied or they will bend over backwards to make things right!
4. Current smartphone app works well. They are in the process of building a stand alone app for their equipment which is exciting and shows continued confidence in this platform.
5. Remember to set the Amps to 40 max for the NEMA 1450 wall outlet setup (simple button push on the panel)! The 48 amp setting is for direct wire configuration with a 60amp breaker. They mention this on stickers and instructions, however, every YouTube review I’ve seen is sending the full 48amps through the plug and 50amp breaker. It will probably work but safety is key!
If you are in the market for an EV charge station make sure this unit is on your list. I guarantee you will not find a better deal, all things considered. I did a couple of weeks of research before choosing this one.
Make sure to check with your Utility provider. I was able to get a 50% of cost rebate with the purchase of this unit. It meets the smart-charging requirements of our provider. There is a 30% federal tax rebate available as well, but that may not last…

Updating. Lowered to 3 stars
Been a year. It’s inconsistent on how much power it delivers. Apex customer service was trying hard. But I tried it on a 2nd vehicle. It’s definitely not my truck.
I’ll get 11 kw then it drops to 9.4 to 7.3 then back up to 10. Just all over the map.
It does charge my truck. It just takes longer.
Not worth buying a new one at this point.
The Ford charger I have at the beach hits 11.2 and never budges.
There are better options out there.

enjoying this purchase so far after 3 months. the extra length makes it a near perfect fit for the garage without having to run more cable. support is quick to respond and very helpful. the build quality is high.

Absolutely amazing customer service. I rarely take the time to leave reviews. This was installed and for whatever reason it didn’t seem to be connecting to Wi-Fi, I called the company late at night because it said it had 24/7 customer service. Maybe 9pm PST. I got a voicemail box, didn’t leave a message because I looked down at my phone and saw it had connected to Wi-Fi. The next morning they called me back. Said they saw a missed call from me while they were helping another customer, looked up my time zone by the area code, worried it was too late to call and then called me the next morning to see if I needed any help or support with my charger. By then we were plugged in and good to go.

Highly recommended, sleek design, very intuitive and simple, and the length of the cord is just perfect, the price is just the cherry on the top. Perfect build quality, charges at the right speed every time.

I have been using this charger for a few weeks and like it. The cable is a decent length for charging inside or outside the garage. The screen indicates output along with time the car has been charging for. I like it.

Just installed and so far, so good! Seems to be working perfectly. Happy with my purchase!CH I Level 2 EV Charger! Installation was a breeze.

My husband bought a BMW X5 and we charge our BMW with this charging station at home. Works great. Our first charging port broke a year and a half after we bought it and we got a hold of Apex and they’ve been very helpful with the re-order of a new Apex charger port. I highly recommend ordering Apex because their customer service is above and beyond what is called for.

This charger was super easy to install. The cord length was perfect for my needs and seems to be a great purchase. It worked great with my 2023 Mach-E. My car can handle up to 48 amps, but if you are using a 240V wall plug with a 50-amp breaker, make sure to set the charging current to 40 amps. The manufacturer's customer support is very helpful when you reach out to them. They even follow up with you after the issue is resolved to ensure everything is still working correctly.
Susan Daugherty
This charger was easy to install and cut the charge time down on my Mazda from 10 hours with the 110 charger to 3 hours with the Mach I. I only have a 20 amp outlet available, so it may charge faster on a 50 amp. My outlet is tucked away in a corner of my garage which makes it difficult to swipe the RFID card. I reached out to customer support, and they responded quickly with a way to make it plug and play. I don’t have a 14-50 outlet, so I purchased an adapter which made the install easy. On the downside, I wasn’t able to connect to the app, so the only controls to the device are the two buttons. It would be nice to have more control of the charger without needing an app. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase.

First off, I really appreciate how nicely everything is boxed. It even comes with full-size tools to install the wall mount. These days, it seems like so many products are just thrown in a box carelessly, but this product is obviously carefully configured.
I'm impressed with how fast this charger works. It's a lot faster than my old wallbox. It also comes at a fraction of the price and seems just as good, if not better built.
Willie Micene
Easy to install. Hardwire option included. All the parts included for mounting. Customer support crew answered all my questions quickly and clearly. A great option if you are experiencing voltage issues. Completely adjustable ampere setting for matching your EV compatibility. Even has a Tesla adapter. Great charger!
MichelleK
Very durable 30 charger cord. It feels made to last. The screen is easy to read. I like that the port has a dust cover to protect it from the elements. Comes with all the tools needed! For the price and quality I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Yan L.
Switching from my Tesla charger to this ApexCharger was a great improvement. I immediately noticed the difference in the cable thickness, more than twice in diameter (see picture) which suggests a more robust, safe, and durable design. The installation process was straightforward, thanks to my existing NEMA outlet. The capability to charge up to 48 amps, compared to the Tesla charger's 32 amps, means I can now charge my vehicles much faster. The 30ft cable is particularly convenient, allowing me to easily reach both my Tesla and Leaf, regardless of how they're parked, without the hassle of moving them around.
Initially, figuring out how to start charging with the app and fob key was a bit tricky, but it became simple once I got used to it. While I continue to use the Tesla app for managing my Tesla's charging, the ApexCharger app is ideal for scheduling charges for my Leaf, especially when targeting an 80% charge limit. Overall, a great buy and great price compared to similar products in the market!
Pamela
This Apex Charger is significantly faster than the standard charger from the dealership at half the cost. In addition it looks like it fits both Tesla cars and most other EV's on the market as it comes with an handy adapter. Lastly, I think it looks cool in the garage with its modern elegant design.
