Aprilsmart Motorized Blackout Roller Shades Smart Window Blinds

Outstanding product and customer service.

The Aprilsmart motorized blind is perfect! I needed a window covering for a second story foyer window that is positioned above a ledge. The window can't be accessed without a ladder, so the shade needed to be motorized and able to be operated by a remote. This shade fit the bill! I bought the white color. It is stylish and blends in completely with my window trim when it is open. You can't really tell that there is a shade there when it is open. It offers complete privacy and light control when closed. The shade is woven and looks very elegant. It has lasted months on a single charge. The remote was easy to program. You can set it so that the shade will stop at the same place automatically each time. You can also use the pause button on the remote to stop it wherever you want it to be. Super easy to install with clear instructions provided.

I did have an issue with the first shade I received. It just stopped working after 2 months. Dead. I tried all of the troubleshooting steps and it still wouldn't work. He ordered a new shade immediately and sent me the tracking information. I received the new shade, charged it and installed it. So far, so good. The seller even followed up with me about a month later to make sure the shade arrived and was working. I received exemplary customer service!

Well made and easy to install

I waited a few months to review, just to make sure everything was good, which it is, and I highly recommend this product! My office window is behind a bench that was difficult to reach over with a regular pull-down blind. The installation was very easy with clear instructions. It works great, fits perfectly in the window opening, and is very unobtrusive when retracted. It's used every day and the mechanism works well and is very smooth up and down. It still hangs just as straight as when it was installed. I've never had it need a charge, but I do it every couple months just to stay on top of it. The magnetic USB-C charger is very clever and I can even get a couple inches away and it grabs it. I don't use the apps or voice control (the remote is fine for me), so I can't speak to how those work, but I like this blind so much that I'm ordering one for the bedroom so I can see what the morning weather is like before I even get up.

Good quality Power Blinds.

These were easy to order, and they were delivered quickly for a customized build. Install was pretty easy if you have minor drill and tool knowledge. They quickly connected to the Hub, as well as quickly got set to the multi-blind remote. Once connected to the Hub , they transferred right over to also run in Alexa. We have had them for 2 months, and there are still at 90% battery, so it looks to likely be will over 6 months between charges. The material is also very good quality and thick to the touch. We had a small problem with one of the 4 blinds and Customer Support responded immediately, dealing promptly with the issue. You should have NO worries about ordering these blinds.

Perfect fitment and fast shipment

I was very impressed with how fast these blinds were delivered. The customization of the size and specifications were very easy and straightforward. The products are made and delivered in less than two weeks and the installation was perfect. These have worked wonderfully in my house. Great Alternative Motorized Blind

My wife and I were looking for alternatives for automatic blinds to get a custom shaped window in our living. We get a big glare that comes in through the living room window when we are trying to watch television in the middle of the day, so we opted for a blackout blind that we could move down easily as the window is located very high up on the wall. We placed an order with April Smart, with the custom dimensions and some other features like the side light covers, and it has been wonderful. We also opted to get the solar charger to put up on the window so we don’t have to worry about taking the battery pack out and charging it regularly, it just charges on its own. Even with getting all of the bells and whistles with the automated blind, it was still less expensive than going through one of the major blind installation companies here in the US.

I would recommend this product to anybody looking for an alternative for automatic blinds. The texture on the blind material Tyson nicely with the white and black that we have in our living room, and it makes the room look a lot cleaner than standard Venetian blinds.

Lake House install

Good quality product, better quality company.

The product fit well and was exactly as described. They were easy to install and seem to be good quality. However, on top of all that, I’m really impressed with this company. There was a one day shipping delay where a package was listed as delivered but was not. The company responded to my email within hours (on Xmas day no less) and had answers with tracking numbers but still promised to make it right if there was an error. Then I screwed up and didn’t order the right motor, the company agreed to ship me a hub that will make it all work for no charge. I am planning on doing the rest of the blinds in my house and will certainly use this company for the remaining blinds. Thank you guys.

Nice purchase!

These blinds have been a life saver for me. I live in the Southwest with lots of sun and I needed something for my high windows. These have been really nice-great color and work well. The only thing I’d say is even though it tells you to measure exact, I’d suggest changing measurements 1/4 in smaller. I have one blind that is a touch too large and can scrape on the side of my window when going down

Amazing Shades!

I was a little optimistic when first purchasing these shades as they were cheaper than most, but as soon as I got and installed them, my doubts went away. Aprilsmart designed my shades perfect to my dimensions and it works perfectly with my Google Home app. I’m extremely satisfied with these blinds, and I’m glad I went with them.

Breaking often, battery doesn't stay charged

6 month update: we're quite frustrated with these blinds. The battery life is horrible despite getting solar panels for them. They simply don't work even with direct sunlight. I'm having to charge them every other week. They also reprogram often (i.e. they stop and end at random points). This happens multiple times a week. We purchased so many and are seeing these issues with all of them. Very disappointed since we paid so much, now we are learning we should've splurged on the local professionals. The ends are also misaligned and fraying in the sides. Customer service stopped responding to us.

We've had these installed in half of our house for about a month so far. Installation to the windows were super easy, they are custom fit and look amazing. Getting the remote to align with the windows was very challenging. Some windows didn't want to cooperate. Customer service was so proactive though, they reached out to ensure they will take care of any issues and help resolve anything that was giving us problems. We now have them installed in the rest of the house and are very happy with them. We get a ton of compliments on them and their value is well worth the purchase.

Couldn't be happier

These motorized blinds are unbelievably easy to install and nice looking. They are stylish and fit really well. The support from the seller was unexpectedly fast and very useful. They answered all our questions very clearly and promptly. The product arrived exactly as described and in perfect working condition. I will definitely consider them again for other window projects i have around the house in the future. I highly recommend them.

Great solution for hard to reach places

Ordered this custom blind in the color safari white on September 7th and received it on September 16th. It took approximately 2-3 hours to charge it up and 10 minutes to hang it. The color is a beautiful neutral that pairs well with my bathroom. I have to sit on the edge of my tub and swing my legs over to get in so this was a perfect solution for a quick open and close without climbing in the tub each time. The remote has a quick response time allowing you to stop the blind at any height you chose. There is a tiny pinhole on the blind as you can see in the photo. This was not a dealbreaker for me, but could be for some.

Very nice sample pack of all color offerings

I am very happy that I get to see all the color offerings which makes it easy for me to choose the color I want when I am ready to get motorized blinds. (Safari White 03 looks great!) You can also see from the samples that these will be true blackout blinds as they have a solid plastic/vinal backing

Fits well and meets my requirements

I am satisfied with this blind, perfectly fit my window. It took about 1 hr including the time to connect to phone, not easy but straightforward following the user menu. The shade is now perfectly automated with my morning and evening routine to open exactly when needed to exactly the right height , then close at sunset. I can also easily use my voice, remote, or app to control at any time. These are a must for smart homes. I will buy more for my other windows.
