Excellent Indoor Camera with Great Local Storage Options

I've been very impressed with the Aqara G350. One of my favorite features is the 360° pan and tilt capability. It lets me quickly look around the room to check on our dog or see what the kids are doing without needing multiple cameras. The movement is smooth, and the image quality is excellent, making it easy to see details throughout the room.

Another feature I really appreciate is the microSD card support. Unlike another indoor camera I own that relies on limited built-in storage and a paid cloud subscription, this one accepts microSD cards up to 512GB. That gives me the ability to store weeks of video locally without worrying about running out of space or paying monthly fees.

The dual-lens design produces a sharp, detailed picture, and the AI tracking does a good job following movement automatically. The camera also integrates well with my smart home setup, and the app makes it easy to review recordings and adjust settings.

If I had to point out a minor downside, it's that some of the advanced features and automation options take a little time to learn if you're new to the Aqara ecosystem. Once everything is configured, though, it works very well.

Overall, this is an outstanding indoor security camera. The combination of 360° coverage, excellent video quality, smart tracking, and generous local storage makes it a great value. Being able to keep weeks of recordings on a large microSD card without relying on a subscription is a huge advantage for me.

Do not buy

The camera has serious manufacturing defects; it works for 2 minutes, then resets itself, then starts working again, and so on in a loop. Useless.

Aesthetic 4K Monitoring for the Doggy Door

I really love the look of this camera; it’s cute and it is clear that the design was genuinely thought through. It has a clean feel that doesn't look like a piece of industrial equipment on my shelf. Getting it up and running was straightforward with no issues charging or connecting it to my device, and I found the app to be very user friendly.

The video quality is impressively crisp, and the rotating feature is a great touch for keeping an eye on the whole room. Even the night vision holds up well, giving a clear view after dark.

I’m mostly used to the Ring system, so there are a few brand-specific quirks I’m still adjusting to, but nothing that has been a dealbreaker. My only real wish is that this was rated for the outdoors, because I’d love to have this same quality on my patio.

Right now, I have it positioned specifically to monitor the doggy door. It has been perfect for checking in on my pets as they head in and out of the yard while we are away.

Overall, this is a solid choice if you want a camera that looks good in your home while providing high-quality 4K footage.

Great little camera/hub.

This camera hub is a great way for you to get into home automation without spending a lot of money. This gets you into the Aqara ecosystem as well as allowing you to connect to HomeKit and Home Assistant. Matter works well if you have routers in place. Motion detection is precise and adjustable. Good overall value.

Great camera in the Aqara app but it's limited in HomeKit

This Aqara camera has replaced one of my Ring cameras for monitoring the inside of my house. I primarily used this to keep an eye on my dog while it was recovering from surgery. The ability to pan and tilt the camera from within in the Aqara app made it very useful for finding my pup when she was finally mobile enough to move out of the very wide view of this camera. Picture quality and sound quality is fantastic and the ability to record to a SD card and view within the Aqara app is great. I'm a Homekit user so I added the camera to Homekit and there you are greeted with a very limited set of capabilities and installation can be a little confusing since you have to use the Aqara app to bind the camera into the Home app as the barcode will only bind the camera's Matter hub and not the camera itself. You can not pan, tilt or zoom the camera from the Home app and Homekit doesn't support most of this cameras advanced Matter abilities (yet). This is my third Aqara camera using in Homekit and they all play nice and have been stable but you will want to keep the Aqara app on your phone for more advanced features and playback of video when the Home app comes up short. Overall, I think this is a great camera for indoor monitoring and a great alternative to Ring cameras due to the local storage and lack of required subscription.

Very decent camera, just missing a few features

The picture quality on this little camera is genuinely impressive, even in low light. The silicone sock with the bunny ears is borderline weaponized cuteness. You can remove the ears if you hate fun, but everyone I have shown it to immediately fell in love with it.

It does support onboard recording, though the Micro SD slot is hidden in a place that is equal parts adorable and confusing. You have to put the camera into privacy mode which physically rolls the lenses up inside the housing. Painted eyes appear to make it look like it is sleeping. Then you insert the card where its nose would be. Cute, yes. Intuitive, absolutely not.

Image quality is solid both in wide shots and when zoomed in. The only annoyance is a brief bit of blur when zooming, and that gets worse if something is moving quickly in the frame. Not a deal breaker, just an occasional hiccup.

Connectivity wise, it supports RTSP for streaming to third party systems, but it does not support ONVIF. That means no clean integration into my UniFi Protect system which makes me a sad panda, especially because the G350 Doorbell supports ONVIF while costing less. At least, Home Assistant can still pull some basic functionality out of it.

Overall a very cute and very capable camera with one frustrating missing feature.

Pros:

Excellent picture quality

Surprisingly good low light performance

Adorable silicone bunny accessory

Clever privacy mode

Onboard SD recording support

Integrates decently with Home Assistant via RTSP

Security wise, it has gobs of AI Security features it can monitor

Cons:

No ONVIF support

SD slot placement is cute but confusing

Brief blur during zooming

Costs more than the G350 Doorbell despite having fewer integration options

Great camera with strong performance and loads of personality, just missing that one key feature that would have made it perfect.

DOA Unit

Th item was DOA. Unit would not power on at all.

I tried various 5V/2A and 5V/3A power adapters, different USB-C cables (including the cable included), multiple outlets, and tried both reset methods (holding power button for 10 seconds per app instruction and rapid pressing the power button 10 times per paper instructions). No luck.

As a longtime fan of Aqara, this was really disappointing. Was excited for this release, but was unable to get it powered on.

Also worth noting:

Arrived 3 days late (not their fault, but still frustrating)

No power adapter included (expected, but annoying at this price)

Damaged internal packaging

Overall, not a great first experience for newly release item.
