The device is advertised as being suitable for outdoor use; however, my experience did not align with that claim. After less than 45 days of outdoor deployment, the camera failed due to water intrusion. While the internal compartment containing the battery and memory card remained dry, the outer housing that contains the solar charging contacts retained a significant amount of water. This resulted in corrosion of the charging contacts, preventing the camera from charging and rendering the device inoperable. Buyers beware the durability of this product in outdoor environments is not as advertised.
Contacting Arlo support was an extremely frustrating experience. Their support system placed me in an endless loop requiring a case number to proceed, only to repeatedly report that the case number could not be located—leaving no way to move forward or obtain assistance.

Outstanding security and a battery that truly lasts!
The Arlo Pro XL Security Camera exceeded all my expectations. The 2K HDR video quality is outstanding, capturing every detail with impressive clarity, even at night. The long-lasting removable battery is a huge upgrade — it genuinely lasts much longer than previous models.
The AI Event Captions work flawlessly, identifying events clearly and accurately. Setup is easy, completely wireless, and the camera integrates seamlessly into my security system. The Secure Plan trial was also a great bonus for exploring all the premium features.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for real security, convenience, and advanced technology. An excellent product!

Total scam
I bought this in July 2024 when I paid $120. By July 2025 the video quality of the camera suddenly deteriorated. After talking to customer representative I was told that the warranty expired so I have to buy a replacement device out of my own pocket.
In May 2025 their app said that my credit card is no longer working (I've been using the same amex credit card for a long long time.) The fact is, they want to cancel my subscription, and then they want me to resubscribe to the same plan but at a higher monthly fee.
Stay away from this scam company.

Works Great with some caveots
Had some issues getting this to connect to the AT&T cellular network as I was in a remote location, had to bring it back closer to range and connect with a stronger signal, and then go back to the remote location. Now it is working great.

ARLO IS GARBAGE! DO NOT BUY!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:
They ruined it. I had the original ArloGo and it was great. I popped an SD card in and could remotely view all the events that triggered the cam. But, it had to be replaced from damage which meant I had to upgrade to the ArloGo2. The 2 no longer allows you to view the SD remotely. The made it less accessible for thd sole purpose of forcing us to subscribe to their stupid cloud. Well they can pound sand. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ARLO! THEY ARE GREEDY PIECES OF TRASH WHO CARE ONLY ABOUT RIPPING YOU OFF! I got mine through Verizon. ..!..
NOW THEY WONT EVEN GIVE ME SUPPORT!! I HAVE AN OPEN SUPPORT NUMBER AND WAS JUST TALKING W A LIVE AGENT AND HE HAD ME CHECK SOMETHING BUT WHEN I CAME BACK I COULD NO LONGER ACCESS MY CHAT AND WAS TOLD I AM NO LONGER ENTITLED TO LIVE SUPPORT!?! WTF IS WRONG WITH ARLO? WOW! DO NOT EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! THE WORST OF THE WORST! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ARLO PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE!! THEY HAVE TERRIBLE PFODUCTS AND EVEN MORE TERRIBLE SERVICE!! I AM DISGUSTED WITH THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY

Great LTE Camera: Does Work With AT&T
I bought this camera to put outside my vacant rental property during rehab. I took the camera to AT&T and got a sim card which they inserted for me. I also bought a separate SD card for storage. The SD card you have to format with the app before it starts storing. This camera has been great thus far at capturing activity outside my home. The battery lasts a long time. I like all the customization options and the free 90 day trial with ARLO. Since I recently started using the camera I will update the review if anything changes over time.
I suggest you go in store and ask for a SIM card for the camera. Bring the camera with you so they can see it and help you set it up. If they claim they don't offer it, go to another store!

No Power, No Internet, No Problem
I have been wanting to be able to keep an eye on my horses at home and when I travel. The Arlo Go 2 is the perfect solution. I have it set up with the solar panels at home and I can easily detach it and put it up at a show or just out camping with my horses

Aggravating but…
I almost returned this thing, but I needed something ASAP and didn’t have time to research another type. It is kinda frustrating to get set up if you’re using it for LTE. Verizon no longer does SIM cards in store and there’s not a T-Mobile near me. Luckily AT&T had my back and hooked me up with a sim and a plan in less than 10 minutes.
I could write about my frustrations with this thing all day long, but after setting it up I’m fairly happy with it.
Here’s the pros and cons.
PROS:
-LTE capability (obviously)
-Great video quality & features
-Convenient app that’s fairly easy to navigate
-Notifications that you can adjust
-The actual setup of the camera is fairly easy and quick ONCE you get a SIM card and get the thing charged up
CONS:
-A pain in the @$$ to get an LTE plan for it with a sim.
-Requires a SIM card, and a plan through a phone carrier. This would be better if offered directly through Arlo.
-DOES NOT COME WITH A CHARGING BLOCK and your regular charging block will NOT charge it. Good luck. I paid $50 for a block that would actually charge it, and it’s USB A which is becoming hard to find.
-It came to me on 0% so I had to go buy a block to charge it before I could even attempt to set it up
Overall, I kinda like the thing once I got a plan for it and got it set up. The picture is live on a rainy day in the horse pasture. I’m glad I can monitor my mare who is about to have a baby, and I’m happy I’ll have something to put in stalls at big shows now.

Perfect camera
I purchased this camera for my barn to observe my mare’s as they are approaching foaling. I don’t have WiFi in my barn and was able to get a SIM card from Verizon for the camera in a relatively quick manner. Camera and app are easy to install and use. Highly recommend!

This is horrible- stay away. Won’t connect wasted hours
Like I said above, this thing will really infuriate you. Could not connect to arlo, even though my Internet app said it recognized it. Some software problem or something terrible. I spent hours on the phone with Arlo not to mention me being text savvy and the hours spent on many devices or different guest networks. Wow.

Great
Works like any other arlo camera, just doesn’t need wifi. Using it to monitor a construction site. Nice to be notified when someone shows up and triggers the camera. Also great to be able to check live. Would also work as a trail cam if you want real time notifications. Easy to set up. Wanted it in a field, so we attached it to a flat board on a fence post. Also purchased a solar charger for it so we don’t have to worry about changing a battery.

Arlo Go 2 has More options / versatility than the first edition (Arlo Go)
I added some pics - to show the Support Plans through Arlo.
The Arlo Go 2 is the largest camera in the Arlo family.
In comparison to the first edition (Arlo Go) things I like are :
***** Better video quality (day and night)
** Can still be grainy quality at times (time of day, lighting, storms)
*** Option to Record until activity stops (up to 300 seconds). This is works 1/2 the time correctly. Motion must need to be relatively close within 20 ft to record activity). Otherwise I see it record in 15 second increments.
*** you can opt to still record for a determined length of time 10s to 120s.
Did I say video quality is BETTER? Yes, way better than the ARLO GO. Ha, the first edition looks real bad now!
You really have to pay for Support - in order to Get Support from Arlo.
I found out the hard way with my Arlo Go. Basically ARLO stopped supporting Arlo Go, once they came out with the Arlo Go 2. Expect that to happen, with any future newer releases from this company. Maybe if you just keep paying for the monthly support - they will keep the camera working for you.
I am still struggling to get any support for my Arlo Go. I am going to add their plan to that camera - and see if they will now 'talk to me' about the first edition, that has become less than reliable - especially if I need to change the battery, or move the camera.
OVERALL : I am pleased with the ARLO GO 2. It does not miss many motion detections in area of focus, verse other brands set up in the same area, that do fail to pick up motion.
