It's unsafe.

Well isn't that nice. I had the product for just over a month and a few days ago I was using it and it started making a crackling noise and of course I stopped using it. It seems I missed the return window by about a week.

Don't get this item! It's cheap and unsafe! I'm sorry I wasted the money.

Filthy , heat doesn’t work properly 30 days later…

I have had it about 30 days . The heat is not the same as when it was new and it’s filthy and it will not wash . Wild

Your questions and answers said it snapped apart and was washable . It is not .

Excellent customer service

As you may have seen in other reviews, I am also modifying my review of this product.

A customer service agent contacted me following my review. She actually seemed genuinely concerned and offered to replace the mask.

They sent a replacement quickly and I’ve been using it for a couple of days now. It’s an upgraded model with a battery pack and 5 heat settings as well as a timer.

It’s somewhat like the mask shown at the following URL (but as indicated, my replacement is a corded version - image included below):

I’m using it daily and so far, so good. Overall, I do think it’s helping my dry eye issues.

Based on my experience with their customer service, I would recommend trying Aroma Season heated eye mask products.

Original Review

I purchased this eye mask less than a year ago, and it worked well for the first 9–10 months. Recently, however, the right side of the mask has started getting extremely hot, while the left side barely heats up unless the device is set to its highest setting. At that setting, the right side—particularly near the cord connection—becomes dangerously hot and has burned my skin.

Because of this safety issue and the product’s lack of durability, I recommend considering other options. In my experience, this eye mask did not last even a year and is not reliable.

Love the shape and even heat. Hate the flimsy wiring.

UPDATE - After I wrote this review the company contacted me to offer a refund or a new device. I chose a new device so I would have an extra and received it within 2 days. Great customer service!

I love the shape compared to others because it sits down on my eyelids better without me having to use my hands and applies the heat pretty evenly.

The part I don't like is the cord going into and out of the control button. The outer sheath pulls out quickly leaving the inner wires subject to bending and breaking. I just bought my 3rd one in a little over a year because the wires eventually bend back and forth enough to break or show bare wire.

Great mask, lousy cover design

I purchased this mask because the cordless mask's battery would give me a bruise on my brow bone. I'm using it for Meibomian gland dysfunction, or dry eye. My eyes feel soothed after use.

Pros:

No bruising

Fits snugly even on a small head

Heats quickly

Very adjustable

Different time and temperature settings

No odor

Comfortable

No aroma (unscented)

Cons:

Poorly fitting mask cover

You have to readjust the mask cover because it spins around the mask, attaching with only a single snap.

Sometimes I get confused about which is the front or back because the cover spins during the night.

Stopped working after two years! Is the life of Aroma Season heated mask only two years?

Edit: seller sent a new one for free. Much appreciated! Product works well.

I used it for two years, was great! but then it does not heat up. When I plug it in the control turns on but the eye pads do not heat up. If one has to throw away every two years then it is a big waste. And do I need to buy every two years?

Refresh and Rest your eyes, while improving tear ducts flow

I purchased this mask after an eye exam because my optometrist informed me that my tear ducts were clogged. I was told warm compress would help. This mask has help me improve my tear duct flow. I use the mask when I wake up for about 10 - 15 minutes, and my eyes feel refreshed. Sometimes I'll wear it at night, too, and helps me go to sleep quickly.

Excellent product!

I don’t normally write positive reviews mainly bad reviews to warn people but this product is beyond five stars/ plugging it in is much better than using a microwave when the heat plugged in remains warm for as long as you want. It’s super cozy to wear too especially it’s not bulky, it is perfect to wear and feels amazing to warm the eyes. The remote control is simple to use.

Almost 5 stars, but not able to clean

I love this eye mask. I suffer from dry eye and it's helped me unblock my meibomian glands since I massage the lids after. The only problem is that there is no way to clean it well after it gets dirty. I didn't realize the handkerchief was supposed to be worn during use but I also wanted the direct heat on my eyes. The cloth is so crusty it's not possible to remove with only a wet cloth. Next time I'll make sure I buy a product that has a zipper or way to remove the cloth cover.

Can modify to give moist heat for dry eyes

I bought this to help with my dry eye (meibomian gland distinction) symptoms when my opthalmologist recommended warm moist compresses. I wrapped it in plastic wrap as pictured (it doesn't get hot enough to melt it). I lie down and place a clean folded wet facial tissue on my eyes and rest the mask on top (I don't put the strap around my head). I love that it has a timer so it turns off automatically if I fall asleep. I've only had it a few weeks but I think it's been helping and the quality of this item is holding up. It sure beats a warm washcloth which cools off way too fast to be effective.

Electric plug came apart

Every time I unplug the electrical cord the “prong part” stays in the outlet. This happened about 2 months after I got it. It works fine me otherwise.

Hot compression Eye Mask that Gets the Job done!

I was looking for something that would provide a hot compression daily because of my issues with dry eyes. I’ve had allergies that cause these dry eyes for years - my doctor recommended hot compressions to help with this.

The temperature setting of this product is pretty straightforward but it helped me to read the manual the eye mask came with. It can get hot quickly and I found the medium setting as the most comfortable setting. I can relax with it for a period of time for relief. I always set a separate timer when using it. It works fast, heats up quickly and relief is something to look forward in using this product.

Overall, I like using this eye mask when it comes to helping my dry eyes. With its washable cover and 3 heat settings I’m glad to have found this!

Good stuff

There is adjustment function on heat level and time, which is very flexible. One thing that is not good enough is the mask is kind of narrow, can’t cover very well of the eyes. Still Bruder eye compress is better even if it needs a microwave to be heated.

Helps with Chalazions! BUT…

First picture was from May 2023 where you’ll see I had a developed chalazion.

Second picture is June 2023 after using the mask.

I purchased this heated eye mask APRIL 2023 and I would use it morning and night with massages before and after applying heat for several weeks

This mask helped dissolve majority of chalazion. It is hardly noticeable now. I am very thankful for this product!

However, the adapter piece recently broke and I am disappointed I only had the this mask for a little over 2 months :/

I rate this product a 3/5 because it helped clear up my Chalazions but I am disappointed on the cheap adapter…

Would love to find a adaptor replacement just don’t know where🥲

NO MORE Soggy WASHCLOTHS!

The Aroma Season Heated Eye Mask is a MUST-HAVE for any First Aid KIT!

I got a stye in my left eye, and the doctor said to use warm compresses.

Now, you and I know that it is a PAIN to have to keep rewarming washcloths.

I do NOT use a microwave, so those flaxseed bags were NOT a choice.

I found the Aroma Season Heated Eye Mask - a flaxseed electric version that settles right into the eye socket nicely, and the timer allows me to choose the timing and the temperature that suits my needs.

It even includes a power cube, so I don't have to go and rob one from another appliance to make it work.

The six-foot cord is long enough to allow me to sit or lie in bed and still work or watch my iPad Pro!

I can even use it over one eye and still wear my glasses!

For under $30, this is a GREAT VALUE!

P.S. I cut a terry washcloth into pieces the size of my eye socket to add more moisture. Then I rinsed a section in hot water and placed it onto my infected eye. To prevent wetting the mask, I used a piece of plastic food wrap, laid it over the wet cloth, and then put the mask over it. This provided the heated moisture that the doctor wanted me to use.

Good product with a bad cover

Works flawlessly just like described. Only thing not well is the cheap, lazy design of the wrap cover. It only has a single sticky seal at the center so the rest of the heat pad is not protected.

Happy EYES! must read...

My tired, puffy eyes finally have a remedy! UNFORTUNATELY, unlike the model in your product photo, when I put on full makeup and walk around with my eye mask on... I do NOT look happy after smacking my head! While I do love the sweet relief this eye mask provides– alleviating everything from itchy, watery eye allergies to morning eye puffiness to stress-induced styes, I wish it protected my ENTIRE head when I walk around! Well, at least my eyes look great, even if my face doesn’t. Perhaps there’s a product to help my face swelling? Overall, the pain of running into things isn’t as bad when wearing the mask. I’ll keep trying to look as happy as the model. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! - The Keen Bee

Great mask

Great mask! I have really bad dry eyes. I use this 3 times a day and I’m seeing a difference. The setting are awesome. I just can’t see anyone going higher then 3 level. It gets pretty hot 🥵.

I like that it is a thin mask and fits even with CPAP mask.

Helped my chalazion!

I have been dealing with a chalazion for over 2 months and finally scheduled an appointment with an ophthalmologist for a surgical evaluation. Unfortunately the wait period for this doctor was over a month and I watched some very helpful YouTube videos about the underlying causes of chalazion. The main cause is a blockage of the meibomian glands in your eyelid, the oil hardens and creates the chalazion. Applying consistent heat will help soften up the oil. I ordered 5 different heated eye masks and this one was the absolute best! It heats up really well and you can set the timer for up to an hour. The small design actually fits perfectly on my eyes and applies the right amount of pressure. After using this for a few weeks my chalazion is nearly gone! I've been using it as much as possible on the highest heat setting. I'm

going to continue to use this eye mask as a way to prevent future eye problems.

Better than a microwaved mask

Short version:

-You choose a temp of Low/Medium/High, not a specific temp degree

-Unscented

-Timer only has 20/40/60 min options, and heating up is part of that time

-Does not beep or make any noise

-Cannot sleep with it

-No battery, must be plugged in to heat

-USB cable is about 76.5” long, comes with outlet converter

-Strap is a simple slider buckle on elastic

-Washable cover is a plus but it slides around

Overall I’m happy with the product and would recommend it!

Long version:

I’m prone to infections in general throughout my body, so styes are common for me. Sometimes the styes even become chalazions and one in the past was persistent enough it had to be surgically removed.

So my doctor recommended I start taking omega-3 fish oil* and using a hot compress as a daily habit even when there are no active eye infections to help with preventing future ones, in addition to using it to treat any active infections. I used to use a washcloth run under hot water multiple times a day, but it interrupted my life a lot. So my doc said to try a heated eye mask (so it doesn’t cool as quickly as a wash cloth) for 10+ minutes three times a day instead, and to massage the area around any active infections with clean hands afterwards.

First I made a rice eye mask to heat in the microwave. It was easier/less messy and retained heat longer than a wet washcloth so it definitely was an improvement. But after a few months of that I noticed that I wasn’t doing it three times a day because it was a bother to get up to go microwave it, and annoying to have to lie down for it so it wouldn’t fall off my eyes. I gradually did it less often.

I figured I’d be more likely to stick to the habit if I kept an electric mask that I didn’t have to get up to prepare for use by my usual spot/recliner. Bonus, with a strap it’d stay on my face and I could sit up/recline instead of having to lie down on the bed or couch.

After reading many reviews for several comparable products, I decided to purchase this Aroma Season heated eye mask. So far I am pleased with it.

It has temperature settings you can easily switch between of low, medium, and high. It doesn’t say anywhere on the box or user manual what the degrees of those setting are, unfortunately, but that may be intentional on their part, as the manual states: “How warm it feels depends on the environment temperature. The environment temperature difference could be more than 50°F between winter and summer. It's suggested to use high mode on cold days and low mode on hot days.

Stop heating when feeling too hot. Be care of moderate temperature burn.”

I found medium to be the most comfortable setting for me right now. My doctor recommended always testing heated masks (no matter the type) against the inner wrist before applying to your eyes to avoid accidentally using too high of a temperature.

Thankfully there is no smell, despite the brand being “Aroma.” I’m pretty sensitive to scents, but heated or heated I smell nothing from this. I’m happy about that!

It has timer settings for 20, 40, and 60 minutes, but the timer starts the moment you turn it to that setting, even though it takes several minutes to reach full temperature. So though at first I was disappointed I couldn’t set it for whatever time I wanted, which in my case was 10 minutes, it worked out because the 20 min setting takes about 5-7 minutes to reach full temperature anyway. That way I get 10+ min at full temperature before it shuts itself off.

You can turn it off manually if you press and hold the temperature control button, if you want to stop it before the timer ends. But there is no “on” button for the heat to stay on indefinitely or to preheat before starting the timer. There is only the button for the three temperature settings and the button for the three timer settings, and you must pick a timer setting for it to begin heating. The screen (dark screen/lit up white numbers) on the controller counts down from the selected time, after which it automatically turns off. Heating up is part of that timer setting’s active time.

There is no noise: no beeping of the buttons, no alarm or notification that the timer is over, no sound of the heating element kicking on/off, etc. This is a plus in my book, but may be a hindrance for those who are blind and can’t see the settings on screen, or for those who want an audible notification that the time is up. It just stops heating, so you won’t notice it’s over until you think, “Wait, is this not as warm as it was a minute ago?” and check the controller.

Some of the reviews here say they like that it quietly turns off automatically because then they can wear it to bed and fall asleep, but the box and manual say multiple times NOT to ever wear this while sleeping or unconscious. I presume it’s dangerous to do so both because the cable could be a choking hazard and because it’s possible to get a burn even from low temperatures if worn long enough, so the user needs to be conscious to be aware if it’s getting uncomfortably hot on their skin.

There is no way to use it without the cord because there is no battery. It must be plugged in to heat. You cannot microwave or otherwise manually heat the eye mask because the cable is built into it.

The cable end is a USB but it comes with a USB power adapter so that you can plug it into an outlet. The cable from mask to the end of the USB plug is about 76.5 inches long. From mask to the end of the female jack is about 6 inches and from the male jack to the controller is about 11 inches (in other words, from mask to the top of the controller is about 17 inches).

The strap to keep the mask on is a simple plastic slider buckle on an elastic strip. Should fit all head sizes as it has a wide adjustable range. My head curves in the back right where I’d want the strap to be so it either slides up and makes the mask not stay on my eyes just right or it slides down and presses on the tops of my ears. Not ideal, but after getting used to it I’ve learned how to put it on my head so that I’m comfortable. Others who have a different shaped head likely won’t have this issue.

Though the mask itself is blue on the outside and gray on the inside, the mask cover is all gray so you don’t see the blue. It came with a washable cover, which I appreciate as the mask itself is not washable. I wish it came with two covers so one could be in use while the other is in the laundry, but oh well. It’s not a fitted cover, so it would be easy to copy it and make another. It’s just a rectangle with a snap in the middle, to wrap around the eye mask and hold it in place. But because it isn’t fitted (sewn to fit the shape of the mask) it kind of slides around while in use, which is annoying only because the rectangle is three strips of fabric instead of one, and only the middle section is soft. So if it slides a bit you may have some slick material instead of just soft jersey material partially touching your face. So for this simple cover design it would have been better if the whole rectangle was the same soft fabric, but it’s not that big of a deal. Maybe I’d take a half star off my review because of the cover if I could, but it’s not worth knocking a whole star off for. I’m just glad there’s a removable cover at all.

Overall I’m pleased with the product. Despite some changes needed to reach perfection, this certainly is an improvement over a microwaved rice eye mask.

The brand my doctor recommended was out of my budget, but when I chose this instead they were still pleased because it has EPA and DHA in it (cheap brands don’t and so they’re not effective). Please consult your doctor before taking fish oil yourself, but if you have frequent eye infections like I do it’s worth talking to them about possibly adding it to your regimen. And if you already take an omega-3 supplement, have your optometrist check the label on yours to see if it’s of good enough quality to be effective or if you’re wasting your money on something that doesn’t actually help. It can be hard to stomach paying more for a better brand but it makes a difference!

Bad cord but great customer service and they stand behind their product.

Poor quality. The cord split after only five uses. It probably had a razor thin cut from the factory that got worse after a few uses.

However, after contacting the company, they immediately supplied a new mask, so I revised this to give them four stars just for standing behind their product and for their great customer service.

Charger fuse blew out

The charger broke from simply pulling the cord with my leg.

I tried to place it back together but the charger blew.

I also had issues with having it heat up, however that might be for safety concerns.

the strap was super uncomfortable and bit into my ears.

Wanted this to work but I’m disappointed

I’m highly disappointed because the high setting doesn’t get very warm at all. It feels slightly warm but that’s as far as it goes. Now, I understand hey do that for safety reasons but the heat won’t spread all over the eye mask like I was hoping. The heat isn’t properly distributed. The warmth stays just in the middle of the mask, so it doesn’t relieve the eyelids. However, I do like the comfortability of it and the cover for it was nice. Overall, I’m really unsatisfied with this specific product and I don’t think it’s worth the cost.unfortunately, I will be sending it back.

Comfort my eyes

Ever since I got pregnant, my eyes are getting sour and dry very easily. So I decide to buy eye masks to comfort my eyes. I did a quick research and found this one with a high rating and reasonable price. Turns out it indeed works. I already used it for a couple of months and it still works fine. I like it can adjust different temperatures and set the timer to auto shut down. It becomes one of my bed routines now. Great value!

Overnight difference

I haven't been using this product for very long(three or so nights) but it has made a huge difference already. I noticed i looked better after even just one night.

I am using the mask and OcuSoft lid scrub and highly recommended both.

My eyes were so bad it hurt to see and vison was getting blurred, everything I tried seemed to make things worse and I felt like this was going to be my look for now on.

Thanks to the aroma season mask and Ocusoft lid scrub I am almost back to normal on a matter of days

Dry Eye Relief Made Easy and Great Customer Care

The heated eye mask is great for relieving dry eye symptoms. My pathologist recommended getting an eye mask I could plug in instead of having to heat one in a microwave. I have been using the Aroma Season Heated Eye Mask for about two months, and it is making a difference to me. My eyes feel better, and it is convenient to have the mask on my nightstand. The controls are simple. Timer and heat settings fit my needs. When I use the mask, my eyes feel refreshed. I have a small face and the mask fits well, plus the strap to adjust makes it customizable. I just wish I could charge the mask and use it without a cord. I recommend this mask to those who have dry eyes and want a simple solution.

When my first unit died, Julie replaced it in days. I am happy again to have this mask saving my eyes from dryness.

Glad I found Aroma Season.

Worked for my meibomian gland dysfunction and chalazion . Detailed

At the end of December after battle an eye issue since before thanksgiving, I was diagnosed with meibomian gland dysfunction and a chalazion (cyst). After basically finding out there is nothing I can do and I’ll have to deal with this the rest of my life; I was told to take 2000mg of fish oil and use warm compress 5x a day for 20mins. And once a day when I’m better for prevention. If it got worse I’d need surgery.

I’m a mom of two young kids and standing there at the sink constantly putting a wash cloth on my eyes was time consuming and ridiculous. After some research I found this mask and I am so happy I bought it.

The picture shows when it looked like day 1, 3, 5 of using the mask 3-5x a day on the hot setting for 20mins. It looks significantly better. My eyes are still itchy for some reason so I might get some eye drops. I also may lower my heat setting bc read conflicting articles about high temperature heat affecting your eyes. But you need the high temp to liquify the grossness in the cyst. I definitely felt it working because when the larger part of of the cyst finally got through the gland it was running down my cheek. (Gross).

Highly recommend.

This wonderful eye mask was recommended by my ophthalmologist. I use it every night as directed 20 minutes heated, and because of my specific condition, I sleep in it throughout night. Only use heat mode for the 20 minutes. Otherwise it is not "on" but provides the comfort and blocking of air from hitting my eyes.

Packaged securely. Easy to setup and use. Love it! Highly recommend.
