Lovely keyboard but something wrong

I do like the keyboard and easy to setup and easy to use and nice light and nice touch but one the day the keyboard stops working and one light flash, no good quality.

Exceptional Gaming Keyboard

This AUSDOM Hola 87 wireless gaming keyboard is excellent quality. Despite the compact size, it has a great weight, which makes it feel especially sturdy. The typing experience is smooth and satisfying, accompanied by a pleasant sound. While I typically prefer keycaps with top printing, the side printed ones work just fine here. However, some characters can be a bit tricky to see without the backlighting. On the bright side (pun intended), the RGB lighting is fantastic. It shines through the keycaps beautifully, and switching between different effects is super easy. Thanks to the included USB dongle, connecting via 2.4GHz wireless was equally effortless. Lastly, I used this keyboard for about a week and didn’t experience any latency issues. Highly recommended!

Great mechanical keyboard!

Innovative and fun mechanical action keyboard! Especially like that the characters are edge instead of the tops of the keys. Great find!

perfect entry level custom kb

This is a great entry-level option for getting into custom keyboards. Sure, it is not a big-name brand, but it is solid with all the foams and layers without going over $100. It is a great way to learn how to mod your keyboard without breaking the bank. The typing feel is excellent with a soft thock sound profile. I love the hidden letter keycaps that only appear when there is light. The RGB is bright with many patterns, making it perfect for beginners, intermediate gamers, or anyone getting into custom keyboard building.

Great alien technology aesthetic. Satisfying quieter clacky keys. Good customization software.

I'm enjoying this side-printed keyboard more than I expected. The semi-quiet key sound has become my new favorite. Keys have a not loud clack that's satisfying. Linear switches are light and pleasant to type on. I ended up liking the blank tops and the great aesthetic when not in use. This is a nice keyboard and good value. It's become my favorite keyboard. EDIT: still enjoying it almost a year later and using it full-time every day. I just love the sound so much.

I was planning on probably replacing the key caps because of the side printing, but the look on my desk has changed my mind. When off the gradient and blank appearance are striking. It's like some alien technology with no symbols. It's also a good exercise in memorizing keys because I was looking down too much. I used the Windows software to set custom lighting on just the central keys (see photo).

Connection selection is the best I've used on the many keyboards I've tried. Bluetooth, USB dongle, and wired are all selected the same, with Fn1-5 rather than a switch on the back as on many. They can all be selected between even when connected to a PC via USB-C, rather than being fixed on USB-C only.

Windows customization software is pretty good, though it lacks assigning keys to mouse functions. All changes are saved to keyboard and work no matter what OS it's connected to. Most keys can be reassigned, including moving modifiers around (except Fn and standard Fn keys for controlling RGB and connection). Media keys are supported. Supports Fn toggle mode where each Fn press switches between normal and Fn layers, rather than only when Fn is held. Has key debounce delay setting. RGB patterns can be customized, speed changed, and custom mode allows individual settable colors for every key, e.g. to highlight the WASD keys.

RGB showing between keys can get plenty bright, but light coming through key legends is dimmer. Lots of great patterns, including lighting up a key when pressed, or various patterns that expand from key pressed. RGB backlight does use PWM dimming which is noticeable when sweeping vision across, but RGB colors do not "separate" into separate RGB components as on other keyboards.

Key switches measure at 40 gf/1.6 mm activation, with 46 gf/3.6 mm travel. Switches operated smoothly over days of use. I don't hear any travel noise when typing, just the clack when it bottoms-out and then returns back.

Keyboard is built sturdy. Plastic is strong and there is no bending in the middle when using stands. Power switch sticks out and is easy to operate. USB-C port works with round magnetic USB tips. Keyboard weighs 1058 g (2.3 lb.). Case can be opened with a pry tool (no screws).

Minor issues:

- Battery isn't the best, despite its big 10,000 mAh battery. I measured 44 mA current draw when awake (112 mA with RGB on), then after 2-30 minutes (settable) dropping to 26 mA when idle, then after 15 minutes dropping to zero and going to sleep. I measured current by disconnecting the batteries and powering via USB.

- When keyboard has gone to sleep, it takes a couple of seconds to wake up, losing keystrokes during that time. Minor annoyance.

- Keys started to double and not respond sometimes after a few months. I traced it to the switches having some dark bits on contact ends. Removing the problem switch and cleaning the metal pins by scraping them solved the issue.

- Fn-Alt and Fn-Menu (right next to each other) toggle side RGB and RGB above arrow keys. I regularly accidentally turn these on. Side ones aren't even visible normally so sometimes this is on for a while draining the battery. No way to disable these.

- Wired connection has green charging bars flashing above arrow keys. No way to turn off that I could find.

- AUSDOM H87 Keyboard Driver was a little involved to get. Hopefully this will be improved.

- Can't reassign Fn combos for RGB functions, irritating because they use Fn+arrow keys, which would be nice for media control. They could just reserve Fn keys for input selection and resetting, nothing more. This limitation is pretty common on most keyboards.

- Can't assign mouse functions to keys, something support by other similar keyboards.

Lovely keyboard <3

This is an awesome keyboard! The switches sound lovely, the typing feel is really nice and the keycaps feel like really good quality. The grey gradient is also so pretty! The typing sound to me is like popping creamy popcorn. Hard to explain but, just think about it lol. I really wish I could find more information on the switches though, because I really like them and want to try them on my modded boards ! I really cannot find much on this brand in regards to the extra details or other people reviewing but I guess that's what we are here for! The board itself is nicely built and has a nice weight to it. The RGB lights are also very nice, south facing to work with the stock switches. Though I am unable to customize the colors and such (see below) I am unsure as to the extent that the lights can be customized.

Now, onto the "see below" part. Where the heck is the software they display in the listing photos? Also, is said software compatible with Mac? I know there are quite a few brands who operate solely on WIndows devices but, as a Mac user, i'd love to be included. I also couldn't find it on Via - so It is not compatible with that. The description says to visit the official website but the website is full of things that are not related to keyboards. With the software it says you can customize the light effects, short cut keys and programming but it seems impossible to find. I checked the manuals and such also, to see if I could find a QR code - but there was nothing of the sort. For that, I am removing a star.

Great tactile feeling and cool colors

Really solid keyboard. With the lights off the keys have no markings, very simple and cool look. The lighting is very flexible with a lot of choices. Easy to change with function keys. I tried pairing this to my mac with bluetooth and it was really easy, the keyboard was very responsive. I paired it to my windows gaming computer using the 2.4 gig dongle. The response time is great. Switching between mac and windows is a quick function key combo. I like the feel of the keys as well. It is a heaving keyboard at 37.28 ounces.

Likes

- Easy to set up and use

- Easy to switch between windows and Mac

- Solid feeling keyboard with smooth action

- Flexible lighting with lots of presets

So far I LOVE it....

I have only used this briefly but it has been everything I wanted and aligns perfectly with my RGB-themed room. I like the subtle lights. Even though the user-manual didn't come in English, I was able to use the included insert to figure out how to connect easily to my laptop. It's maybe heavier than I anticipated but that also makes it not feel cheap. I'm looking forward to using it a lot. In fact, I typed this using it. I'm planning to use it to allow me to connect my laptop to my projector or monitor and not have that screen open all the time and blocking my view. I spend a lot of time multitasking on more than one screen so this can help keep things cleaner as I shift between them.

Built well and works great

Love this keyboard, finally a “clicky” keyboard that I enjoy typing on, and the lights are so pretty. Now I should mention I am not techie or a gamer, I got this product soley for the sound and lights and it’s perfect. I am having a tad bit of trouble setting up the wireless option even though I followed the steps but I guess it’s ok. It is a work keyboard anyway so wired is fine. The only thing I wish it had was a 10 key. It’s also hard to get used to the letters on the front of the keys and not the tops.

Cool gaming keyboard

Awesome gaming keyboard. I am just getting into gaming and wanted to try and actual gamer keyboard. This one is great! Lots of instructions on how best to use it and it lights up up beautifully. Unlit it is a dull grey color, lights on, it’s fantastic. I learning slowly on how to use it but so far I am happy with it
