Auxbeam Review

This switch panel is awesome! I was about to spend $600+ on a higher end version until ChatGPT recommended Auxbeam. The install was very easy and I paired it with the Vice engine bay mount. I highly recommend the switch panel. This was installed on my 2026 RAM3500

Good

Just installed it today, so I’m giving it 4 stars for now until I’ve had more time to test it out. If you have Baja Designs lights, you know how bulky and cluttered their plug-and-play wiring harnesses can get. This switch panel made a huge difference in cleaning up my wiring and keeping everything organized. So far, I’m really happy with how it turned out!

** I meant drl lights not dsrl

2024 Can-Am X3, Worth it.

Grab some beers, give yourself about 3 hours and be patient. The amount of clutter this removes from the tunnel is insane, I bought the 8 accessory panel, only needed 5 but future installs will take only a few minutes. The built in relay, pulse mode and all your accessories in 1 place is what I enjoy the most.

Worth it. ✌🏼

Easy to install and connect auxiliary to.

Easy to install but does not turn off with pn off button. Customer service sent me a switch that does not connect . While the backlight doesn't turn off, it doesnt seems to drain the battery

Required to change Flash Patterns

Had to upgrade to this RGB Switch Panel because the 'Momentary' feature is required to change flash patterns on flush mounted LED strobes.

I had professional installation wired HOT so the lights run when the vehicle is shut off. Easy to use and program. Able to select All On or a combination of just Rear, Front or Side warning depending on need for versatility.

Really like the MODE button because it turns off the panels backlights when parked for the evening. Other Auxbeam panels (non RGB) stay lit if you wire them HOT.

Top row used to toggle Front, Rear and Side Warning. Used the bottom row programmed to the Momentary setting for Flash Pattern Changes on 3 different LED Lamp manufactures.

This device is needed if you use many lights for front, sides and rear independent toggle and is worth the cost.

Thanks for listening!

Worked great in my boat.

Works great, easy to use. Put this one in my boat to take place of the factory switches and breakers that were trash.

Caution, works… kind of.

Trying to work with Auxbeam regarding an issue that I am having. First, the control unit on/off light does not stay on. The unit is powered to keyed power on my Polaris buss bar. The switch will turn connected devices on/off but will not hold memory. Also the unit flashes as you can see in the video. I am still in the 3 year warranty so we will see if Auxbeam will cover it.

JEEP - Just Empty Every Pocket!

My son and I just installed this unit in my Jeep and so far I am loving. I've only used two toggles so far for my front and rear lockers, but have plans for plenty of lighting to come. One piece of advice... determine WHERE you plan to attach it before purchasing. I thought I wanted the version that dumps 4 wires out each side, but after installing it determined that the single side dump would have worked so much better. Made it work... so no harm, no foul!

Works great in a Maverick X3

I got this switch to power my lights on my Can-Am X3. The install is straight forward. Your switch panel gets mounted to the location of your choice. The power distribution box gets mounted near your battery. There's one cable that connects the two together. You connect all your accessories to the main distribution box. You don't need any added relays since it's all solid state. It has (2) 30A circuits, (2) 20A, (2) 10A and (2) 5A circuits. This gives you a clean setup without having to mount multiple switches on your dash. You can change the colors of your buttons to your preference.

You have 3 modes to select for your accessory outputs. 1 is a on-off, 2 is momentary and 3 is flashing.

Don't think about it just by it!!!!!

Impressive quality and perfect fit for my 2018 RAM 3500!

I recently installed the Auxbeam 8 Gang switch panel in my 2018 RAM, and I couldn't be happier with it. The build quality is great—everything feels solid and well-made, with impressive attention to detail that you don't always see in these kinds of aftermarket accessories.

What really sold me was the easy installation. The single-wire connection to the switch panel made the whole process straightforward—no messy wiring harnesses or complicated setups. It simplified everything compared to other options I've looked at.

The included mounting bracket fit perfectly right in the center of my dash. No modifications needed, no awkward positioning—it just dropped in like it was made for it. Clean, professional look without any hassle.

If you're looking for a reliable 8-gang setup for controlling lights, accessories, or whatever else on your truck, this one delivers. Super satisfied and would buy again in a heartbeat!

Great little switch box

Great small switch controller for lights and ham radio. Small enough to mount easily and all power connections under the hood. Great setup and easy to wire and install.

Excellen quality. always have your electrical installations done by a professional.

Excellent purchase, very functional and easy to install if you follow the instructions. I had to fabricate a bracket for my car, as the one that came in the box didn't work. I would definitely buy another one if needed; it's easy to configure the colors and lighting mode.

Easy to install and easy to use

Bought this for my lights, I like how it comes with everything to wire up, simple buttons to press for lights, and easy to wire extra lights to it.

Can Am Maverick X3 Max

10/10 recommend buying this panel. Makes installing your lights very easy, also the strobe/flicker mode is one of the main reasons I got this. Very easy to install ,this is how I installed on a Can Am Maverick X3 Max without drilling any holes. Only had to extend the “ACC” wire from switch panel to ACC Bus Bar. Good Quality.

Awesome switch box/relay board

Works great, amazing product, lots of mounting solutions included in box. Wiring it up is really no harder than wiring up a relay. I used this to power my 9” Scandinavian driving lights.

For JK owners considering this product

For JK owners - Great product. Only issue, the product is not specifically designed for a Jeep.

iGreely 8 Gauge 8 AWG Welding Battery Pure Copper Flexible Cable,10 Feet Black +10 Feet Red OFC Cable for Solar RV,5pcs 5/16" & 5pcs 3/8" Copper Cable Lugs Terminal Connectors with Heat Shrink Tubing

to connect to the battery due to the distance. The hardest part was putting the control cable through the firewall. Everything works as described, although I have not tried the strobe. You can also place the control panel up between the visors, there is enough cable to run it there. Would not hesitate to purchase again.

Had issue, seller sent a new one, still have my reservations about the switch

Had issues with a faulty item. The seller sent me a new one. Connected everything as I should and this new one is working.

HOWEVER, still not fully happy because of the following:

-vehicle needs to be on for the switch to work

-you cannot turn off the blue background light on the switch panel like you can on Voswitch

-the baseplate was put on backwards (the number one button is on the number 8 button and the “on light doesn’t align” (see my video). I recommend that you connect everything and make sure the lights align properly before installing so you can see everything is working. I cannot since the switch is stuck with 3M adhesive tape.

Since I have a custom 3D printed switch adapter, I will be doing custom wiring to be able to turn on and off the lights while my vehicle is off. (Simple, adding a switch to the switch which is redundant and they should come like this from the factory, like Voswitch, instead of me having to do it.)

I guess it does the job if you’re willing to put up with my grievances stated above.

Installed on a 99 Jeep Wrangler

Installed this yesterday on my 99 TJ and loved the install. Took me about 4 hours as I am OCD about my wiring. I mounted it on top of the PDM under the hood. I did have to find a couple more screws to mount the controller and the circuit breaker on the PDM cover. I had some magnetic mounts that I used to install the remote to the A pillar of the Jeep without drilling any holes in the window frame. I connected it to a new set of Auxbeam driving lights I installed on the front bumper and to the DRLs in the LED headlights. So far so good. I will update once I have used this for a while

A++ quality

This is not a sponsored review nor was this given to me. First light controller I ever bought and boy am I super pleased with this company the controller itself is actually in a metal case and mounting brackets are thicker than I expected. They even included a clear rubber cover that goes over the controller when is being exposed to rain or snow, mud etc. cables for power and ground wires exceeded my expectations with thickness and quality I’m super happy to se they included both type of fuse jumpers all heat shirt ends and loom all looked flawless extra zip ties were a wonderful touch and wish every company did this. 10/10 would recommend this to everyone can’t wait to order some pod lights from auxbeam both amber and white and review them, I’m expecting them to be great after seeing the quality of work they did with this.

Easy to install

2017 Tacoma install, I decided to mount the switch panel in the overhead sunglasses dropdown for a clean hidden look. I will be replacing the screws with flush mount screws once I am able to find the right ones.

If you follow the video that auxbeam provided you will have no issues installing this unit.

Very Happy So Far

Installed on the top of an 2001 Tacoma 4 door 4x4 fuse box.

I first tried the BB80, but when I opened up the box I saw that the terminal connections would be exposed to dust and possibly water splash. I did not notice that when I ordered it.

It would not be a good for Colorado forest service off roads and any type of possible splash up.

I returned the BB80.

The BA80 was a great fit, very easy install and it HAS A COVER FOR THE TERMINALS TO REDUCE DUST AND WATER SPLASH. I installed it on top of the truck fuse box and did not use the supplied mounting brackets.

The inside controller was easy to install with the provided bracket and strong double face tape.

The dimmer works as described.

It has been on the truck for about a month and 1 off road trip thru mountain dust, mud and rain. I was very please when I opened the hood. The cover had dust and splash, but the inside terminal area was clean.

I am happy so far and will follow up more as time goes on. I hope the pics help.

Nice Alternative to Higher End Switching Panels

This is the new version with auto dimming/brightness. Previous versions had a white wire that you had to provide power to and pulse for changing the brightness. Glad they redesigned that. I wish it had a ‘light’ wire though so it’s not staying lit whole time car is on. It would be nice not to be backlit until vehicle lights were on. Guessing it was a design choice to keep limited wire runs. This version has a memory. If car is on and you have things active. You can press middle button and it turns everything off at once. Press again and it turns on everything that was on. When you turn car off and back on everything defaults to off. So if you have fans or coolers you need to remember to turn them back on. I have ran it for a couple of hours and it does not produce any heat. Very simple setup with very few wires or connections. I used the provided bracket (which is hidden under all of the foam) and hid the whole switching unit under some panels

A few things I don’t like about this whole system.

1.The circuit breaker cover is too snug. If you push it all the way down it resets it, be sure to just set it on top but not push down all the way. Glad I tested it all out before putting cover on, otherwise that would have been confusing.

2. It’s not customizable. You get 2 each 5a, 10a, 20a and 30a fuses. What if you don’t need all those higher amperage ones. And you can’t move them around, you’re stuck using the switch in the order they set.

3. Short power wire from battery to circuit breaker

4. You can’t really add a fridge to it even though there’s a fridge label. Reason is, this panel only works with ACC so your car needs to be on. Not good for a fridge to always have your car running. I suppose you can have fridge wired in then when get to camp site move to other power source.

5. The power and ground cable ring are small. Will fit over 10mm bolt but not 12mm. I ended up widening the ring to fit on my battery terminal.

6. Not sure if it will support air compressor. My compressor has already an inline 20a fuse so my assumption is it will work but have not tried yet.

7. The brackets that come to mount the switch are good and bad. It has a couple of options / ways but it will most likely require altering your car.

Overall though, nice alternative to the higher priced switching panels. it comes with high quality parts. Not all plastic. Easy to install. Looks good. Easy to use. If you have 2 or more accessories it’s worth it for a clean nice look with fewer wires and switches every where.

Great product if it worked 👎

Switch control panel would not turn OFF at least 2 terminals on every unit I tried. #3 and #8 on one box, tried another but #5 and #6 would not shut off, ect.

Finally decided to try a cheaper brand than Auxbeam, and it works perfect! Several weeks and lots of headaches trying to deal with Auxbeam with no luck! Sent all 3 back for refund.

great control and simple install

Ive been wanting to add switch panel to my jeep for a while now. Ive been debating several different styles and each has their strengths and weaknesses. I finally pulled the trigger on the AUXBEAM 8 Gang Switch Panel. I really liked a couple of important features this system offered and the look was clean. The whole process is about 10 to 15 minutes. It took me more time to figure out where to mount the control panel, than it did to install the system. You simply connect positive (red) power and the ground (black) to the battery from your switch unit. Next the control wire to the head from the switch unit. Last the accessory fuse optional. This kills the power to the unit when the vehicle is off. Thats it you're done. Now that I got it installed heres the good and the bad of this system.

PROS:

This has to be the best thing about this system, its really simple to install. You get a nice solid metal bracket for your controller and the switch unit to mount anywhere in your vehicle or engine compartment. That leads to another feature I LOVE is it water proof. You can submerge it under water. This means you can mount it anywhere it can get wet without fear. If I drive with my jeep top off I don't have to worry about the control unit getting wet. The LED is bright and easy to see, even during the day. The controls are quick and connected equipment get power and activate fast.

CONS:

My only gripe is the stickers that come with the system are a bit limited or boring. I really wanted a Sasquatch and zombie picture. You do get a lot of useful images, but the fun ones are not included.

Overall im beyond happy with the systems performance. Its clean style doesnt look out of place in my vehicles interior. It lets me control many auxiliary electronics and places them in a single location. I know when things are on and I know when things are off.

for now,,,,,this is what I can tell

11/8/2020

So, I am installing it this afternoon so I will update when I am done. From what I can tell, it is well made. There is a lot of small details in this that I am liking.

PROS:The channel for the wire (on control panel( CP) has more than one location to come out (top bottom left right) so where you install on dash it can be hidden. Mounting plate for CP feels solid and powder coated. Mounting plate for "fuse panel (FP)" also is made the same. What I am not in love with is it really only has one or two mounting options (more on that after install). FP is easy access. Just lift the see thru plastic up and tighten the wires to it. Easy. However, that means it is not really "water proof" now is it? (it may not matter, time will tell)

CONS: (not much to complain here): First, the price. Yes it is NICE!! but I am not too sure if it is THAT nice) the fuses are not numbered to the panel. So it may be a "catch and release" program to figure out what button goes to what fuse at first. The battery POS and NEG are bolted in place. I sort of feel like it should be a cleaner look (maybe a rubber piece to cover that,, truly is NOT a big deal at all). And the "remote" wire for the fuse panel to truck is as short as my.. well it is short. I am going to have to extend that just to get it thru the firewall. It should of been longer. What would of been great is have it wrapped up in the BLACK control wire to control unit and then about half way through have it come out ( so it goes thru the firewall as ONE wire and not two). And lastly is the control wire is gonna be rather fun to get thru the firewall with the quick release end on it (although I do not see any other way).

I will do a follow up as soon as it is installed.

update: as promised first this is a 2016 Ram 1500 Diesel.

Now that it is installed let me add some things. FIRST there is only 2 ways the wire on the controller can go. Up or down, no side to side. 2nd. the darn mount for the controller will not allow the mount to be 90 degrees. So if you were planning on mounting it on the dashboard, it will not go 90 degrees there is too much overhang from the controller. It is a sad oversight with the making of. I wanted to mount it under my push to start and it will not be 90 degrees to me. So it is about 75 to 80.

next. the controller wire (black) is too short. WAY too short. If you want to mount it to your windshield in the center ( or overhear console) you are WAY short. So I am limited to where I can install the controller.

The ON/OFF red button is ONLY to shut off the AUX you have on ( so if u have 4 aux on you can hit the red button and it will shut off all. The blue lights will not shut off unless the ignition is off.

Next- the switch labels are rectangular. So that limits to the mount facing you. In other words if you wanted to put it on its side (and mount it on your A pillar long ways) first, not enough wire (maybe) second, the buttons are now reading sideways. Had the buttons been square you could adjust accordingly.

lastly. They only give you one type fuse wire to add to your vehicle. So, like me, I have the micro2. Will not fit. Nor will VW fit. So, if you order this go ahead and order the fuse wire for your vehicle ( RAM OWNERS, do not bother trying the local auto car parts place. I went to three different stores. Nothing

pics- 1st shows how it can only go one way with stickers and the lights ( I only have one sticker on there)

2nd- my mounting to my fuse box. I had to do it this way in order to open the fuse box. (yes I will tuck wires away later). 3rd- temp location until I can find where I can mount it ( wanted it on overhead, not enough wire)

4- the one and only fuse extender. Good luck Ram owners

5- back of unit, only 2 ways for wires- up or down, no side to side,.

It seems well made. I just noticed these short commings. For the price I am not too pleased but since I already have it I will keep it. I have no lights hooked up yet ( totally different review but I need more bolts to add to cross bar on vehicle). VERY easy to install

5.16.21 Still going. NO ISSUES at all. Works as it should.
