Overall good, with a few minor complaints

This book really does cater to the beginner, which I liked. However, two things I found annoying...

1) The workbook is printed in black and white, so the color-coded "Strong and Weak Beats" was useless unless you referred back to the theory book (color print).

2) The exercises in the workbook seemed a bit juvenile since your simply tracing what's already printed, and in other sections, copying the line above...its not chalenging you to perform from memory. Perhaps this is supposed to help you memorize, but it came across like what they do in kindergarten to help children learn the alphabet. It was extremely tedious and I quickly started to skip these exercises.

3) The theory book prints "Incorrect" versions of music notation, which actually confused me at first since I initially didnt catch it was giving an example of what NOT to do. This seems pointless and potentially confusing...actually, literally confusing at one point.

Im only to section 4, and will continue to study the book since I've purchased it. I AM learning from the theory book, but I cannot recommend the workbook to anyone over the age of 10.
