This company had excellent customer service. They are always willing to help and problem-solve issues. I had an issue with the feeder falling and they took steps to help and will replace things if needed. The camera is really good on this feeder.

The Birdfy Feeder was very easy to charge and set up. It came with different mounting options, so we first chose to mount it close to the house on the post of a fence. Unfortunately, a squirrel found it and kept trying to break into it. He got the seeds but did not harm the feeder itself. We decided to take a second approach and move it to a stand-alone pole near some trees in the front yard. Within 48 hours, a couple of birds started approaching it. It's now a week later and we have had at least 10-15 different bird types visiting! It's reached a point now where we have multiple birds at a time and almost a steady stream of them during daylight hours.
My wife is particularly impressed by the quality of the videos and photos. The app is able to identify almost every bird that visits. Sometimes we just watch the clips and sometimes we visit the website to turn on the livestream. Now that we have found a good place for it, it stays charged all the time and hasn't had any other animals attempt to get into it.
The bird feeder itself is nice, but having the camera and app to record and identify the birds is a gamechanger!

I have several birdfy feeders but this one by far is my favorite. I like that it is heavy duty metal and that the solar panel is attached to the roof. Easy access to camera. Pictures are great quality and videos are excellent quality. I would recommend this birdfy for anyone looking for a sturdy and squirrel resistant feeder with excellent camera quality. Definitely a way to enjoy the beauty of the birds. Also the feeder is fixed that the birds cannot just throw all of the seed on the ground. This is lovely.

We have been enjoying a Birdfy feeder and Birdfy nesting box for sometime because they add an entirely new dimension to bird watching enjoyment. This new Birdfy feeder exceeded our expectations. The feeder is well engineered and constructed. All components are HD and every detail is designed well. Setup was a breeze and it offered a number of mounting options. It paired well and joined our currently utilized Birdfy app with our other products. The technology is advanced and the images are awesome. The instruction manual is easy to follow. I highly recommend this feeder to anyone who enjoys birds.

Before buying make sure you check WiFi capabilities your home offers, the distance it can broadcast from, and power supply distance.
This one works with y WiFi. I had to replace another birdfy camera with this one because my WiFi wasn’t supported.
Once I got this one charged and set up, the 4k view is great. It’s very well made and has held up to squirrel use. The feeder platform/grate deters them from emptying the feeder in on sitting/days.
Easy fill access, the roof slides forward and open.
I use a hard line for power so I cannot comment on the solar option. I use to broadcast live on YouTube and need guaranteed power.
I’m getting a WiFi extender, and my WiFi isn’t strong enough to maintain 24/7 connection.
It’s currently 20-25 feet from my home. Extender arrives in 2 days and costs an additional $60
Camera can be easily roved and cleaned or checked on. I used the metal ring for attachment and can be easily taken down or adjusted.
Overall love this cam. Just a few things to consider before buying.

The camera quality is fantastic. The 4K UHD video provides incredibly clear, detailed images, and being able to watch the birds up close is amazing. It feels like having a front-row seat to nature right outside my window. The bird identification feature is also a wonderful addition and makes it so much more fun to learn exactly who is visiting.
The feeder itself is very well made and feels durable and thoughtfully designed. I love that it is solar-powered, which makes it incredibly convenient and eliminates the hassle of constantly worrying about charging it. The Wi-Fi connectivity is another big plus, especially with the dual-band 2.4/5GHz capability. Once everything is set up, using the feeder and camera is easy and intuitive.
Speaking of setup, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to get everything up and running. The day-to-day use is just as simple, and the ability to check in on the birds and enjoy the camera footage makes this something I genuinely look forward to every day.
But what impressed me most was the customer service and the integrity of this company. When I had a problem, they didn't ignore me or leave me on my own to figure it out. I recently upgraded my original Birdfy feeder with the new Birdfy Metal 2 4K feeder. I am more than satisfied with the new feeder for a number of reasons.
1. The seed guard works really well at preventing birds from spraying seeds all over the ground looking for just the right morsel. I was amazed how much longer the seed lasted in the feeder and how many fewer squirrels I see at the base.
2. Although I still get far too many Mourning Doves at the feeder, the adjustable perch prevents them from sitting in the middle of the feeder tray. They now have to share with the other birds.
3. I really like the roof-integrated solar panel. I no longer have birds perching and pooping on it.
4. The removeable camera makes cleaning the feeder much easier. It also has a threaded receptacle at the bottom so I can easily mount it on a tripod and use as a game camera.
I decided to make some alterations to my original mount. Although the original provided a location for the solar charger, and the 4" pvc prevented access for squirrels, I did end up with a racoon at the feeder. So, when I mounted the Metal 2 unit, I drilled a hole through the top plate and inserted a 3/4" pipe which allowed for a standard squirrel guard.
All-in-all, I can't think of a thing I would change or recommend for improvement.

This is my second Birdfy feeder after my squirrels destroyed the Bamboo on their relentless quest to extract the last piece, even if that means that the bamboo housing must go. To try again under these conditions, I gave the metal feeder a try.
The full metal housing does what it’s supposed to do and resists squirrel attacks. The smaller openings do nothing to deter those critters though, but at least the solar panel is integrated and the cable not easily destroyed. There is effectively no defense against those furry critters beyond the housing not getting destroyed. (No alarm or other measures to scare them off.)
The 4K camera sounds like an improvement and it might be, but compression and an apparent focus problem do not take advantage of it. Apparently a bird has to be within 4-10“ from the camera, but most are significantly closer. Strangely though, the trees in the background (approx. 20-30 ft) are in focus. Not sure if that’s by design or a faulty unit.
The now external antenna should make for better reception but is on par with the integrated antenna in the 1080p camera of the Bamboo, maybe even a bit worse. In fact I am within 2 unobstructed meters of the WiFi 7 router and all I can get is 70% signal strength. We‘re talking about an Orbi 870 here!
A week ago I ran into a problem when battery level rapidly dropped and was in full sun unable to get above 5%. Not sure what the reason was, but after a firmware update and restart it’s working fine now.
Finally, everything happens online and in their cloud. Not a big deal when everything works, but a server outage a few weeks ago made it impossible to view past videos, add new cameras or even configure them. That was a helpless week.
The basic AI identification is a great feature to know who actually visited even if for some reason this year‘s variety seems limited to Titmouse, Cardinal and Chickadee.

I own the Birdfy Duo, the HumFeeder Duo, and now the Birdfy Metal Feeder. After using all three, I can honestly say Birdfy continues to raise the bar. My Duo feeders have performed flawlessly, and the Metal Feeder is every bit as good—if not better.
One observation is that if possible, as with any camera feeder there should be a darker colored background like a fence, house or trees so the image isn't overwhelmed by a bright background.
The Metal Feeder is exceptionally well designed. The upgraded antenna provides excellent Wi-Fi range and a reliable connection. The large seed hopper is easy to fill, the wide-opening lid makes refilling quick and mess-free, and the quick-release mounting system makes taking the feeder down for cleaning incredibly simple.
As someone who spends a great deal of time photographing birds, I've been impressed with Birdfy's continual improvements. They have truly refined the art of camera bird feeders, and in my opinion, the Birdfy Metal Feeder is their best design yet. If you're looking for a durable, thoughtfully engineered feeder with an outstanding camera system, I highly recommend it.

I wanted to update my original review because the company reached out after I posted it. Their customer service informed me they had identified an issue with my original bird feeder and offered to send me a replacement at no cost.
I've had the replacement installed in my yard for several days now, and it has worked exactly as expected. The battery stays charged, it remains connected to Wi-Fi, and it's capturing bird activity without any of the problems I experienced with the original unit.
It appears my first feeder was simply a rare defective unit. I really appreciate that the company stood behind its product instead of leaving me with a bad experience. Their customer service was responsive, professional, and made the replacement process easy.
Based on my experience with the replacement, I'm happy to recommend both the product and the company. A great example of customer service making things right.

From day one it never worked. I charged it prior to setup, placed it in a spot that got daylight almost all day, and it never would stay charged. It would always tell me to charge it. It wouldn't stay connected to my wifi. It caught one bird on video and the rest was me every time I had to go out and mess with it. This product is an absolute waste of time.

I ordered this metal Birdfy feeder after a bear broke my original plastic one which had reliably served us for a few years. I was immediately impressed with the heavy duty construction and quality manufacturing. I noticed the little details like the small magnets that hold the top cover closed and the little swivel parts that secure the seed cover that are shaped like little bird feet! I was also happy to see everything included for every mounting option. The pole top one was perfect for me. It’s easy to fill and clean. I appreciate the new camera setup that doesn’t have to be adjusted like the original one to see the birds. The lifetime AI bird identification feature is a big bonus because I missed it when my free trial ran out on the first one. The quality of the bird images is outstanding! The built in solar panel works and looks great. I never have to bring it inside to charge it. You will not be disappointed with this one!!

UPDATE...I am now happy with my purchase. Customer service followed up with me and provided a firmware update to test. The results are remarkable.
The first photo was the best result before the new firmware. The second is the difference with the same type of bird in overcast/cloudy weather.

I was so excited to order the new Birdfy Metal 2 4k smart feeder! It’s exactly what I expected with attractive new features, perfect size, and built even tougher. I love the unique darker shade of green and the easy pull out camera compartment. It makes it simple to access the camera. My bird post is still a project in the works but you can see how nice it looks on the back side of my original metal feeder. The birds are really loving their own feeding station and I’m enjoying watching them through the Birdfy app. The images are just incredibly crisp and clear. I’m sharing a video of one of my favorite birds on the feeder perch (he’s a regular at the 4k Bistro) so you can see what great quality the camera is. I’m so happy with this purchase:) great job Birdfy!

What a beautiful feeder! Well built! So easy to set up! Netvue Birdfy upped their game with this one! It’s got its own solar panels and everything you need to mount it! The birds were on it almost immediately as it blends nicely into nature too! I really love this one!

I love this feeder so much! The camera is fantastic and i love that it comes with free lifetime AI for identifying birds. It is AI however so it’s not 100% correct every time but mostly.

Sturdy birdfeeder. So far NO Black Bears, Raccoons or squirrels. The oriel and hummingbird feeders we bring in every night, or else the feeders would be destroyed or taken by the bear.
The video attached was taken by my NETVUE by Birdfy Pro Smart Bird Feeder with night vision before I got the Birdfy Smart Bird Feeder w/4k. The bear tore off the feeder’s perch (that's why it’s facing down). In the morning the bird feeder was on the ground. I have also added a metal baffle on to this 8 ft pole which currently holds two bird feeders.
Birdfy, to replace the perch, I had to buy a kit with accessories I already had for $29.99. Is there any way to purchase either the large or small perch (NETVUE by Birdfy Pro Smart Bird Feeder) separately?
I bought the Birdfy Smart metal birdfeeder, because I’m in a battle zone with Raccoons & bears. Fingers crossed.

Great quality images, the squirrels still find a way to land on here but it’s chew resistant and has a two way speaker to attempt to scare them off. I must have deaf squirrels at my house haha. Love being able to bird watch from my phone while taking care of my son. Easy assembly and beautiful bird feeder. Not giving five stars because the connection is not 100% and after charging I have to restart the camera or it won’t provide video even though it shows up as “connected”. Overall great product and would love to purchase add-ons for this product in the future

I recently upgraded to the Birdfy metal feeder with 4K video, and the quality is incredible. Even on a "slow" morning, I feel like I’m watching a high-definition nature documentary right on my phone. The 4K resolution catches every detail.
