BOIFUN 15.6" Portable DVD Player with ATSC TV and FM Radio

Great purchase! Highly recommend 10/10

Works very well. Speakers are LOUD. I have to put it on like 2 when it’s my kid’s nap time lol. Battery life is awesome. Love the multiple charging capabilities. Love the arm that it comes with, perfect device for what I needed. Tired of watching movies/shows on my phones tiny screen. Tired of seeing demonic crap on streaming services. Now I just have my series dvd’s and usb with movies that I love with no pop ups. Thank you! I do with the name of the product was different. “Boifun” is quite weird lol.

If I could afford it I would buy two more of these just in case this one ever goes. Been over a month so far & even dropped it a couple times, still working well! I even dropped the remote in the bathtub 🫣 and it still works perfect! I was worried to say the least but this a great product!

Surpassed expectations, Huge screen, Great Player!

Player arrived securely packaged with several accessories included- wall charger, car charger, antenna for tv and audio visual cables. The screen was so much larger than expected and will be great for multiuser viewing! I was unable to pick up any local channels using the antenna, but this is not surprising as I am in a rural area with no local tv stations. The HDMI feature allowing for google chrome cast (and Apple TV, Roku, firestick) hook up was a very cool feature, and will likely be our most used as this is standout from other comparable portable players! It worked great! Set up of the player was incredibly easy and the unit is very user friendly. Sound and video quality for both HDMI and DVD inputs well surpassed my expectations! It is easy to adjust sound for movie or tv viewing, respectively. Although large, the player is very light, which should allow for easy transport and usage on road trips!

Great TV, DVD, cd, media combination unit.

Wow! Really impressed with this all in one unit. Great sound eith good volume. The USB functions is simple to use. The remote is the key to easy use. It is shipped w/o the two aaa batteries it needs to work. No problem had the batteries on hand. Picture quality is impressive. I tried to get local TV channels using the provided antenna. No luck. Not unusual since I live in a rural area that has no local TV channels. Did not have a firestivk to connect but I am sure that feature works. Would recommend this to anyone.

OUTSTANDING! 🏆

I will start this review with customer service that I find of tantamount importance. I had many, many questions and always received immediate and extremely detailed replies. The bottom line is communication was stupendous! 🥇

Not being tech savvy I will only address my observations and features I use. This TV/DVD/CD player is well made of solid, durable plastic. I weighed it at only 3.9 lb. so it is easily mobile. It has a sleek and attractive design with rounded corners lending to less likelihood of accidental damage if bumped into a wall or injury if jabbed into oneself.

The unplugged battery lasted a bit more than 3 hours with dvd viewing and charging took about 6 hours. The excellent picture color and quality are a delight to watch on the huge 15.6” HD screen! To note is that the screen swivels 180 degrees and can be watched in a laptop position and also, with one vertical move, be placed on an airplane tray table. (see pictures)

The maximum volume levels (1-100) are more than adequate in both directions. I clearly heard it on level 1 which is VERY low and beneficial if not using headphones or wanting to bother others in the room. Sound was not distorted at level 100 which is not deafening.

CDs played without issue but sounded a bit tinny. I was pleasantly surprised that the car charger worked and I was able to play DVDs and CDs in my car.👍🏻

I find this powerhouse of a unit well worth its extreme affordability in spite of my limited use of all its offerings. The 3 year extended warranty is an added bonus should an unlikely issue arise.

Will it hit the corner?

Easy to use. Comes with TV/Radio antenna and auto scans for channels. I like that it has wall and car charging cables included. Very good product for when dad leaves. Even has the old school bouncing logo- can’t wait for it to hit the corner.

Surprisingly versatile and great picture quality

I picked up the 17.5"" Boifun portable TV/DVD player not too long ago, and it's honestly been a pleasant surprise. Right off the bat, the screen size caught my eye—it's big, and the picture quality is excellent. The device itself is made of hard plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap at all; the build quality holds up.

What really stands out to me is how much this thing can do. DVDs, over-the-air TV, Fire Stick, Roku, even CDs and radio—it handles all of them. Plus, being portable makes it super convenient to move from room to room or take along somewhere.

Setting up the antenna to get local channels was quick and simple. I had to move it around a bit to get the best signal, but after that, most of my local channels came in crisp and clear.

All in all, I'm really happy with this purchase. Highly recommend it if you're looking for something versatile and portable.

great portable dvd player

I bought this dvd player mostly to play my dvds but was pleasantly surprised to find that it also plays movies and audios on the usb drive. While the player has an electric cord, it also has a long lasting battery that makes it even more portable. The player also airs televison stations. The picture is clear and crisp. i am very pleased with this purchase.

Boifun 17.5” Portable Player is a great purchase!

I purchased the Boifun 17.5” Portable Video Player with antenna for movies, music and OTA channels during power outages, camping and use around the fire pit. The screen is a generous size and the included remote is user friendly. It was shipped and arrived earlier than expected. The OTA channels are clear. I scanned for channels and received 37 channels in this rural area-surprisingly! I included pics to show the clarity. It’s a great little lightweight product!

Very versatile

Just got this 1hour ago and just wanted to set up the TV part up front one of the reasons I got it. I picked up LAFF tv snd honestly this thing is amazing. People complain about the sound but this is only about half way. Sound quality is actually great. TV reception is not cutting out. I am excited to try the other features on this thing. For anyone who has small spaces or travel etc. This thing is a great thing to have. It was easy to set up. Screen is a great size for something like this. I believe this was worth the money everything that this thing can do and if we ever lose power this thing will be amazing.

Smart VS Dumb TVs

I am very satisfied. I like the DVD player. It works well. It is very portable, a plus when I need to travel. It makes a good kitchen TV, keeping me company as I work. I am now able to watch live local TV. I can watch REAL NEWS and programs not available via streaming.

Smart TVs, although more modern, have difficulty showing live television Main Stream Media shows. Often times the smart TVs' images don't sync with the audio, are very pixelated, or do not transmit at all. It doesn't matter how you position the antenna. In the photo, the useless smart TV is on the right.

In the case of Smart VS Dumb TVs, smart TVs are losers when it comes to live broadcasts.

Not functional after 3 months *UPDATE*

**UPDATED 11/2025**

Thank you to Boifun Customer Service for reaching out after my honest review! They granted a full refund of my purchase (with no hassle of trying to pack up and return the item), and ultimately even sent me a replacement player free of charge. I haven't used it very much yet, but so far all features are functional. Will update review if this one quits working.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Awesome, until it broke after less than 5hrs of run time. Watched two movies on it this summer (bought it to bring camping) then a couple minutes of TV time to test out the antenna feature. This is the second one I bought, as the first one I returned because the screen had broken pixels. Now, the screen flashes green and black stripes in a strobe effect, and the control buttons are almost completely non-responsive. Garbage. Only had it for 3 months, with hardly any use. Would like a refund, but now since it is outside of the return window I have to do a song-and-dance to find someone to talk to about it. Great idea, poor execution.

The best you can get, except for the charging time

Runs for 3hrs, takes forever to charge (last I checked 7hrs when not in use and charging?) but it can run as it's being charged, so I would recommend just watching while plugged into the power box if camping. Holds the charge really well, does not leak battery life.

Nice screen and the volume can get LOUD!!! I have to keep it at 24/100 because of how loud it is! And you can still hear it through walls!

Overall it's the BEST. I just wouldn't rely on a fast charge

Excellent Small Space TV

Downsizing to a small 62+ Active senior apartment took some adjustment after retirement. Finding the perfect sized furniture & making the most of the space was a challenge. I searched awhile for the right TV for my breakfast nook & based on reviews, landed on Bonifun. Excellent reception, color & sound. Didn't really need to stream for use intended. All my local live network channels came in crystal clear. I simply didn't have the experience other reviewers encountered with sound or picture quality. Now I can enjoy morning coffee, meals & my iPad tablet very comfortably. Love love love it.

Vertical Black Lines Right out the box.

I was excited to purchase this tv for power outages and park days. When I took it out of the box everything appeared high quality and solid. The antenna found several local channels. Within minutes of turning it on a large black dot appeared in the upper left corner of the screen and vertical black lines appeared at the bottom. I’m very disappointed and will return.

Versatile TV

Very nice portable TV. Well built and great picture. We take it outside on the deck and use it in different rooms {floors} inside the house. The only negative is the audio. Besides being projected from the back of the TV, causing a rather distant and 'tinny' sound, it lacks volume. Notwithstanding this design flaw, the picture quality and it's versatility make it well worth the ridiculously low price ($125).

Don't overthink. A definite but for traveling with kids

Convenient and easy to set up portable TV. The picture quality is amazing for the size. Features an easy to use remote control with additional controls on the TV. I appreciate all of the items which were included as we intended to use this portable TV in the car. Also Boifun has exceptional customer service so I know that I won't have any issues finding help if a problem were to arise.

Worth the purchase

This product is very nice. It lays flat and functions perfectly. You can use it to play dvds and also use the antenna to get tv channels. The screen size is great. It is as described and holds a charge very well. We have not been disappointment with any product purchased from this company.

A really nice quality DVD player with remote, car adapter etc. What I really like about this one is it is Also a Radio and Television! It even comes with a portable antenna to help pick up local stations. Really convenient. Love it!

Great Quality Biotin

What a NICE TV/DVD Combo unit. Wonderful large screen that has a Great viewing picture. Audio is clear and powerful.

Antenna has a powerful magnetic base. Functions on remote are laid out well. This unit is easy to set up and use. Great to have built in battery as well as a 110 volt wall adapter. I have purchased other players in the past, this combo has surpassed all of them.
