Great pedal possibly used.

I received this boss tuner pedal today and from my experience over the years buying pedals they do not come with batteries. This one did and there was a little bit of an oily surface on it for some reason the battery didn’t work. I replaced the battery and the tuner did work, but it’s rather curious as to why it was shipped this way. I’m assuming it was return.

Choice of two display modes to let you know if your in tune!

Everything I read says you have to have a tuner pedal on your board. So I picked this one based on other reviews. I'm a beginner intermediate player, but I understand the value of being in tune, and the aggravation you feel when what your playing just doesnt sound right. Just plug your guitar cord into the pedal and you can get yourself tuned up to exactly where your supposed to be within a minute or two... depending on the quality of the guitar and your string tuners.

I have no compalint other than my $19.00 metronome and SPARK amp have tuner capabilities included. However not quite to the exact precision of the BOSS TU-3. This also has a bright display mode which can even be seen in daylight, and modes for step up and down tuning, as well as a stop scrolling lights which stop when your string is in tune, or a green light which lets you know when your in tune. If your serious about playing guitar, and you have the extra money to set out, don't hesitate. You won't be sorry.

I have tried a number of different tuners, but the TU-3 beats them all.

Awesome product

Very accurate. Works exactly as advertised for my 5 string bass. I was able to adjust the entonation effortlessly and precisely. I just wonder why I haven't got one a long time ago. Very fast delivery and really happy with my tuner. 10 out of 10.

Fast, acurate and easy to see!

Boss had a hit with the TU-2, which has reportedly been their best selling pedal ever. But, it's time for it to step aside and make room for the next version. And it is a good one!

A tuner is your guitar's best friend and an essential part of any pedal board. I've been using a snark which are cheap and fairly accurate, but for performance quality you really need this guy. There is nothing worse than being out of tune with the rest of your band! And if you record in a studio, you really don't want to record bad pitch for posterity! I will argue that in order to properly setup and intonate a guitar, an accurate tuner is a must, or your guitar will never, ever be in tune! (If you do setups yourself this pedal will pay for itself in 2 setups alone!)

Improvements over the TU-2. Much faster to tune. Seems more accurate +/- 1 cent, Brighter display, and looks much better.

Some other great features:

-Super bright display option. Hold down the left button to toggle a bright display that can be seen well in sunlight.

-"Bypass" and/or Mute. Plugged thru the normal outlet, the pedal will mute your guitar to allow tuning (no futzing with volume knobs). You can also choose to tune while passing thru to the rest of your rig. If you so choose you can use both simultaneously

-Power daisy chain port. The tuner is usually off, so its safe to use the dedicated daisy chain power port on the back of pedal. (No signal impact on pairing another pedal in this configuration.)

-Can be used for alternate tunings (6 half-steps down tuning) and bass guitars

My only complaint is the tiny Sharp indicator, a dot, is really hard to see (For example "C#" looks like "C." That could have been a bit better planned....Other than that, this pedal is guaranteed to be a success. For those who don't have the cash for a TU-3, you can get great deals on the TU-2, still a great pedal but people are leaving it for this one!
