I've been using this mic for over 3 years and it's hands down the best thing I've used. For some background, I stream and play the game Overwatch.
Not only does the streaming audio quality come through great, but voice chat sounds incredibly crisp. Without exaggerating, the typical reactions I get when saying "What's up everybody" when the game starts are:
"Is that a blue yeti?"
"Do I know you from somewhere? Are you a streamer?"
"You sound just like *Insert YouTuber*"
So it's doing a great job.
I paired this microphone up with an adjustable arm that holds it near my mouth and that's helped tremendously.

So I'm writing this review because I was looking at my microphone and just realized that I've had this mic for SEVEN YEARS (got it in April of 2011) now and it still works great!
To anyone considering buying it:
It can be a little bit finicky at times, but the sound quality is amazing for the price that it is. It's also VERY durable. I haven't been the kindest to it, and have dropped it many many times over the years, and it's still doesn't even have the slightest dent/crack in it. I did have to replace the original usb cable it came with after about two/three years of use, though.
I've used it with Cubase, Ableton Live, and currently with ProTools. However, I did have to install the program "Asio4ALL" for it to work fully in these programs, though, even though it is a 'plug and play' microphone.
Overall, its a great microphone, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that needs a great quality microphone but isn't ready for a big price tag.

The CAD U37 has to be one of the best budget microphones on the market. Although I had often heard the voices of other individuals through various mics, I found myself most impressed with this particular model. After going through dozens of YouTube videos showcasing the audio quality of their microphones, I decided upon buying this mic.
I've found that the audio quality comes over quite well when speaking to others on Skype calls. For $40, this is a steal. The quality of the microphone is phenomenal. The mic itself isn't large by any means. Running about the average length of a human hand, it is incredibly light and gives off the impression that it had been crafted from durable material.
Personally, I have made great use out of the mic stand that came with the product. The mic stand fits nicely on a flat surface, but there is always the option of removing the mic and placing it on another mic stand if you have one.
The only con that I have for the CAD U37 is that the light on the front of the mic flashes too often. There were occasions in which I had been blinded by the light that flashes through the mic. I eventually learned to ignore it, but the problem can easily be solved by covering it with a strip of duct-tape. Overall, it is a fantastic mic that will give you a bang for your buck.

Excellent mic to get started. In these pictures is an added feature, if you haven't found it already... Aside the mic stand that comes with it, you might ask yourself the question: "Where's the screw on feature to put the shock mount that comes in the packaging onto a Standard Tripod Boom Mic Stand?"
Ah Ha! Your answer is within these pictures... May your investment be well-informed towards a great decision to purchase, if you have not. Enjoy!

Worked great when I first got it while occasionally messing up and for whatever reason it would randomly amplify background noise while recording, but unplugging and plugging it back in usually fixed it. The problems gotten worse however, it doesnt seem to resolve it anymore and mostly just records constant background noise. I don't know what happened, it recorded so nicely when I first got it, too.

I had my aunt order this for me last year, and for the most part. I'm pleased with my purchase. I love to sing, so that's what I used the mic for. It's not the best microphone out there but it sure is better than my lap top's recorder!!! Here's a very brief video of how the microphone sounds: It's less than two minutes.

I am using this mic to record my voice for YouTube videos and I could not be any more happier!

I loved it! Performed as expected! I attached an audio. Recorded using Audacity. Came super clean without any editing.

Havent figured out how well this mic is right for me since my computer equipment is next to a humming refrigerator. I'll let yknow how i feel when I get my vocal booth set up.

This is an excellent, well designed, super quality low-priced mic, with an unusually long USB cord for ease of placement. Pairs instantly and easily with MacOS. Highly recommend. I've been using this mic daily for making youtube product reviews, a clear step up from just your computer's built in recording mic input. Listen to the product review and listen closely to the difference! The only down sides are an obnoxiously large and bright rapid-blinking blue LED to indicate the mic is being used to capture audio.

Really can't beat it for the price. The body feels a bit cheap compared to metal microphones but still amazing.

If you want something that is cheap and reliable, then this is the perfect product for you. Now don't let my ratings fully effect your decision on buy this item.
Shipping: Fast Shipping
Quality: It feels good. The Microphone is good for people who want to shout cast or commentary's.
Pros: Good Microphone quality
Doesn't feel cheap
Cons: Depending on what system you are using the Microphone for Windows: stereo Mac Mono
Picks up too much background noise
The distance of the microphone to your mouth is heavily depended on
If you peak, the rest of the recording will sound like you are peaking

All I can say here is great microphone. Reduces all background noise and with the pop filter, it makes for an amazing production environment. No reason to spend the big bucks with quality products like this out there. See my demo below for how the sound quality is.

This is actually a very good microphone.
Pros:
Its small and light
It comes with a very long wire
Looks good
Sounds perfectly clear
Cons:
Picks up any and all background noise if not adjusted (If adjusted the most it will pick up is a loud mouse clicking)
Plastic shell, Which isnt really a problem
No headphones slot (Mainly bad for podcasters)
No on/off switch
Other than that, I see nothing wrong with this microphone. All you have to do is turn the "levels" bar down to about 45 and you should be good. If you dont know how to do this, (On Windows 8) You right click the speaker on the bottom right of your screen, Click "Recording Devices", Click "Microphone: C-Media USB Audio Device", "Properties", Levels. I record for Youtube gaming commentaries and I use a scissor arm stand to hold the microphone about 3 inches from my face, With a normal talking tone. If you talk too loud into it, It might get a little bit crackly so I wouldnt recommend. Anyways, This is well worth the 60$, and I highly recommend it.

As someone who produces YouTube videos and starting into the world of podcasting I needed a good mic that wasn't going to break the bank. This fit the bill perfectly.
Pros: good sound quality, light weight, no issues with computers recognizing, on mic switches for gain, comes with stand, folds small, inexpensive, metal grill over mic
Cons: plastic body, the adapter that attached mic to stand is kinda flimsy,
Last thought: if I needed a multi mic set up or had a friend looking for a mic I would absolutely recommend this to them. It's a great microphone until you're ready for an upgrade or your needs change.

this mic is awesome. for the price (45 what i paid), its really hard to beat.
best settings i found for this is using audacity, mic level (about 50%) and keeping the ACG setting on. If you turn it off, it will stop picking up so many other sounds thanks to when its enabled, its super sensitive, but your recordings will be low in volume. You can compensate by increasing the mic sensitivity in say, Audacity to like 70 or 80 %, but for me, keeping ACG on and turning down the sensitivity in Audacity works for me anyway. i kept both the switches on this mic in the left position (off).
the blue light is blinding, but can easily be fixed with some electrical tape.
i custom painted mine to match my foam ball pop cover, used an acrylic marker to just paint it. took the covers off beforehand, they come right after taking out a screw. looks cool in my opinion, wasn't too fond of the gold.
also used some cable sleeving to sleeve the usb cable cause im OCD that way lol.
anyway, this is an awesome mic for the price, saved me a couple hundred from looking into the more pricey ones.
boom!

I'll let the video review speak for itself. ****WARNING: 2:53 in the video my voice get's extremely loud, please turn down the audio in case.****
To start things off this mic is miles ahead better than my previous Turtle Beach Px 22's mic. It was always muffled, you could hear alot of background noise, fan spinning, laptop fan, anything to make noise you'd hear it. With this mic you can cut almost all of this off and have minimal background noise once optimized on your computer.

Clearly, most of these reviews are of people on a budget... however, you'd be surprised by the quality the CAD u37 packs. I got it in the color: (Champagne) and I'm pleased by the sleek soft-touch finish. But you're probably reading this for the quality rather than looks, so I'll just skip ahead. The CAD u37 sounds the best with the 10db pad switched to -10 and the "Bass Roll-off" switch disengaged. For a "Recording Microphone" it has surprisingly low background noise. It captures your voice quite well, and the sound you hear is quite pleasing. I have used this on my Windows 7 and Playstation 4, it works well for YouTube recording and or pod-casting. It's amazing for Skype and PSN... All and all it is a great mic for anyone who wants to record gameplay, or just talk to friends! Would buy again.

Great mic to step up in quality from a cheapo headset mic. Even though this is an entry level mic, it is a great value for the price. If you are looking to start a podcast this is the perfect mic without breaking the bank.
Unfortunately there is a big time delay when wanting to monitor the mic with headphones. If you need to monitor yourself, buy a mic that plugs straight into the mic jack and not the USB port. I took off one star for this.
Personally I don't need a monitor myself when recording so this mic fits my needs well. I thought I'd mention it though.
UPDATE: I built out a little nook in my closet with some acoustic foam. This mic records even more great now!!! This is a fantastic mic to get in to recording voice or youtube videos.

I've been using this mic for quite awhile for video reviews on PC and as well for the PS3 system and it's quality is amazing.
On the PlayStation 3 system, It really sounds kind of robotic, like there's two voices merging together.. but on the other hand, it's clear and better then a bluetooth mic or common usb microphones. No one has problems hearing me on the other end on the PS3.
Also it's the first time this product was tested on the PS3 and i would recommend putting the microphone level at 1 and be 7"-10" away from the studio mic for best results.

Well built mic for the Money. Up and running on my Win 8.1 laptop in under 60 seconds using Audacity. The microphone has solid heft and build quality. The included desktop microphone stand is chunky and of similarly good build quality.
The cardioid design does a great job and eliminating background noise.
Antonio
Don't care about my terrible English and my horror voice, this was made on Adobe audition 1.5, only reverb, no noise cancellation!! My opinion About this mic is the best, for the price this piece rocks!! i love it;
EricTJ
I haven't had a chance to test the mic yet, but I trust the good reviews here. Regarding the stand, it is badly designed and pretty unstable. It's designed to fold up flat for easy transportation, which it does well and becomes rather compact, and although the plastic is pretty sturdy feeling it is not very stable. A light push would knock over the mic.
The stem is metal and 3/8 inch thread, so it's too skinny for my pop filter to get a good grip on it. the filter's clamp won't even tighten enough to hold on to the stem. If you plan to use the mount on another stand it will need to be 3/8 also. The mount looks pretty solid itself. It would allow you to swing the mic back so it is inverted an would reduce the height of the whole setup for storage purposes, but I wouldn't use this mount on a floor based mic stand or anything that is not on a rigid base and vertical post.
Also note that this stand will give you no isolation from vibrations from the surface it is sitting on.
Buy it for the mic and get a better stand. I intend to order these:
On Stage DS7200B Adjustable Desk Microphone Stand, Black
and On Stage MY410 Studio Microphone Shock Mount, Champagne
It looks like the shock mount will hold this size mic with a little padding inserted, and the mount looks like it will fit on the stand.
Minus one star because of the stand, which alone I would give one star. The mic probably deserves five stars.
UPDATE: I received the above mentioned stand and shock mount and they do indeed fit each other and are made by the same company. The mic fits in the mount very nicely without any padding, and my pop filter clamps to the stand stem just right. Very nice looking set up, and very stable.

A short voiceover test using the CAD U37 through Sony Sound Forge. This is a well made product and, in my opinion, all the microphone most non-professionals will ever need.
emily
I plugged it in and it worked. No drivers or firmware to deal with (OSX).
I was expecting terrible lag since this is a USB mic, but its very reasonable- its like hearing a little reverb. I can monitor my live voice and not get confused from hearing the delay. This is much better than I was expecting- after seeing youtube videos with up to a half second delay for USB mics.
Fit and finish materials are pretty good. The sound has been great for my purposes- which are screen casting and a lot of VoIP.
I'm not a fan of the blue status light. It blinks on the mic when its an active input source. Since this is a side-address mic, it blinks right back in your face. Its fairly bright too. I will be covering it up with electrical tape soon. Background ambient noise has not been an issue, but I am not using the included stand. Instead I have a homemade scissor arm & shockmount.
The base/stand attachment is very similar to the RHODE Podcaster. They may share manufacturing internals.
