These books are truly unbelievable! My son was having a hard time piecing together what he learned in kindergarten into reading actual books. These changed EVERYTHING. They are aligned with school standards and are meticulously designed used current research and best practices. BUT what makes them the best over any other similar product is that they have a meaningful, intriguing plot. My son went from avoiding books to begging to read these to our dog to teach her how to chase bugs (like in Run Pug) and telling her not to knock pots off the counter (like in “The pot”). He reads these with confidence and is almost ready for the next step, which is unbelievable when you see how he started. His teachers remarked on how much he had improved! Can’t recommend enough!!

These books are an absolute must have for any one helping young children learn to read! As a K-2 Reading Interventionist and Instructional Coach, I can’t say enough great things about these decodable books. They are perfect for parents and caregivers! Author Brooke Vitale includes so many additional Science of Reading based activities to extend your small group instruction or to help guide you through best practices in teaching young children to read.
In addition to the fantastic decodable sentences and additional included literacy activities, the adorable illustrations by Katarina Jansinska help to reinforce reading comprehension and allow for adults to easily elicit inferences from the reader.
