Product only turns on. Nothing else. Description stated that there was just a box damaged. The camera does not function in any way.

Had this a little over a year and it recently started constantly taking pictures. You cannot access videos or pictures while using CarPlay with this dash camera.

The camera worked for maybe a year and a half before it completely stopped working. Will load up the loading screen and wont go any further. For being almost $200 it should last much longer than that. I called the company and their warnty only covers 1 year. How convenient. I will never be buying from this company again. Might as well buy a cheap one and replace it yearly then.

la calidad de equipo impresionante, pero la montura de la cámara se nos rompió y no tiene ni un mes de uso, entonces no se si logre volverla a colocar en el carro, es una pena=(

It was nice while it worked and I didn’t even really have issues with the app like other reviews on here but after a few months it stopped working. For $180 I’d hope to get a few years at least lol

I am an Uber driver this is what I use it for! My job! Duh!

This dash cam has great and clear video and photo quality, performs about average with it’s line of devices, however, is just okay.
This Cobra™ Dual-Camera dish cam didn’t wow me, but isn’t horrible either. It gets the job done, recording the driver’s front view and car’s cabin view, with clear and sharp video. Feature set on this device wasn’t superb, nor new-to-market, but it’s long list of customizable settings was refreshing.
Overall, this buy fit my needs, without braking the bank, however, it would be hard to recommend this product to friends and family, due to the forgettable performance, which has shown to be buggy at times, requiring a restart to become correctly functioning again. NOT IMPRESSED.

It worked for a week
Now when Park the car it goes into “parking mode” but it freezes when the countdown gets to 1 and the only way to get it to work is to unplug the cable from the power supply and it works for about 2-3 minutes and it freezes again.
I have changed the setting to every possible configuration I have reseted to factory settings I have done the update I have tried everything.
I have a SC 200D that I purchased at the same time, it works like a charm no issues the screen is bigger and easier to manipulate.
On the SC201 the double sided tape what comes with is completely useless, it did not hold the heat, keep in mind I have 20% window tint on the vehicle.
On the SC 200D the double sided tape is much better it holds without issues and it can stand the heat I use it in a semi with no window tint at all.
I’m purchasing another SC 200D to replace the SC201 in my personal vehicle.
Bottom line: the SC201 is useless and not worth the money.

Installed and worked fine for a week. Turned on the car today and it won't go past the boot screen. Makes the chime noise and gets stuck on the cobra image screen. Can't use at all. Returned and got a replacement. Will update if the new one lasts more that a week.
Edit: so I've had for a while now.. only complaint with the replacement unit is the app.. the app is trash. Cant use at all, never connects to the camera, can't review recordings, it's useless. The camera itself has done ok so far. Will occasionally freeze up for no reason, but a reset with the tiny button fixes it.
Conclusion, it's a little too pricey for it to be so buggy all the time. Expected more from a name brand like Cobra.

Now that I have a dash cam, I wonder why I never got one sooner.
This Cobra Smart Dash Cam (SC 201) starts recording when powered on, Records both the front facing camera and the interior camera, and provides VERY CLEAR video quality.
INSTALL
I peeled off the cover on the sticky tape and placed the camera on my windshield. It adhered nicely. Then I plugged in the USB cable and ran it along the center console to the cigarette lighter in my back seat. As you can see from the photos, I placed the camera lower than suggested because I didn't want a wire hanging down the middle of my windshield. My car did not have a cigarette lighter the front compartment. An alternative would be to get your own USB to USB cable, matching what you have in your car if you wanted to plug it in, in the front. In my case, it tucked under the console perfectly.
RECORDING
When the car is turned on, the power to the dash cam is on and it starts recording. You can choose the resolution and if you want to record audio. It records BOTH the INTERIOR and EXTERIOR camera at a length go time you specify. I chose THREE MINUTES. When the SD card fills up, the older recordings are just written over.
REPLAY
I removed the micro SD card and slipped it into an regular size SD card adapter, and then could easily read all the videos. I've uploaded one here for you to see, the MILTON EXIT of 93 NORTH in Mass.
DRIVE SMARTER and iRADAR
I downloaded the DRIVE SMARTER and iRADAR apps to my iPhone, created an account, and connected the dash cam. When I try to connect to the dash cam's WiFi I am getting an error. A review of these apps will come later after I get some customer support to figure out why I can't connect to the dash cam via the Apps.

I've been wanting a dash cam for a long time but always put off buying one. This dash cam is excellent. It is super easy to set up in your car and just works. The largest time it took me for setup was to figure out where I wanted it on my windshield.
The video quality is good and I like that it also records audio inside of my car.
I had issues using the app with this camera. The app keeps losing connection to the camera and I'm not able to update the firmware with it. Luckily, there is a cable to connect it to your computer so you can update the firmware there.
Some cool features about this dash cam I didn't realize existed before it was installed and I was driving with it:
+ Has lane departure warning visually and with a beep noise
+ I think it's also alerting me whenever I'm being radar gunned or there's a speed camera nearby because there's a wifi symbol with a beeping warning that sometimes appears.
+ You can replace the included SD card with a larger one so it will hold on to more recordings before overwriting the older files

I have had the opportunity to review a few dash cams and this one provides a nice balance of quality, convenience, and affordability.
Installation:
-There really isn’t much you have to do to install this camera in your car. Just attach the adhesive mount, find a good place, and plug it into your cigarette lighter. The cord was long enough to run up the windshield, over to the passenger door (i tucked the cord into the weather stripping to hide it), under the glove box, and up to the middle console of my mid-sized SUV. I installed mine just below the rear view mirror so that most of the camera is hidden, but the rear facing camera is not obstructed. While you can adjust the camera tilt after it’s installed, you can’t move it left or right, so choose carefully.
Set-up/App:
Setting up the camera and app only took a few minutes to do. It walks you through the process and you just have to set basic settings. It is easy to connect to wifi and download any pictures or videos that you want. You can go to their website, which provides more details than the quick guide provided in the box, but if you just plan to use basic features, the quick guide is good enough. There are a few voice commands which is nifty when you see something suddenly while driving if you want to take a picture hands free.
Quality:
-Overall, I think the quality of pictures and videos is great. If you use both cameras, the quality of the video drops to reduce the amount of space it takes up on the card. You can insert a larger microsd card if you want to store more video, otherwise it will continually rewrite over itself. The 16 GB card that comes with this was good enough for me. It performs well in the dark, and you are able to still read any signs or license plates if they are lit up.
Overall:
-I have now owned 5 dash cams in my life. To be honest, other than for review purposes, I have never found that I needed to pull video or photos off the camera since I have never been in an accident. It’s fun to play with for the first week and then you lose interest. Overall, I just like to have one for security purposes in case anything were to ever happen. This dashcam is a happy balance of quality and convenience at a decent price. I would definitely recommend it. If $180 could save me thousands of dollars in the case of an accident, it is money well spent

Finding the right dash camera with all the selection out there today can be daunting so I'll tell you our experience and why we chose the SC 201 from Cobra. I also added some unboxing images bc that's important to me. Shape/Size, video quality, forward facing and in cab facing, and brand recognition were key factors when making our decision. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes out there now. A small sleek profile that doesn't block visibility was step one. Next we wanted HD/clear video quality 1080P bc what's the use if you can't make anything out clearly if and when we ever wanted to share for fun or when we actually needed it. We have young kids and if you do, you know the best things that ever come out of their mouths are in the car.. When else are we all in one place together without electronic distraction and have time for conversation... Lastly, we couldn't pronounce half the brands out there let alone trust the ones we could and have never heard of. My husband has had Cobra CB's in his trucks over the years and has their marine radios on our boat. Never had issues so we started and ultimately ended here because they have been around for ever and no reason why they wont be for a ling time. Also we found they have every applicable type or use case dash cam you could want.
Product itself came with everything we needed including the SD card. We are happy with the size (I'll update with the mounting location in our truck later) and the mounting bracket provides flexibility and is small when you don't have the camera mounted. First couple trips around town and really pleased (actually surprised) on the quality of the video. Has already provided mediation in a dispute, which I won, and for the record after reviewing the tape HE was supposed to defrost the fish for dinner that night.. :)
