Good Device, but Limited Free App and Poor Transcription Quality

The device itself is good, and I’m currently using the free version of the app. My son has a Plaud, and the sound quality on this device is okay-ish in comparison to his.

However, I keep seeing a message in the app that says, “You’ve reached your free abstract limit.” What exactly does this mean? I haven’t been able to find any documentation explaining it.

The transcription quality is quite poor, although the AI-generated summaries are surprisingly accurate and capture the main points well. It would also be helpful if the app offered pre made or customizable templates to format transcripts for different purposes. It’s expensive for what it is used for, which is a glorified recorder. I don’t know if this would be useful in a classroom or lecture hall in comparison to my Olympus Digital Voice Recorder that is a USB.

I’m very impressed with the Comulytic Note Pro. It’s compact, easy to use, and the transcription and AI summaries are extremely helpful for meetings and conversations. I especially appreciate the unlimited basic transcription and summarization without having to pay a monthly subscription. The battery life is excellent, and reviewing important points afterward saves me a tremendous amount of time. Overall, this is a very useful productivity tool and one I would definitely recommend.

This is an amazing note taker! The AI program in the app you will use for this machine is just amazing! It is one of the best at transcribing and summarizing devices that I have tried.

First, you will need to download an App to turn off, store your recordings and use the transcription and other services. This product is designed and managed in the USA. The App itself is an experience in my opinion! Once you download the app and link your machine the AI assistant asks you your name and helps you set up and get started. It is just brilliant as far as I am concerned! You will use the app for all the functions and once I played with it it was easy to navigate. The transcription is great, it is very accurate. You can also list peoples names with their voices so when it does the written transcription it can use the person's name as opposed to "Speaker 1".

Second, the machine. It is small, lightweight and easy to use. One of the best features that I love the most is that you can pause the recording and restart it keeping your thoughts or lecture or meeting all on one recording. Once you stop the recording it will download the audio file into the App. From there you open the recording and you can transcribe the entire recording and you can summarize the audio file. For the free version you can do a basic transcript but there is also a paid subscription that will do more of a deep dive. In the transcription there is an AI button and it will give you suggestions for follow up or you can use it to ask AI a question. There are credits for AI use and the free version gives you 500 each month and for a monthly subscription you will have more available (the credits do not roll over, its a use or loose on the AI credits). You can find how many credits you have remaining under the "Me" button at the bottom of the screen. This is also where you can upgrade your plan if you are using this voice recorder more, you will need to upgrade. It does tell you what AI models it uses here.

It also has a function to create slides. When you ask it to create slides it will ask your goal or who you are presenting to, then it will have templates to choose from, and the sizes it offers are 16:9 or 4:3. Once created you can transfer them via Airdrop to your computer and edit them directly in Canva or any other program that allows editing of slides. I have included the 8 slides it created from the review notes I gave it on this machine so you can see what it creates. I did not alter anything, it added the pictures itself. I have done a couple of other slides and this was the only one that added pictures (I never asked for pictures in any slides, but clearly it knew I was talking about this machine!).

I just cannot say enough about what this recorder can do and produce. I have run out of credits so I can no longer do the slide show but it still transcribes and it did a summary for me. If you want to do anything else such as write an email, make slides you will need to upgrade to a plan (once you run out of credits and there are some functions that do require a subscription). Also when you use the AI functions, it will ask you which platform you want to use (some examples Claude Opus 4.7, Claude Opus 4.8, GPT- 5.6) and it will tell you the level of credits it will use.

Overall: I love this machine and I think it is totally worth the price and if I were to use it a lot I would get one of the plans as it does a really nice job. The only thing I do not like about the machine I have is that I have to turn the machine off through the App, there seems to be no way to turn the one I have off otherwise. But honastly, that would not deter me at all from highly recommending this.

I have to admit that I am impressed with this device. But after going over the manual and the app and the support, I still have questions on functionality.

First, it is easy to activate (I only used the free applications). The carry pocket is nice and snug and keeps the recorder safe and secure. The battery seems to last a significant amount of time.

For recording it is pretty good especially when the device is out in the open and does a good job on the transcript and summary. As with all voice to text not every word is accurate - grill became kill, Audie became Ali, etc.

The microphone on this is crazy sensitive. Recorded a 7 minute phone call where we discussed weatherproofing the sliding door and plans for the weekend and the summary came up with weatherproofing and terrorism (the other person had a news channel on in the background while they where talking. Thought I turned it off when I set it down in the next room but it was still recording and did a wild job listening in our conversation in the next room and the transcription was partially right and comical when it couldn't hear clearly and made stuff up. I tried to record a conversation while getting an in office procedure from my doctor (he authorized the recording) - the transcription was way out in left field (the medical terms used by the doctor were replaced with other words having nothing to do with the medical field.

I could only turn it off the device in the app once I turned it on. I had transcriptions vanish without deleting them.

Overall, using it out in the open for recording and transcription - this device works great. Recording phone conversations, this device is good (better if there is no background audio. I like it but the voice to text portion does leave a bit to be desired as I use if for medical and technical conversations.

This is my second Comulytic Note Pro AI Voice Recorder. I plan to gift it to my grandson, who just started his sophomore year of college. I have used my Note Pro almost every day since December 2025. My transcriptions and summaries have been accurate, and the summaries have saved time when creating bullet points for my email and other correspondence.

This AI note taker arrived beautifully packaged, in a retail box worthy of a certain fruity computer company. The recorder comes with a leather-like Mag Safe case, a proprietary magnetic USB charging cable, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, two adhesive Mag Safe rings, a quick-start guide, and a warranty booklet. The recorder does, of course, require that you install and app on your phone.

On launching the app, I was required to create an account, and to give the app access to all nearby Bluetooth devices, which my phone warned me is a security risk. Next the app updated the firmware on the device, and then had me set up a voice profile. Exploring the app, I discovered that I’m apparently permitted only very limited use of the AI features, though I can pay monthly for more access ($120-$360 annually).

Finally, a recorder that gets out of my way

I absolutely love this little recorder.

It is so small and thin that I can carry it everywhere, and the one-tap recording is exactly what I wanted. So many devices like this seem determined to turn a simple task into a multi-step process. This one just lets me record the thought before the thought disappears.

The free unlimited AI transcription is a huge advantage for me. I normally have to move recordings into a separate tool to get them transcribed, so having that built in removes an entire step from my writing process.

I get some of my best writing ideas while I’m walking or out and about, and I’ve relied on phone voice memos for years. This feels like a much better solution: a dedicated device that is always ready, easy to use, and can turn my spoken thoughts into text afterward.

And I’m ridiculously pleased that it comes in orange. I own enough black and silver remotes, battery packs, and gadgets to outfit a small electronics store. The orange one I can actually find. 😂

It costs more than some basic recorders, but the AI features and included transcription make the extra cost worthwhile for me.

Excellent AI Recorder - No Required Monthly Subscription

The Comulytic Note Pro is a really polished AI voice recorder that packs a surprising amount of functionality into a very compact device. The slim aluminum design looks premium and professional, and the small size makes it extremely portable for meetings, calls, conferences, or travel.

The quality is impressive, from the aluminum body and Gorilla Glass display to the triple microphone setup. Recording quality is clear, which is especially important because the quality of the original audio has a direct impact on transcription accuracy.

So far, I'm very impressed with this AI voice recorder. This is my 2nd one and they both function as intended. They are much smaller and thinner than I expected, which makes them easy to carry around without adding bulk. One feature I especially like is the leather MagSafe-style attachment. It works very well. Magnets are perfect on my phone WHEN the case is ON. I use it for meetings and the classroom. The mic does have room to pick up voices more clearly. They could have actually put four speakers at the top instead of two. But it still does the job! The best part is the unlimited transcription and no subscription needed! Exactly why I bought this product in the first place and why its the best!

A Pocket Assistant for My Small Business

This is a very handy item for me, as I own a small business and have frequent supplier and client calls, trainings, and in-person conversations. I love how the summary is broken down into simple, intuitive sections: transcript, summary, and insights (insights are limited each month on the free plan, so use them wisely). It's small and comes with a handy magnetized card holder for the back of your phone which holds the card securely in place, a charging cable (don't lose it, it's a unique one), a USB-C adapter, and an adhesive magnet for your phone if needed. I had an issue once, and Comulytic sent me a replacement quickly and at no cost, great customer service! For the cost, it's like having an assistant in your pocket.

Great for notetaking

This is a fantastic AI recorder. I used it during a job search to help coach me on interviews. Now I use it in my daily life. It's easier than having to take notes. I can pay attention to people I'm talking to.

Great hardware. Software needs work.

Product is fine. The actual voice recorder is really thin and seems very well made. On the surface it does exactly what it says it will do. Unfortunately there's no way to (1) bulk export messages (2) get rid of the generate summary option even though I dont want to pay for the extra subscription... effectively always just an ad almost for the paid tier. I just wanted a pure transcription where I didnt need to worry about a service - only reason to go for this over other brands.

Works Well-Interesting Device

Okay, I have used the Comulytic over the past month for several meetings that I have attended for various volunteer groups and one political group in order to verify what the "next actions" were for myself. Keeping track of my own personal commitments from attending meetings has always been difficult and this makes it much easier for me.

I place the device in my shirt pocket (actually within a pocket protector) instead of attached to my phone. I turn the device on just before leaving my vehicle and entering the venue. Remembering to turn it off after the meeting has been a problem.

The app works well with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and the recording is not bad, considering my meetings are held in areas that are NOT acoustically perfect.

The "Premium" subscription plan comes with the device and is good for about six months. After that, the "Annual Plan" is $10 per month (billed annually at $119.99) while the "Monthly Plan" is $14.99 per month.

Whether I'll continue with a pay plan is not certain at this time. I am retired and no longer attend many boring meetings a month. If I was still working, I would most definitely use a pay plan of some sort.

If you are employed and attend business meetings, this is a device you should consider for your personal well-being at work. Keeping track of one's commitments is very important in the business world.

App could use some work

This thing is great. The battery lasts forever. You can probably leave it on for weeks or months without recharging it if it's on standby. The battery lasts a long time even if it is in use. The charging is also super quick. You can charge this thing to full in maybe 30 minutes or less. It comes with a magsafe holder. It's kind of hard to take this device out of the case. It's a tight fit. It comes with its own charging cable. One end is USB-A and the other end is a special magnetic 4 prong connector made just for the device.

Recording capacity: 10/10

You can record a lot with this thing. Hours for sure. I haven't gotten anywhere near filling it up.

Battery: 10/10

This thing lasts for hours if you're recording. If it's on standby with the screen off, it drains less than 1% battery a day.

Recording quality: 7/10

It isn't the clearest in terms of recording quality, but it is good enough for voice recording.

App: 6/10

The app needs work. It's okay because it's simple, but the AI isn't that great. You need an account to use it. Sometimes it doesn't pick up the right language, even though it supports other languages. You can set the language yourself if you want. If you leave it on auto, it might not pick the language you want.

Value: I think it is somewhat worth the money. It is super slim and compact. It works with magsafe so it sticks to your phone. The build quality of the product is very high. It is made of metal. It feels solid to hold.

Overall, I would recommend it if you want a product that looks like this. I would pick something else if you just want a recorder.

A Powerful Solution for Slow Note Takers with Clear Transcriptions and Fast Summaries

This AI voice recorder has been a huge help for me. I am very slow and honestly not great at taking notes, especially during Zoom meetings. Even when slides are provided, there are always extra details that need to be written down. I was not sure how it would turn out since sometimes the voices can be unclear, but it completely exceeded my expectations.

The first time I used it was during an online training session. I assumed it would just produce a rough text transcript, but within minutes after the meeting ended, the file appeared in the app. It was not a mess of words. It was clear, readable, and understandable. It provided a helpful summary with key insights, which felt incredible. It made me think about all the times in school when I struggled to write everything down. Having something like this back then would have made such a difference.

The device itself is extremely easy to use. One press of the button starts the recording, and 2 presses stop it. It is also very thin and lightweight. It comes with a magnetic holder for my phone, so I can carry it anywhere. That makes it practical for both online and in person meetings. I tested it in my car while talking with my significant other, and it captured our conversation very clearly and neatly. I will see how it performs at our big in person office meeting.

It supports multiple languages, but you do need to preset the language before you start. If a different language is spoken during the recording, it will not capture that part. That is something I wish it could pick up automatically.

It is also super easy to forward and share the voice and text files from the app, and there are multiple file formats available. That makes it very convenient for saving and distributing notes. It is truly amazing.

Recharging the device is simple and convenient with the included cable, and overall the performance has been very impressive. For someone like me who struggles with note taking, this has made meetings far less stressful and far more productive. I know some of our staff use online subscriptions to take notes, but this is much better since it is independent and a one time cost.

Very cool little tool

I was a bit confused to how this worked at first. I've never seen anything like it. It's pretty small and thin. So doesn't take up much space. Fits in your hand. Once you download the app, set up an account and then you're ready to use it. Turn on Bluetooth and connect it. You can talk into it, record phone calls, have a conversation with yourself, or whatever really and it will save that conversation. Then you can generate it. AI will pull the most important notes from the conversation and help you see what was said and what your plan is, etc. It's really unique actually. I can see this being very useful. You can attach this to your phone or just have it on you and when you need to use it, push the button on it to start recording. As long as the Bluetooth is on. Pretty simple. I really like this little AI recorder.
