This is actually my second dash cam with this company I love it I love that it links to the phone I love that it records to the phone as well and I love that when you disconnect from the phone you still see the feed on the actual little mini screen and the way I put it up there you can see that you can make you can make make it yours the only thing I do wish is the color of the cord would be different maybe they can make the color of the cords like you know specific to the color of the roof so that way it could match but other than that it's not bad I love it

Not as good as I wanted.

Unable to read the license plate of the vehicle that just hit my car from the video.

(PSA, if you ever have someone hit your car etc, always SAY the license plate number out loud for your cameras mic to record 👍)

- TERRIBLE APP CONNECTIVITY -

Spent 40 minutes just trying to download from the camera to the phone (COOAU Dash app) and when it finally & luckily did after maaaaaaaaaany failed/dropped connections and almost 100% downloads, it only saved (Shared) a 15 second clip to the phone's photo album.

Just got home, attached camera to the PC. The files are accessible and viewable.

If you're wanting to show the police some video at an accident, well, I had a bad experience with this setup.

Great dash cam -- easy upgrade

This is my 3rd COOAU dashcam. They are great quality, affordable, easy to operate, and easy to install. The D30S has an useful suction cup mount that does away with the 3M tape, so it's easy to move around to get the best angle. The screen and video quality is great, too. The app is user-friendly and connects my phone to the dashcam to access videos and settings. I've had it installed for about 2 weeks now, and have had no issues.

I upgrade this unit from an older COOAU model, and it took me less than 5 minutes. I was able to use the existing power cable and once I mounted it to the windshield, I just connected it to the existing app on my phone. Simple!

We started using dashcams for our safety. We like the peace of mind they provide us.

Nice Dash Cam for the money.

When I purchased this dash-cam, I wasn’t expecting much. However, it was very easy to setup and install. I was also impressed by the picture and video quality. The only negative I have is that the screen could be a little larger and the video takes very long to download. Either than that, I would recommend purchasing this dash cam.

Great 4K Dash Cam, Excellent Quality

I’m extremely impressed with this 4K dash cam. The video quality is crystal clear, both during the day and at night. It records in a continuous loop and it automatically records and saves footage when there is an incident. The details are sharp enough to clearly capture license plates and road signs. It was easy to install and very user friendly. I feel much more confident driving knowing everything is recorded in such high resolution. Highly recommend!

Awesome dashcam!

Very Hi-tech and great images and video.Blows away my previous dashcam.

Nice dash camera

Camera recordings are clear and provides a forward and rear view from the front window. Easy to install in the vehicle and I currently have a microSD card inserted in it and can pull the video at any time. Build seems to be solid and the wires are easily hidden in the rubber window seals. So far this is a very good buy.

Solid purchase

This is a great Dash Cam. Installation was super easy, video quality seems perfect and the memory card has plenty of space. I really like the speedometer feature and the geo- coordinates. It’s a solid dash cam and I am happy with the great purchase so far. I wish it had a rear-view cam too.

Don’t waste your money

The camera works for the most part, but when you start the vehicle up, the camera comes on, but the screen goes black. I didn’t have to unplug the camera and plug it back in and press one of the four buttons to get it to actually turn on and start working.

DONT BUY

I’ve been using this for only about 4/5 months and i’m really disappointed. First off the suction wears off so it doesn’t stay on and falls down while driving. The front camera no longer works and when turned on it’s just green, black and glitchy. It will randomly turn off and on while recording. Connecting to the wifi is super funky and most times doesn't work .Put your money towards another one.

Awesome Product for an Amazing price!

As they say first impression is the last..., my first impression was the packaging of the product which is very good...,it shows integrity as corners are not cut for sure. 👍🏼

The product (camera) itself is also good very good in quality, pretty sturdy, the design, the size of it is perfect, will give discreet look and won't be a sore for the eye right in front of you, which is a huge plus point for me.

Will get it properly installed and share pics and videos too but initial testing gave some amazing results.

Will surely keep using it for a long time.

All the way 5-Stars indeed.

Good Quality, Easy to use

My boy recommended this dash cam, I’ve have not owned one before. It’s well built, easy to use and price was reasonable. I wished they’d include the adhesive mount (I prefer not to mount anything on my windshield). Not a deal breaker tho. I’ll definitely buy a couple more for my other vehicles.

Update. The company is good to work with. They made it right with me. Therefore I would rate them 5 stars.

I like how clear the pictures are. I didn’t use the full attachment that came with it. I bought a separate unit to hook on windshield, that I love.

I do get the photos & videos on the app. But what I don’t like, is the fact that you can’t access them, once the camera off. So just access them before turning your camera off.

But for the price, you can’t beat this. Especially how clear the camera pictures are.

NOT plug and play - But easy to troubleshoot

If you want something ready to use this is NOT it. It needs a very specific SD card and it has to be formatted to work with this camera. I’m replacing something that came ready to use and was super user friendly but it’s now old and needs to be replaced. I’ll come back and update the rating when I get around to buying and formatting before I even get to install this dash cam. Very disappointing.

Edit/Update: The company reached out to me, their customer service is amazing, went above and beyond and helped me thru my issues. The dash cam works great and was easy to work. Honestly I’ve never seen such great customer service. I ended up using the old SD card which worked fine with the new dash cam. Love it!

Great quality

Stopped working

Update not even a year later and the new stopped working. I just give up with this product.

Update: seller contacted me after seeing my video and immediately sent out a replacement. I received the replacement within a couple of days. New dashcam is working great. Amazing quality, great video , and easy to install. Seller definitely went above and beyond to make things right.

I never write a bad review but after trying to work with them and getting no where. I have spent weeks going back and forth, maybe they can now see it that it is not working, I have spent weeks trying to work with seller but I am being passed around with the same request when they know there is no way to send the video to them ,I am not sure what else I can do to prove it is not working.

One of the cool features

Is that that GPS stays on and it displays time and speed in real time, maybe a second behind. I have built in 24 hrs cameras in my car but I wanted something that works and cool.

Best buy with awesome features

The COOAU D30 Dual Dash Cam is an absolute must if you want to protect yourself and your vehicle. It was a great price point so I purchased it specifically for the dual camera functionality, internal picture in picture, GPS, and Wi-Fi capabilities w/app. This is a fine and sturdy camera with an array of cool features and I would highly recommend. The quality of the footage is very clear. One thing to note is the car interior camera can be adjusted, I don’t believe the manual indicated as such. I also recall reading a review which said the Infrared Light feature needed to be turned on manually, which is not the case. The three setup options are on, off, and auto.

Kudos to customer support, they have been great. The communication is prompt and they have even followed up to find out how I am liking the cam. Amber is on point!

ATTENTION: If you plan to hardwire the dash cam to your car PLEASE continue to read as I want to save you time and a grey hair or two because I had to get my 1985 MacGyver on. I couldn’t find a dash cam mount that was long enough to allow the hardwire cable to plug in without being obstructed. For your reference, I have attached and labeled pictures.

• The dash cam uses a MICRO USB cable

• The hardwire kit must be 12-24V Input, 5V 2A output

• The original car cable for the dash cam is an L shape, which fits perfectly with the windshield mount BUT when you purchase a hardwire kit, the cable is straight. Once plugged in, it causes the cable to bend with the original windshield mount and I could only turn the cam sideways to avoid the bend. “Enters MacGyver” - I had to use two different mounting kits in order for the camera placement to be just about perfect on my windshield.

• A slight negative or annoyance more so: To use the Parking Mode feature you MUST turn the Motion Sensor on manually. Where it may get confusing is you must turn the Motion Sensor off before you start driving or it will affect the loop recording. [Trying to remember to turn the motion off when I get in the car and off when I get out will be a challenge]

Overall, it’s definitely worth purchasing.

Everything I Want But Lacks the One Thing I Need

I'll start by saying I really wanted to love this camera. It checks all the boxes of what I look for in a dash cam and has a bunch of cool and useful features - dual HD, GPS, wifi, parking mode, super capacitor, WDR, EV adjustments. It is super light, stylish, takes up to a 128g SD card, has a good microphone and has a pretty nice picture at the price point. Main camera performance at night is alright, nothing super. I did really like the wide angle, especially on the interior camera, as it allows you to see out the side windows as well. I was initially very happy with it!

Unfortunately, as a part-time rideshare driver, I need a camera with great night vision for the interior cabin. The D30 was acceptable when there was at least some ambient light from businesses or street lights but in heavy darkness, the view narrowed down and looked like a parascope or something (see attached picture). This was a huge step down from my 5 year old Blackvue 650s in terms of night vision. Full disclosure, it is possible I received a defective product. Turning on WDR did little to help and setting the EV value to maximum exposure helped but I would have to toggle it back manually during the day or the video would be totally washed out.

There are a few minor drawbacks as well at least in my opinion. If you would prefer your dash cam to be more incognito, this is not really possible with the D30. There are two LEDs (red and blue) that cannot be turned off, but you can at least place black duct tape over them if you want. Unfortunately, the screen does not have an option to be turned completely off. It can only be placed in screensaver mode that displays the speed. COOAU does actually have firmware updates for the camera, but as of July, they did not have them available on their website. You must email support and they will send you the latest firmware. Lastly, sometimes you will encounter a weird issue when you come to a traffic light, certain car tail lights or e-billboards where upon playback, you'll notice an obvious pulsing or flickering of those lights.

All in all, it is a good product for all the features that you get at the price. If it were not for the terrible IR performance, I would probably still be running it. I got a very good buy on the 3-channel Vantrue N4 (an establish brand in dash cameras) and now have that instead. Please comment on this review if your experience with the night vision was different as it may help others.

COOAU Dashcam

COOAU dash cam is a very practical, high quality product with high resolution outside and inside video capture. It's very small so it doesn't block the driver's view in any way. COOAU is easy to use and a must have tool for all who drive a lot and use their vehicle professionally.

Great quality at an unbeatable price

This is my first dash cam and am super pleased with the quality for the price! It’s so small and discreet it blends in well. Only thing is make sure you have an SD card because it does not come with one and you need it in order to save your videos.

Great Video for both Front and Rear Facing Camera!

I like that it has both Front and Cabin (rear) cameras. Today, this is a MUST with so many crazy drivers out on the roads. It also has sound and, so far, the recordings (videos) are very clear. I love this car camera! This is my second dash cam for my car and this camera is one of the best products for the price. It's a must in case of any accidents and disputes! The rear (cabin) one does capture the some rear and side windows which could be used for reference in case an accident isn’t in front. It's easy-to use and set up (manual is included) and the picture quality is great! The camera has WIFI so I can easily check the video with Ficam app and very stable connection. Just Buy It!!!

I've had quite a few dash cams over the years, but this one is now my favorite... Excellent ease of use... Stellar WiFi connectivity... Seamless footage downloading... Amazing day and night picture video quality...

Horrible GPS placement haha... All of my footage shows my traveling taking place in mainland China...

Download Ficam app to easily access and manage your dash cam files and settings. Note: you need to disable your phone Ad aware app if you have one installed since it will not connect.
