Corsair RM850e (2025) Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Solid and reliable PSU with plenty of headroom

I’m using the Corsair RM850e in a workstation with a Ryzen 7 9700X running in 105W mode and an RTX 5060, and it has handled the system flawlessly.

It’s fully modular, which makes cable management much easier, and the 850W capacity provides plenty of headroom for the current setup and future upgrades.

I also like that this newer model uses the Cybenetics certification system, with a Cybenetics Gold efficiency rating, instead of relying only on the traditional 80 PLUS certification.

Overall, a solid, modern, and reliable PSU that should remain suitable for several platform upgrades down the road.

Good PSU

Very intuitive to install, had every cable I needed (12v high power connector), High quality feeling. Only complaint is slight coil whine, but that’s to be expected with any PSU when under high load. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent PSU

Absolutely fantastic, very very high quality, no issues at all on 5800x and rtx5700

High Quality and Compact

High build quality, and the small size makes cable management easy in bigger and smaller cases. The included cables are very nice, and are aesthetically pleasing as oppose to most PSU's. Also very quiet on idle I can't even hear when it turns on under load.

CORSAIR RM1200e (2023) with 12V-2x6 Cable

Muy buena PSU, a pesar de ser ATX 3.0, te trae el adaptador para los nuevos conectores de 12V adoptados por algunas gráficas actuales. En las fotos podrás ver que ciertos conectores les faltan pines, esto me asustó al proincipio, llegué a pensar que estaban dañados pero escribí directamente a Corsair, los cuales me dijeron que era completamente normal, que han hecho ciertas revisiones, prescindiendo de los mismos. Al terminar mi armado de PC, todo funcionó de forma adecuada, sin problemas hasta el día de hoy.

Got sent a USED product when I ordered NEW

This product was mislabeled. I ordered what I thought was a brand new power supply with all the correct components because nowhere in the listing did it say "used" "refurbished" or "like new". When the product arrived the box appeared to have been opened and then re-taped which should have been my first clue that something was wrong. When I began assembling the power supply and trying to connect the cables I realized that I was missing several of the pieces that were advertised to come with the product (cords and zip ties) and instead there were several incorrect cords included that did not fit anywhere in the power supply. I am disappointed in the quality of the product and the amount of time that was wasted trying to make it work.

Recommend, pretty good

Came pretty beat up and damaged

This is the second PSU I ordered within two days that came as opened and used! The box was pretty beat up, wrapped with tape. The top grill is bent. All the cables are tangled together. This is crazy!

Perfect for my Acer Predator Orion RTX 4070 Super

Had a faulty PSU in my prebuild and was scratching my head at to what could be the issue. Upgraded the ram, and applying new thermal paste to the CPU didn’t address the issue. Gave up and assumed it was the 14th gen Intel giving me problems. Nope, upgrading to the Corsair here fixed my issues! Love how modular it is. Before getting this Corsair, I did try out a cheaper alternative. While it did work, the cable management was horrendous and cables were even just a tad too short. Not here, the cables are nice and long, and I don’t need to stuff in a bunch of cables in the tower that arent plugged in anywhere!

I will say the PSU fan does not turn on on low to medium loads. Even during my stress test in 3DMark, it never did come on! This is mentioned on the little sticker. To verify the fan does work, it will spin up briefly at your system boot up every time.

Overall very happy with it, and I feel more comfortable knowing I have a higher quality PSU in my system (Acer Predator Orion RTX 4070 Super).

Replaced DOA

I bought the Shift 1000x and it was DOA, so I ended up replacing it with this 1000e model and it works perfectly fine. Made sure to test it before installing this time around.

Plenty of power

Nice power pack. Keeps it all going not a problem. Having separate wires for all is nice and being included is awesome for this build.

Great PSU

I am a fan of Corsair as a company and many of their products. This PSU is quality and does amazing at providing my tower and components with power.

Two units returned due to coil wine.

They may provide power, but I tried two units before giving up. They both had horrible coil wine. I would assumed the first one was defective but the second had an even higher pitched coil wine.

Under full load the pitch become less present, but I can still hear it when the fan kicks out. It seems loud than the fans are in the first place.

Ended up switching to another name brand.

Good product

It’s just me you know I have a big case and need cable extension for that. The cable is hard but in a good way. Yeah I have no problem with it.

Works great, super quiet.

Package was delivered damaged which takes off two stars to the rating.

Luckily the PSU itself wasn't damaged.

QC/QA Seems Lacking

One of the wires for the main motherboard power cable was not stripped and crimped properly.

Corsair sent me an used item and isn't even working

I'm more than dissatisfied with Corsair.

Damaged cables!!!

PSU came intact, couldn’t say the same for the cables.

First DOA. Replacement died as well

I've now been without a computer for a month now since the first shipment was DOA and the replacement worked for 1 week then died as well. I confirmed this with a known good psu. Will give lights and fans power but never boots. I beleive this to be from shipping in original packaging and being beat up. Why it wasn't protected is beyond me. Your mileage may vary as seen by the other reviews but I'm disappointed and frustrated after spending a good amount of money and being left without a computer.
