I use this tape measure for checking measurements at a steel fab shop. I was measuring the length of a beam that was 32 ft long and when I pulled to the end, it completely released, coming out of the tape measure housing. I had to throw the tape measure away after only one week of using it.

The measuring tape is heavy duty and looks like it can handle a beating. The metal body is rigid. The stop lever is made of sturdy plastic. The quality exceeded my expectations.
Best thing about the measuring tape however are the numbers. They are HUGE and so easy to read.
I would definitely recommend.

I’m always measuring things around the house for home improvement projects, and a good measuring tape is indispensable. This tape measure is 25 feet and a bit bulky, but it has a lot of capacity and large, easy to read print. It is a little too securely packaged in sealed plastic, I had to be extra careful removing this without bending the clip on the back. Otherwise, this serves its purpose quite well for quickly and easily measuring distances in our rooms, and dimensions of products and of building materials.

Tape measure arrived at my house perfectly. It is clear to read, has a locking mechanism (push down to lock, pull back up to unlock), really nice tape. And then I tried to get it out of the plastic it was packaged, in. I cut, I pulled, it was very thick plastic. And then I noticed that the belt loop turned. Once I got the plastic fully removed, I found I had pulled the screw through the top hole in the beltloop (two screws held it in place). First thing I thought was that it was my fault, not the fault of the tape, I like everything else about it, it can still get 5 stars. But then I realized that everyone would have the same problem I did unpackaging it, and the metal belt loop is designed so you can clip it onto your pants or belt, and often they do get hit when you do that. Had the packaging been easy to remove, I probably would not have noticed this issue until I had been wearing it a while. So 3 stars because it is a really nice tape, and that part of it works well, but very poor packaging (or too good), and apparently a belt loop that will not take some pushing and pulling.

This tape is fairly nice, like I mentioned in the title no frills, nothing super special about it (no brake, no magnet on the end, nothing like that), but it's nonetheless a quality product. I've had USA made Lufkin tapes before, this is comparable to the old USA made Lufkins with the metal bodies.
I find the blade easily readable, the clip works well enough. The measurements match other tapes. The packaging claims you can extend the tape 10' before it bends, I tried this, it was true, and that's comparable to other premium tapes. And the matte finish on the tape makes it easy to read. I will note, this one doesn't have the fractions marked down on it, some people like it that way, some people don't care.
The stop switch on the tape works fine, and it pulls out to the full 25' and retracts appropriately.
I think this tape will be in my regular rotation. It's a cut above the cheap ones. If you're looking for a no-frills tape around 10 bucks this is a great choice. There are nicer ones out there for more, but this is a good bang for the buck tape measure.
Quick update: I got a couple scratches on the body of the tape, the case does appear to be fake metal and actually plastic with a chrome color with how easily it scratches. While I do have other plastic tapes I use regularly, I don't really like the fact that they're kind of dressing it up like that to represent it as something it's not. I don't think that really changes the utility, so I won't change my rating.

It is a good tape measure. At 1-1/8”, its blade is wider than the older standard tape measures, plus it has larger numbers for easier reading. It also has a belt clip, a release button for easy retraction, a 10’ reach, and a lock for holding blade at a given measurement. It is certainly much better than the old tape measure I have been using. However, the Milwaukee tape measure my husband owns features even larger numbers and a longer reach among other features, so he wasn’t as impressed with the Crescent Lufkin tape measure as I was. (His Milwaukee tape measure also cost considerably more than this Crescent Lufkin.) Unrelated to the tape measure itself, I had difficulty removing it from its packaging. (I am NOT a fan of blister packs!) This Crescent Lufkin tape measure is made in China.

Felt some instant disappointment with this tape measure - as soon as I pulled the tape out 3 or 4 feet, it wouldn't retract without me assisting it back in. I used to think some tape measures would snap back in TOO hard, but now I see I've taken them for granted, because one NOT retracting when you want it to is way worse. And even bigger issue is that when you'd push down the slider to lock the tape, you could push it back in anyways with VERY little pressure.
I do like the size of this tape measure and it's comfortable in the hand, plus the blade has a non-glossy matte finish on the numbers which I really liked. I also like how much lighter it is than my old Stanley's, but then again, the body of these one is plastic, so that would explain it. Either way, with the retraction and locking issues, it's a nonstarter for me.

As one would expect from Lufkin, this is a well built tape measure made of quality materials. I ordered the 25' variant. It is a very heavy duty tape measure with a tape width of 1 1/8". Lufkin claims ten feet of pullout, I was able to extend it 11.
The blade is clearly marked and easy to read with 1/32" gradations for the first foot. The locking mechanism holds it securely in the desired position, upon releasing the lock it retracts smoothly. Note: SAE markings only, no metric.
Crescent Lufkin offers a limited lifetime warranty on this tape measure. You really can't go wrong purchasing one of these.
