This book was supposed to be new. There is clearly a sticker that’s been put on a torn off the cover of the book jacket.

This book is adorable and so clever. My daughter loves the way each crayon has its own personality and little story, and it keeps her engaged from start to finish. The illustrations are bright and playful and it is one of those books that is fun for adults to read too. It is the kind of story that makes kids laugh while also teaching a little bit about feelings and getting along. We have read it multiple times already and it has become an easy favorite on the shelf.

Read this today with my 4 year old grandson and it's hilarious! Never thought about crayons having feelings but after reading their letters, I get their dilemma! Great book. Highly recommend.

The story is wonderful, just disappointing that the cover wasn’t presentable for a gift, so I bought a different book at the store. I will give this copy to neighbors.

I bought this book as a psychologist in training to use in my SEL work with children. This books discusses emotions in a fun and unique way! Really high quality book and it can be used in a variety of settings. I am very happy with this purchase.

I wouldn’t have given this a second thought until somebody told me it was a great story. This is the cutest little story for kids. It starts offwith the crayons writing to the child regarding how much they are being used and how much they feel they are being abandoned, etc. Very creative and then there’s a story beyond that but I don’t want to give away what happens.
I bought this for my grandchildren. I am a retired teacher and I can guarantee you, this is a great book! In fact would be an awesome book for an art teacher to read to the children or have the children read it aloud!

I am so grateful I bought this book! I also bought some puppets to liven up the narrative. Highly recommended. Very well illustrated!

This is a really good book. When you have different age children that enjoy this book then you know you have a really cute well thought out book. Relatable for all ages. Even if you're an adult, it brings you back to your childhood.

This book is such a fun way to help kids discover feelings and emotions without going too deep. You can go as deep as their age permits.

This imaginative story takes us into the world of Duncan, a young boy who opens his box of crayons to find that they come to life with their own unique personalities and colorful complaints. From Red feeling overworked to Peach feeling neglected, each crayon has something to say, and it's both hilarious and heartwarming.
I appreciate the book's clever storytelling and vibrant illustrations, which keep my child engaged from start to finish. I ADORE Oliver Jeffers and his illustrations—they're so charming and whimsical! We adore it so much that we've almost collected all of the books in the Crayons series!

As an adult, yes, this is a fun book to read. I bought it for my two year old and he enjoys it, but I think it’s better suited for school aged kids who have already been influenced to some negative social norms 😅. It’s mostly fine, but it does use the word “hate” which I know a lot of people try not to teach their kids to use (and as a non American my husband finds the word very strong and really doesn’t like it), and there’s a whole page about how pink is a girl color. My son at 2 has no knowledge of “boy or girl” colors/toys so I changed the words, but that could have been written differently. I’ll probably put it away for a few years.

I was really excited to receive this book, but I was really disappointed when I received it. I ordered a new book, and when I received it both the jacket and the hard cover of the book were damaged.

My cover was ripped but the book is precious

Love the book, it’s really cute and I love the letters from each crayon. I’m just really disappointed that it arrived damaged. It seems like two pages got stuck and when they were separated they ripped. This was a really expensive children board book so it’s very unfortunate that it’s damaged.

Duncan takes out his pack of crayons, ready to do his drawings when he comea across a rather startling finding- his crayons have all written letter of complaints to him! From red crayon complaining that he's working harder than the rest... To black lamenting that he's tired of just being used for outlines- it's a hilarious and interesting story right down to end, where Duncan comes up with a genius solution!
Daywalt perfectly captures the different personalities in the various crayons in their letters and it's aptly illustrated by Jeffers. It's an absolute thrill to read (and put on funny voices while doing so!) while subtly teaching kids colours. Also intertwined in this story is the concept that each person has their own experience in life and in isolation, we all think we have it the hardest!
Have a go at this one, you'll have no regrets! It's so different and fun, kids will have a blast! Also, I can think of at least one or two fun activities based on this book!

I was disappointed with this book. It is basically several pages of each color complaining about its lot in crayon life. My 3 yo lost interest after the first 3 or 4 pages. We tried to skip to the rest of the book but it pretty much ends 1 or 2 pages after they are done complaining. I bought 5 books and this was the only one that did not hold his interest.

Very creative and original. The kids loved it.

It was a couple of years ago that my sister's granddaughter recommended this book. It was hard to get through it because Cami couldn't stop rolling on the floor laughing. Three years later this is still one of her faves. And don't forget to order the sequel. You'll also find it in many teacher's homeroom library.

I purchased this book for American Education Week. My daughter dressed as the pink crayon for storybook character day. She had lots of fun!

An adorable story that really holds my toddlers attention!
This story is creative and funny. You can even use it as a segway into an art activity at the end of the story (using the last page as inspiration- and encouraging creativity).

My 5 yr-old son and I loved this book! We read it together and he & I both thought it was hilarious and the absolute cutest! So cute that I decided to let him pick his favorite "crayon" from it to portray on "Book Character Day" at school. 😀

My most favorite book EVER. This was a birthday gift for my three year old. I think I love it way more than she does at this point. Need to get the other books ASAP. Shall gift this to others in the future.

This book is adorable. It gives you a creative look into the perspective of the crayons. As a parent, it will help you demonstrate the view point and feelings of others. As a child, you'll probably see it as a cute book about crayons:-)

The product very good, the box sent him great. Pay more in freight than the value of the book eill attached images. It is a product that does not need much protection.

My granddaughter loves this adorable book about defiant, complaining crayons! The illustration and story is a delight. It's fun to read aloud as it is for a child to listen.
