Mic placement is important great content mic for traditional videos

It’s a great mic for the price! I wouldn’t recommend it as a complete book mic dupe for filmmaking but it works perfect for content creating! I would also not recommend it as a podcast mic replacer i would just get a condenser mic for that, but if you want to use this to record ur video podcast in between time it’ll work just fine!

Mic stuck in standby

Doesn’t work, microphone stays in standby mode with both my Sony a6300 and bmp4k. I’ve purchased several 3rd party TRS cables and still haven’t been able to get the microphone to work

Love the gain knob!

I got this on sale from Adorama around the holidays. I love this mic, it is a huge step-up from the built-in mic from my Canon t5i. I appreciate the carrying case that comes with it so it stays protected in my camera bag. I do however wish that it was a bit louder, but adding the volume in post really takes a few seconds. overall really happy with this purchase.

Great sound for the price

THE GOOD:

- Directly compatible with a lot of devices

- Sturdy mount and perfect to directly put in on top of the camera;

- You can change the gain very easily with the Nob in the back

- It comes with a nice case :D

THE BAD:

- Which the cable was a little bit longer.

Outstanding audio at a great price.

Watch some videos about this mic (that's what made me buy it). It's a phenomenal high quality mic for the price -- both hardware quality & sound quality. And the gain knob is extremely useful.

This was on backorder for a few weeks, but I'm glad I waited. I'm glad I didn't spend $100 more for the overpriced mic all the vloggers use because all the vloggers use it.

I highly recommend this one.

Flawless with Nikon D3300

The website did not list this as compatible as the ones shown are all the ones they have actually manually verified personally which is very noble. Most other companies would have just went 'probably' based on technical specs and put it up.

I can verify the Nikon works perfectly with this.

I choose the D3 over the Rode VideoMic, VideoMic Go, and VideoMic Micro after extensive Youtube reviews and audio clip samples played back on $6k of headphone and speaker monitoring equipment. I am mostly a headphone audiophile but am venturing into microphones to record some videos and for the price, this thing is simply phenomenal.

Little to no noise in the background, 3 prong plug meaning it works with my desktop (using a splitter), smartphone, and DSLR.

Sound is meaty with low end but also mid clarity as well.

Extremely happy with purchase.

Incredible mic for the price

UPDATE: Months after using this mic with the GH5, GH5s and iphone x, xs, and 11, this mic sometimes creates incredibly loud radio frequency that gets baked into the audio. I do not know why this happens or what causes it, but when it happens it completely destroys the audio. It's a great mic when it's not creating feedback but if you do not have the ability to monitor your mic input you're better off going with rode. I've never had issues like this with rode and for that reason I only use this on my GH5 now when I can put on headphones to make sure there is no audio destroying sound being created from this mic.

Just received mine last week and use it with the GH5 / GH5s. I think you get amazing value with this mic considering I've been using the Rode videomic pro+ for the past year or so.

Rode either needs to drop their mic price by $150 or come out with something new if they want their value to match Deity's V-mic D3 Pro.

The case you get with this thing is great. Seems like it would cost $20+ on its own. Also comes with a TRRS to TRRS cable and a USB-C charging cable.

If you're looking to choose this or the Rode Videomic Pro+ I think you should choose the Deity V-Mic D3 Pro 100% zero questions asked.
