Total crap did not last a month on a cabinet shop.
Do not buy, total crap. I received it November 23 and today dec 21 I notice the blade has a crack in the side. I have only used it around my wood shop to measure lumber and do set ups. This was not used in a construction area where it could get abused, it was used in my personal finished carpentry shop. In my 50 years of using tape measures I have NEVER SEEN A TAPE START TO BREAK IN LESS THAN A MONTH OF LIGHT USE!! This tape quality durability sucks. Glad it broke before my return window ended

Heavier than described
The listed weight was the selling point for me. I expected it to be half a pound as the description said, i.e. 8 ounces. Instead, it’s 11.75 ounces. Not ideal for carrying it around on your belt all day

Great build and design, as you’d expect from DeWalt
Great measuring tape, love the finger notch on the bottom to manually hold the tape in place while you’re measuring, much better feel than having to click a button every time. As with everything Dewalt, it’s built well.

If you're debating between 2 tapes the way I did, buy this one!
I've been using the same Stanley Fat Max 16' tape for about 15 years. It's seen a lot of rough road, the tape has creased and cracked, so it was time to replace it. I spent about 30 minutes looking at 3 or 4 different tapes, and decided on this one. Some people say it's not 'compact', but it's really close to the same size as my Fat Max 16' tape, and this one is 25', so I would say they get to keep the compact label.
It feels heavy and tough, it doesn't feel cheap, and I'm pretty confident that it will take a beating. The extra markings down to the 1/8" is nice, it's on one side of the tape. The anchor plate seems like it will grab the ends of things fairly well, and the blade doesn't feel any thinner than my Fat Max. I'm pretty please with the decision to go with this one, if it turns out to be flimsy in any way, I'll update my review, but you'll be glad you gambled on this one if you've never owned one of DeWalt's tapes.
