the volume left something to be desired

I would give it 5 stars, but the volume left something to be desired. We bought this larger one because we thought the sound would be better than a 12V DeWalt, but it wasn't. The radio sounds good, but the Bluetooth volume is low.

Waste of time!

I received a used radio that did not work and had to send it back. Very disappointed!!

Decepcionante. (disappointing)

Very nice well built

Needed a good blue tooth speaker for my Pc and something I can have in the garage working in the shop the radio is a plus but it shines with syncing to your phone or PC I can stream music or podcasts it’s great having DeWalt tools it was a no brainer to use a 20v or a 60v run time depends on battery using a 20v 6ah I used it all day….great product

On/off

Overall very satisfied with this radio and will buy again BUT hopefully I won’t have to. I have had it for numerous months (a couple of years actually) enjoyed for hours months and months it charges my phone with the battery and it charges the battery while plugged into wall I love it BUT after all of that use the on/off button wore off (broke) and I have been trying to get a replacement assembly and I can’t for some reason SO IF someone can help me I posted a picture of the assembly that I need

No bottle opener

I ordered the radio that had the bottle opener on the side, when I received it there was not one on the side. My husband was disappointed with his father's day gift.

False advertisement by vender!

Hey guys! I’ve been looking for a new radio for myself for possibly months. I always do much research before spending my hard earned dollars on any product. This is the item I decided to purchase. I didn’t buy this radio because it had a bottle opener on it. But it was definitely a pro. The shipped item did not have a bottle opener- SAD the product is advertised as having such. I would like a price adjustment. False advertisement- good product. Bad vender. the display on the radio is also a little unimpressive. But the sound and is good! I have an older dewalt radio also and they are durable! I hope this baby last me for years to come

No bottle opener???

Not very happy about this not having a bottle opener like advertised. Everything else seems to work fine. When you spend over 250 on a dang radio you want it to be exactly how you ordered.

Good product, but false advertising by seller

Just received my radio. THE BAD: I’m glad the radio is guaranteed tough as advertised, because the condition of the box looks like it was thrown around. See pics. The outside shipping box showed no damage so must have happened before shipping. My radio did not come with “bonus” bottle opener as advertised. I should get price adjustment since I didn’t get the “bonus”.

THE GOOD: The sound is good with plenty of volume. The display is ok for the most part , but not a large field of view. Blue tooth paired easily and quickly. Haven’t checked range yet. So far I’m satisfied with the product, but not with the seller due to false advertising. Will update as necessary.

The original box was open.

It’s look like open box.. couz the original box was open. I don’t trust this guy.. I hope everything works fine. And little crack.

How can I have money back.. and why the same one from Dewalt it’s come now for 188,00.

Sides are weak

Had it for 2 weeks and I had my cell phone charging on side plugs it slid of couch fell about 1 foot and side plugs broke. For 200 bucks that's kind of a huge flaw if you ask me

The audio seems good, but the radio does not tune in but ...

The box I received was slightly damaged with no foam or other protection. The unit itself while it seems to work is scratched and scuffed, I suspect it was a returned item and not new. The LED display is very faint, but again this may have been a returned unit. The audio seems good, but the radio does not tune in but a few stations (I got it for the BT anyway).

Dewalt DCR025 Radio

I had the Tough System Radio. I sent it back, mainly because it would not fit my Note 4 in the covered charging area and it ran off a 12 volt power converter cord (the thin type one - not good for a job site). It was wider and longer than the DCR025, but half again as tall.

The DCR025 is in a roll cage framework. It doesn't have a covered battery compartment in the back. I don't know how well it will work when exposed to the wet. The cell phone storage area is under the radio, much bigger and will easily fit a Note 5 or iPhone 6 Plus; however, it does not have a rubber gasket, like the Tough System Radio (which has the compartment on top) The radio tuner seems to work better, as it has an external antenna.

The big plus factors are that it has (2) 120v ports on the side and a medium duty 120v cord.(3 x 14 gauge by 6' long). I wouldn't try to run a 15 amp tool off the outlets, but for additional battery chargers or other tasks they would be handy. It has a newer Bluetooth program, which will give you some control of the radio from you phone. See DeWalt literature for the details, as I haven't messed with them yet.

The sound will go very loud; however, to my untrained ear, I don't think it's quite as good of sound quality as the Tough System radio (maybe the size, layout and number of speakers?). It has 10 preset FM stations (vs 12 on the Tough System) and the equalizer will adjust the Bass and Treble by +/- 3. It will charge 60v Flexvolt, 20v or 12v DeWalt batteries and it has a rapid charger, which means that the 20v and 12v batteries will charge faster than the Tough System charger.

Overall, I'm happier with the layout, features and design of this radio in comparison to the Tough System Radio (which I gave 3 stars), especially given that they're the same price. I'm not gonna throw it off a dump truck (like some YTube videos) to see if it's really that tough.

UPDATE: August 2017. Still going strong. Charges all my batteries, including the FlexVolt line. I've used the two electrical outlets to run my chop saw and vacuum at the same time. The one thing that was a little odd was when sitting in direct 90 degree sunlight, the display would show "88888", in other words, it would be too hot to read the radio station or other information. When I put it into the shade, the display would go back to normal. I just leave them both plugged into the storage port underneath and close the door.
