Very disappointed in the durability and the customer service follow-through.
I purchased these DeWalt Tough Series tools on April 1st, expecting the heavy-duty quality the brand is known for. Unfortunately, the item cracked within 3 months of regular use. It was outside of the standard return window, which is frustrating enough, but being left in the dark with zero communication is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the tool broke completely just two days later and didn't even last 3 months of use. I even received a corporate survey asking if I was satisfied with the resolution… yet no resolution was ever provided or communicated to me. I would love for DeWalt or the seller to contact me directly to make this right and resolve this situation.

Nice if your not in construction
I bought this in February, today is June 27. I just used it and when it retracted back, it snapped at the 1 inch Mark. I guess it’s back to the Fatmax unless we got some kind of warranty I don’t know about then then I can move it back to five stars because I really like this tape.

Broken After 4 Uses
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my fiancé as he started his new business. He used it today for the 4th time, while measuring a pool, and this is the result. Everyone knows the Dewalt brand speaks for itself. This tape measure however, is a very poor reflection. Buyer beware.

Durable
I’ve gone through a lot of tape measures over the years and this DeWalt 25’ Tough Series is on another level. The blade is wide and stiff enough to extend a good distance without flopping, which is a huge help when measuring solo. The casing feels incredibly durable — I’ve dropped it on concrete multiple times and it’s still going strong. The grip is comfortable and the lock is smooth and reliable. If you want a tape measure that will last for years on the job site or around the house, this is the one. Worth every penny!

Worst tape measure I have EVER owned & I am not kidding. 1st one sent to me will not lock the tape in place nor will it retract after letting go of the tape. You have to feed it back in. In the process of attempting to lock it, the entire locking mechanism broke because it is made of plastic & rubber junk. The replacement arrived, exact same issue. The 3rd one arrived. Identical issues. Absolute garbage. I am a Dewalt fan as well but this thing is a high priced piece of trash that I Cannot honest recommend to anyone.

Kind of Tough...
Really loved this measuring tape feels really nice in my hand (nice grip). Doesnt feel cumbersome. Numbers are big, clear on both sides. Came with a magnetic tip attachment. I've used this for just over a year and out of nowhere when reeling in the tape measure from about 10-12 feet away it snaps on me. Part of the Tough series, I was very shocked that it snapped off at the 9in mark. Could be a defected tool. Will reach out to the company.

Now it has awesome big print numbers rop and underside. If your eyesight isn’t what it once was you’ll love this tape. Note description doesn’t mention the numbers are bigger. So DeWalt may be shipping older stock. If you’ve bought this 16’ before you’ll know it when you see it

Dewalt need to step up here!
I USE these tapes a LOT and for some reason DEWALT brake around the 2" (wice already back to back). It shows an extra reinforcement before 2" so I guess they HAD this ISSUE in there BEFORE... I LOVE Dewalt products BUT I have to rate this one as it is... I'm using a Milwaukee now and have lasted WAY MORE, still WAITING for DEWALT TO STEP UP on these guys

Dewalt forever
I had this tape before, not too long ago. I work as an ironworker and this tape is perfect. It’s heavy-duty and the max reach feature helps me get my measurements with ease on angle pieces, or a piece with a notch. It’s easy to read and see. I highly recommend this tape for any use. This is great for home and on the job sight…so, now I have this tape again. I messaged the seller on here and I explained that my tape was stolen from me and I didn’t have the money to get a great piece of gear, like this tape. A susie homemaker tape isn’t gonna cut it. The cheap ones are no good for anything if you ask me. Anyway, they sent me another tape, free of charge. These guys at DeWalt are for the working man or woman and that deserve much more than a rating. Dewalt has my business forever. Thanks guys!

Lasted a week
Needed a new tape, wanted to give dewalt a try. Was going good until day 5..placed the tape down for a measurement then went to reel it back and tape snapped in half as it reeled in. Pretty disappointed. Have tapes from other brands that i have had for yrs no issues. Maybe just a randomly bad tape in the batch but either way I'm out $20+ over it.

Junk, do not buy.
After using for less than a week the last 12" developed a twist in it. This makes it nearly impossible to stay attached to the end of what you are measuring. Buy a Fat Max and save the aggravation.

I was very happy with everything except for the excessive power of the automatic rewind. The recoil is so fast and strong that two of the three rivets holding the end stop have broken off and the last one is barely on. The tape is nearly useless after 2 months of very light use.

Not a tape manufacturer.
Don’t waste the money. Trying to pull out to 3’ and the end of the tape rolls every time. Will not stay ridged. I still have to pull out a 20 year old craftsman to get most jobs done. Thought this would fit the bill but I was so wrong. Can someone please remake the the old self locking craftsman?
