Died on a 10a load

I specifically chose this one because it’s rated for 15a unlike the competition which is rated for 10a. I have a 10a load, it’s exactly 10a. No inrush current, just 10a.

Dead. Switch still clicks and the red light comes on but no power from the outlet. Avoid.

Works just as described

This was perfect for my son’s room. I was always walking across the room to turn his lamp on and off. I wish it came with command strips but I will pick up some because I don’t want to attach it with nails. But the nail holes are small.

Only other thing that would be nice to have is a plug option on both sides. Had to slide the lamp over to get it on the other side of the plug

Bad quality

After about a year of using, the button just fall apart.

5 years, sadly one of the most reliable things I've bought

It's straight up just works. Nothing fancy, but what makes it great is that this thing has outlasted the pandemic.

Side plug in

I really don't like the side plug in because if you have a big plug in, it want work. Other than that it's great, getting a front facing plug in.

Dirty

My mom bought three of these for me as a gift. Two of them were clean and looked nice but the third has marks on the switch that I cannot get off and some kind of stains on the mounting plate. because they were given as a gift, I received them out of the return or exchange window. I would still like to keep the other two, but wish that I would have been able to exchange the third.

Don't have to trace down short yet lol

Quick fix for switch that's out in a room. Will work till I get time to find the short. I used temporary 3m strip. Hopefully I will get around to fixing light before battery runs out.

Works perfectly and easy to use/set up

This is exactly what I was looking for to control my new LED shop lights in my garage - I didn’t want to mess with the wiring. This worked perfectly right out of the box. It’s very simple to install and the set up is simple. I had no issues with the switch falling off the wall (as some reviewers mentioned.) I installed on drywall with anchors. All good.

The triangle is a button

I was today years old when I realized this triangle part is a on/off switch. I have had this device for over 2 years now and it has worked wonderfully. By the looks of it, I have an older version. The new version looks nice if it doesn't have that orange glow. If I needed another, I would stick with this brand. The only issue I have is that I keep bumping into the remote and knocking it off the wall. It's hanging on by a thread, but still hanging on. The number of times I have dropped it and it keeps working is amazing on it's own.

Update* I bought the new version and it still has orange glow, but it still works as well as the old version.

You can mount the switch virtually anywhere—put it where it works for you or your family!

The mounting on flat plastic wall plate is a very clever and useful solution. It took me a few seconds of wiggling things around to figure it out, and the instructions are printed in microscopic type which is virtually impossible to read. We live in an 18th century stone farmhouse, originally electrified in the early 20th century, and upgraded piecemeal over numerous subsequent owners. Getting switches in the “right” place is major surgery for wired switches, but is quick, clean, and child’s play easy with these. I have owned at least 3 competitive varieties of wireless switches and the critical issue is how long they last. Time will tell. Note: there is NO indication on the outside of the box as to what frequency code your switch and plug use. If I wanted to mount two identically coded switches at opposite ends of a pass-through room or hallway, the vendor needs to sell them as matched pairs to facilitate that, (and there are potential negatives if you accidentally get matched code switches and install them within transmission range of one another). Note the numerical code 319 in the picture. Also note the battery protector pull tab on the left side of the battery compartment. Good luck!

Easy way to add switch without wiring

Pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, pulled the packing strip out of the battery, it worked. No wiring required. I will be buying more for other applications.

Easy switched outlet

It is sometimes really hard to run a switch wire in an older home without a lot of wire fishing. This unit allows one to run an outlet in the attic and switch away.

Works as expected, not as thin next to a regular outlet

This switch works great and does what it is supposed to. However, depending on how picky you are the following may be of concern to you.

First, it's a bit thicker than the regular wall switches, so it sticks out a bit. Obviously, this becomes very prominent when it is located next to a regular wall outlet.

Second, the unit comes in a single color, so it may not match up to other switches.

Other than that, it's functional and does what it supposed to.

Additional on/off button at socket!

This has been a great tool for our recent home improvement project. We cut our master walk in closet in half and turned it into a nursery. It solved our lighting issue quickly since we simply purchased a plug in hanging lamp. Plugged it into this socket that had a remote switch that we hung at the entrance of the new wall divider in our closet. It is so easy to use. So far the batteries in the remote haven't needed to be changed. It was a pleasant surprise to see wecould also control the light from the socket device since it is in arms reach while sitting in the rocker with the baby. Definitely recommended!

Broken click mechanism

The clicking mechanism is broken on these. Off gives a nice solid click, but On doesn't. It's soft and weak and hard to know if it is pressed or not. Not sure if it's defective, but very unhappy. Needed it for this weekend, not coming through.

Great for renters!

Like some renters you may not have a ceiling light and so you just get a lamp, and others like myself may want to shy away from that for a better look. I just plugged everything together, it's as simple as that and a push of a button. I even placed velcro on the remote to be able to hang/remove on the wall without the use of nails/screws. For the remote you have to press directly onto the dots (you'll know what I mean) to work 100%, it's not like regular light switches that you can just press the corner of the switch and it's on.

Does the trick

Works great. I have no complaints. It allowed me to place a hanging light where we needed one without having to run new wiring which would have been a huge pain. Been using it about 3 months now and so far so good.

Very Easy, Very Nice!

Received it today and installed it within 5-10min. Install the mounting plate on the wall using the two tiny screws It came with and a basic screw driver i had, slide the “remote” onto it, plug in the plug, plug the item into said plug, push button. Very easy, not a single issue yet - mind you I have only had it for 2 hours but so far so good!

UPDATE 3 WEEKS LATER: it is finicky as hell, sometimes it works great other times I cannot get the lights to turn off without unplugging it. unplugging it doesnt reset it either, you have to actually leave it unplugged, forget about it, come back later and plug it back in for it to work again.

Great multi pocket wall switch and remote

Easy to use. Didn’t try remote yet.

Perfect!

Easy to install. The receiver is appx 13' away inside the closet (just inside the closed door) and it works every time. Love it.

Works and easy as advertised, minor reliability issues.

This is the most reliable, easy to setup, and affordable equipment to use that meets this need like no other. I docked them one star for the overall score for failing to do its one job 100% reliably, but you’re going to be hard pressed to find better at this price.

The fix: 6 ceiling outlets with worklights plugged in are controlled by a master switch, that also turns off the garage door opener. Whoops. I can tear out the drywall and rewire, or I can spend $60 to leave the master switch on and isolate the light controls.

The good: can you plug in a lamp? Can you read simple pairing instructions? Can you screw a plastic mounting plate into drywall? If yes then great, because you can save yourself so much time and headache without having to call an electrician.

The bad: the 100’ estimate on range interference must have been done under some super clean conditions. The outlet farthest from my remote is 80% reliable. It’s less than 15’ away with zero obstruction. I just push ON again, but the fact that one light doesn’t always get the message knocked the smugness of this DIY hack off my face (and took a star along with it).

1. This is the only configuration under $300 that will get you a bunch of wireless plugs connected to a faux wall switch. You can try the Lutron Casetta setup, but that requires modding at least one 15A in wall switch l, buying a remote wall plate, etc. a single Lutron module costs more than I paid for 7 of these.

2.

3. Cost escalates steeply from here with outlets that may not solve your problem if you have the issue I had above.

Kap

Not the most reliable performance, will be returning

Pros:

1. Easy one-time pairing, doesn’t rely on WiFi

2. Great idea for a product in general

Cons:

1. Wall mount is a little bulky (but this is definitely not a deal-breaker)

2. Sometimes you have to press on/off multiple times before it works

3. There’s often a lag/delay — A couple seconds between pressing the switch and the light turning on. This led me to read the negative reviews, who said it stopped working after a month or so. So I decided to take a preemptive strike and return it while my return window is still open if this lag/delay eventually leads to it completely not working as the other reviews have experienced. Nothing makes me more angry than when a product stops working RIGHT AFTER the return window closes. Just a word to the wise.

Great remote control

I got this for my wife as we install two new lamps but we didn't want it to turn them on individually, so this remote control fit perfect and add a great future to our living room, so easy to install, I add a 3 feed extension to control two lamps at the same time.

I may buy a second set for my bedroom :-)

No electrician needed!!

Great product I was able to put a over head light in my small rental apartment. And place the switch anywhere I wanted!

Easy as 1,2, 3

I installed two fluorescent shop lights above my work bench that I had to manually plug in every time I needed to turn them on, since I didn't want to hassle with routing electrical wires through the wall and installing a light switch. This little nifty thing solved the problem, by enabling me to remotely controlling the lights. I installed a duplex outlet in the ceiling that was super easy, as I had a live wire in the attic, near the lights. Adding the duplex took me less than an hour, pure and rare luck there. The rest was even easier. I plugged in the receiver and didn't even have to synch it to the wireless switch. With the duplex near the lights, I don't have to look at any wires dangling down from the ceiling either. The light switch is a surface mount, so it won't match the standard light switches, but it's perfect in a shop environment. The only modification I would recommend for this product is adding another outlet to the receiver to have a full duplex outlet. I ended up using an adaptor to connect two lights to the receiver.

Works as advertised

Installed on workbench to my lights. Install was easy and straightforward and worked as advertised. Much simpler than wiring in a switch. Can’t attest to the longevity of the unit as it’s only been installed for a few weeks
